Description
We love hiking, birding, gardening, rafting, hunting for edible mushrooms, eating good food, and curling up with a book. My husband, Alex, and I met while working for an environmental non-profit, and we worked in the environmental non-profit field for nearly 20 years.
We also love to travel and enjoy meeting new people along the way. We have traveled extensively throughout the western United States with a focus on National Parks, Wilderness areas and whitewater. We have also traveled a good bit internationally visiting over 40 countries and counting!

More details about your skills
In 2024, after decades in Portland Oregon, we moved to Silver City New Mexico, a small university town on the edge of the Gila National Forest. In Portland, we lived on a large urban lot for 18 years creating a garden oasis in the city with a focus on organic food and native plants. Now, we are learning to garden in the high desert of our new home, a very different ecosystem with new challenges and opportunities to learn. We are skilled in home renovation and repairs having remodeled our own homes, as well as managing and maintaining a few rental properties that we own. Thus, we have experience with home, electrical and plumbing repairs, as well as carpentry and basic building. Next year, we will start building our new home on 3 acres!
Alex is a high school track coach and has experience interacting and teaching children the basics of fitness theory and training. Erin volunteers at a non-profit thrift store that benefits our local animal shelter. She maintains their Facebook page, creating short videos and posts about weekly sales. She has also developed educational posters to post around the shop to draw attention to issues of pet overpopulation and the importance of spaying or neutering pets.
We are both retired from environmental non-profit work. We have experience training and working with volunteers, educating the public on various environmental issues, and working with the media.
