Staying on the island was absolutely magical. The surroundings were breathtaking and it is so peaceful! I loved every moment of it - the work was always interesting and you can't go wrong working in such a beautiful environment. Klass was kind and welcoming and I felt right at home. It was the perfect balance of meaningful work and peaceful island
… read more life. I’ll carry the memories (and the views!) with me for a long time. The fishing was particularly amazing and the food was always delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something truly special! I will be back as soon as possible!

I had the pleasure of staying with Klass on the Island for 6 days in October, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I arrived, Klass was incredibly welcoming and generous, making me feel right at home. The food was incredible—Klass is a fantastic cook, and we enjoyed delicious meals together throughout my stay.
The work
… read more itself was engaging and interesting, offering me a chance to learn new skills in a beautiful setting. Beyond the work, Klass went above and beyond by taking us on hikes and even fishing trips. He shared some excellent fishing techniques with me, which I will definitely use in the future.
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better host. Klass created a perfect balance of work and fun, and I left with great memories. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful Workaway experience!

It was such a great experience to be on the island for two weeks. The work we did were on our own initiative and Klaas was open to everyones ideas. This made the group close and strong. We helped and learned together, by building a terrace, painting the house, gardening. Since the hosts hunt their own meat and fish, we could join fishing. After
… read more helping we could do whatever we wanted. Most days we went hiking with Klaas, building a campfire on our way to make some coffee. And of course if you wanted to do something by yourself it was also possible. In the weekends we were without Klaas on the island sometimes and we went canoeing, swimming etc. Klaas is an inspiring person to talk about life, with to me, eye opening visions. If you want to experience Norway and live by nature, I would really recommend this workaway!Feedback

I spent 3 weeks on the island that Klaas owns and it was a such interesting and fun experience ! We were 7 workawayers most of the time so we shared a super nice time together with Klaas and Marijke. The hosts are very interesting and inspiring people, they have a lot of experiences and stories to share so you can learn a lot with them ! They have
… read more a lot of energy and good vibes and this is contagious ! There, you can really feel involved in the development of the island because Klaas explains you clearly what are his goals, his vision, and ask for your opinion to make choices. It’s all the more interesting that the hosts try to live in a resilient way ! I remember the day Klaas taught us how to fish and then we caught several big ones. I remember the evenings spent around a campfire ! I also remember the time we spent kayaking, hiking and swimming around !
Then, the place is also amazing cause of the nature : the island is in the middle of a beautiful fjord, surrounded by mountains and small communities. That makes this place also very peaceful.
When it comes to the work and tasks, you will be satisfied by what you bring to the island : it was a lot about painting, building, cleaning, but other fancy activities like bringing a big piano on the island can be done. Klaas is also quite flexible about the way you manage your workday.
Therefore, it is was a super nice experience, with great people and a special connection to nature, I would recommend it !You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

This was my first workaway so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
However Klaas and Marijke were wonderful hosts and make you feel comfortable at their lovely place on the island. If you ever need something you can just ask, they are really open minded and helpful.
The work was rewarding as you can really witness the result of your work which is
… read more really cool. I've never built a terrace before but now i have and I have to say as exhausting it sometimes was it was still a refreshing and interesting experience.
As someone who loves fish and beautiful landscapes this places was perfect. In your free time you can go hiking, fishing or just relax on the island and take in the natural beauty of the fjords.
They also have two super cute dogs that were are always ready to either fish with you ;) or just want to cuddle around a bit.
I can only recommend this really cool workaway to anybody who wants to stay in norway for a while.
Cheers :)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
