Adam stayed with us for 3 weeks and frankly I will miss having him around. For me who likes to build and make things, he was a huge help. He basically built a deck with a few conversations and debates with me, usually improving the quality of the overall product. We also had productive fun, which I enjoyed mucking around with tree climbing and him chopping off some branches for firewood...Great guy highly recommended.

Benedetta and l stayed for 5 Days with Isurus Family. It was our first Workaway in Sri Lanka and it was a wonderful stay which we would recommend to anybody who likes to stay far away from tourists, traffic, who wants to get to know the locals and local food and nature and its beautiful animals! Isuru wasnt there in person at this time and his brother Chamal took very good care of us and Isuru was always available via phone. He even tried to bring us no spicy food which was very kind of him! The land they have is extremely beautiful, you step out of the house and you are surrounded by nature and tranquility and lovely neighbors. While our stay they were finishing the Café they were building and we helped with hanging some pictures. Isuru and his brothers have a vision for this place with a lot of beautiful ideas which we totally support and we are very sure about, that this place is gonna be something special, just as it is already, something very special. ✨ The kids of one of his brother are very cute, they joined us as soon as we got up, went for walks with us, we played together and one evening we even started with Karaoke. The family itself is extremely kind, more than welcoming and very respectful. Even tho communication was hard sometimes, especially with workers or friends of Isuru, we understood each other anyway and we laughed a lot together. We thank you and your family again for hosting us, it has been a pleasure and such a lovely time, with a lot of beautiful memories we made. And we are sure that your plan is going to work and it will be one of the most beautiful places on earth.✨ We would come back anytime and help you with whatever help you need! Also we recommend thi stay for solo female travelers since you have a private room, lots of kind people around you that take care of you. We never felt unsafe or unwelcomed!✨

We stayed with Ranui and Curtis for a week. The activities were very varied: gardening, collecting eggs, feeding the animals, horseback riding... we even had the chance to learn how to shear sheep! There was always something to do. We had the opportunity to learn more about Maori culture and also enjoyed some great conversations with the other Workaways. Thank you ! 🙃

Than you so much Ali for your hospitality! I really enjoyed your company and I could feel the love you have for your family, your animals, your land and for the desert!

Anja and Alberto have been absolutely spectacular hosts! Where do we even begin?! 💕✨ The accommodation is beautiful: we had a lovely room with a kitchenette and private bathroom, all thoughtfully cared. It honestly felt like staying in an Airbnb rather than with a Workaway host. The work was super fun and creative most of the time. Anja and Alberto always communicate the daily tasks clearly and are incredibly flexible and supportive when it comes to the workawayers’ interests and passions, and they are also incredibly generous. We shared such special moments together, while also having plenty of free time to enjoy Terrigal and the surrounding areas. A special mention goes to Pipo and the other four-legged friends. We grew so attached to Pipo! We already miss our walks and cuddles so much! 🐾 We stayed with them for one month. We arrived as guests, but over time we truly grew close to them and built a beautiful connection. This has been one of the best Workaway experiences we’ve had so far. We really hope to see them again soon. They are both wonderful people who welcomed us warmly and made us feel completely at home 🏠

I stayed with Helge and his Family in August 2025( sorry for beeing late) Helge hosted me last minute, for a couple of days and I felt really good at his place. Helge is a very nice guy and he is actually interested in you as a person. The first day i helped Helge to fix some straw mats under the roof in the outdoor kitchen. I did some wood cutting with a small chainsaw on another day and on day I was watching his two youngest (most adorable) sons one afternoon It was really good to stay there and dont worry you dont have to take showers outside. The profil could use a makeover. I slept in a sort of campervan , five minutes away which gave me a lot of privacy.(But i was also offered a room in the House and choose the wagon outside in the fields. It was a great experience, if you are in need of a place while passing through I can recommend Helge as a host. He is very open minded for al sorts of ideas. I liked his speaking prayers before meals🙏 Best wishes for you and your family

This was my first experience at a workaway and it was amazing. I was very lucky to get into this particular hostel. Jay was very gentle and patient. I will never forget how amazing he cooks; sometimes he made dinner for us, and it was absolutely delicious!

