    Description

It's the beginning of an adventure with Saffron this year at "La Fattoria di Casabianca".
We are trying to become now productive by planting new cultures like saffron and winter veggies. The Olive Orchard is productive so we need some extra help with both, the olive picking in early November, alternate to the Saffron harvest. It's a relaxing job, made mainly in the morning before the flowers to open. Straight after we need to open the flowers by hand, to save the precious red pistils, usually sitting around a table and chatting all together on the terrace if sunny and warm or in front of the fireplace if cold outside. The olives picking is also made by hands - to better preserve the quality - every other day and according to the weather. There is then plenty of spare time in the afternoon to enjoy the surrounding nature or chill around... Speaking of eating! We use to stop for a pleasant launch break in the Olive orchard while picking and we dine home or hanging out with friends in the evening. Breakfast is enjoyed at home in the morning with coffee, bread, butter, honey, and jams but of course, you can ask for your specific dietary preferences if you want to! We'll provide you what you need. At the moment we're eating pretty much veggies and dairy products, just sometimes meat. The end of October and early November are the periods that we need extra help, for now for a couple of weeks consecutively in the peak of the harvests!

Lots of food, lots of new friends, the possibility to take a break from stressing city life, the possibility to discover Apulia in a no-peak touristic season... You could also learn more about healthy nutrition and sustainable agriculture, learn Italian directly from an Italian teacher, learn more about meditational yoga (Nonna Giovanna is a Raja Yoga teacher and an ex-school teacher! Take advantage!) What you do not find here? Party life for sure in November! So be aware that is going to be a relaxing and meditational period of your life staying with us!

We need extra help for the Saffron's harvest and Olive picking for a couple of weeks...
A quiet person who enjoys nature and manual labor is the ideal, definitely, not a party animal but an easy-going and level headed person! We love good vibes!