I spend 3 very very good weeks on Sue and Jim property. I enjoyed every moment share with them wether it’s sailing, fishing or working. They cook delicious dish with fruits and vegetables from their garden for every lunch. Without forgetting the Black Shed, a lovely piece of paradise with great view on the valley and the woods. I recommend blindness :)

I stayed here for 2 weeks and I can really reccomend this volunteers for people that want to stay in a quiet place, learn about local culture, as we did some cooking class and visit local market. Pantilla and Mae Nae were always kind and helpfull and the kids are so cute. Khob khun mak khrap for let me stay with you😁

A huge thank you to Genevieve for her warm welcome! We loved chatting with her and enjoying Apollo Bay and the beach, just a few minutes' walk away! We were able to work at our own pace and cook her our favorite dishes. Thanks to our days off, we were able to visit the Twelve Apostles and the waterfalls to the north. The bed is very comfortable and the house is lovely. We even saw koalas in the garden! We highly recommend staying with Genevieve!

A huge thank you to Mel and Skye for this wonderful stay at their place. We had some lovely evenings with them. The setting is very pleasant with a magnificent view of the valley and their animals. We really enjoyed the hot tub after work! The bed was very comfortable, and we had complete freedom during the day; the schedule was flexible and could be adjusted to suit our needs! We didn't have a car at first, and Mel took us to spend an afternoon in Inverloch. Then, on their advice, we rented a car to visit Wilsons Promontory on our days off. We worked hard in the garden, creating the rock garden at our own pace! It was a great experience!

I had a wonderful and relaxing time with this beautiful family. They have lots of animals that you get to care for and enjoy. There are lots of beautiful things to do and see in the area.

Dafydd has been here for awhile and he was very helpful in everything I asked. He was also a great companion in the everyday life at home or out. He is nice, polite and honest person. I was vey happy to host him!.

Simon stayed with us for 2 months. All the time he was engaged in physical labor. For physical work we get up early in the morning. Simon always worked well and was punctual. The house was cleaned very cleanly and efficiently. He was always polite with his colleagues and with me, and besides, he was not talkative. I recommend him, he is a very good worker.

I had a wonderful month and felt welcome from day one. Sarah's beautiful home, surrounded by greenery, is peaceful and relaxing. I had my own private room. It was a pleasure taking care of the house, the garden and the animals, and having a bicycle available made getting around so much easier. Thank you for everything, Sarah! This was my first Workaway and an absolutely amazing time - Kriszta and Katyu were clearly experienced with Workawayers and took care of me with so much kindness. I mostly worked on weeding while there, which can be hard work at the start (especially if it's hot) but your body gets used to it, and Kriszta / Katyu are so patient (and check that you aren't overdoing it!). And the attitude and care they put into this work rubs off on you too. The meals were incredible (one highlight being an insane barbeque), the area is serene - there's a hammock in the garden and hills in the back you can walk around - and their place is homely / beautiful. Talking to both of them was so much fun, hearing their perspectives on life and learning from them - for example, how in tune they are with nature, noticing details around them, and knowing how to use different plants for different purposes. So, long story short... I can't recommend them enough :)

Emily war zwei Mal bei mir in Sri Lanka um in meinem Tierschutzprojekt mitzuhelfen. Sie war mir nicht nur eine riesen Hilfe, sondern auch eine echte menschliche Bereicherung. Emily sieht die Arbeit, ist selbststãndig, sauber und super nett. Wir sind immernoch in Kontakt und ich hoffe, dass sie noch ein drittes Mal kommt.

Ivan's finca is a beautiful place in the mountains. There, you can experience rural Colombian life. It's a great place to relax after big city and enjoy nature. I really liked working with the coffee. Picking coffee berries is a very meditative activity! There was also some other basic gardening work to be done. When I wasn't working, I liked to relax at the farm. I would lie in a hammock and write in my diary. It's an amazing spot for birdwatching! If you want to have a chance to speak with the nice family who live on the farm, it's better to know some basic Spanish. Also, the shops are quite far away, so it's better to take some food for your dinners from the city. Thank you for your hospitality, Ivan!

Nadia was a responsible respectful and diligent adult. She cleaned the house and garden and looked after the animals while I was away. I continue to reap the benefits of her work. She is welcome to stay again anytime. She was very pleasant and easy to host.

Vanessa stayed with us for two weeks and it was such a pleasure to host her. She is an easy-going, warm person who blended beautifully into our home from the very beginning. We especially loved hearing her travel stories – she has such a wonderful way of sharing her adventures and experiences. She helped us with Pipo, who quickly grew very fond of her. It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in caring hands. Around the house, Vanessa was always willing to jump in and help wherever needed. She did a fantastic job painting our hallway…even though I hilariously chose the wrong colour and ended up repainting it two more times afterwards! We had a good laugh about it! Vanessa is respectful, capable, and a lovely presence to have around. We truly appreciated her help and the time we shared. We wish her the most beautiful adventures ahead and all the very best for wherever her journey takes her next. Thanks Vanessa ❤️
