Lucia, Jakob and their family made us feel welcome from the very first minute. While they were away, we sitted their farm and took care of the animals, which was a really nice experience. We learned a lot about farmlife and got the chance to cuddle quite a few new born lambs. Together with the family we spent the most delicious dinners with interesting conversations, learned how to make candles and soap, played a lot of games with their 3 lovely and funny boys and just enjoyed living very close to nature. Thank you so much, hope to see you soon! 🫶🏼

Camila and Guilherme . Stayed with me for four weeks . It was a real pleasure to meet them and have the pleasure of getting to know them . They are happy positive and brilliant energy to be around . They were just excellent workers and nothing is a problem to them . They learned so quickly and used their initiative to make decisions on their own .If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to host this couple i strongly recommended it as they simply are the best .looking forward to seeing them again and wish them safe and happy travels .

Where do I even begin? The three weeks at Lukas’s place flew by, filled with cool adventures, engaging conversations, travel gossips, great food, and plenty of board games. Daily life involved helping with shared tasks such as cleaning common spaces, feeding the pigs and chickens, and cooking together, with Lukas and Sarah were always flexible about responsibilities. I had the chance to experience a truly beautiful and authentic Christmas Eve with their family members. They also helped me explore Mattsee and the surrounding areas, making each outing feel unhurried. Their kids are friendly, though a little shy at first, and incredibly energetic, watching them play and move around the house was always a joy. One unforgettable highlight was Lukas guiding me through a brief dip in the almost frozen lake, an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. I truly enjoyed the many board and card games we played together and even had the opportunity to visit their school. Observing the school’s structure and teaching approach was genuinely impressive. Lukas and Sarah are thoughtful, warm, and welcoming people. If you’re open-minded, enjoy meaningful conversations, and are happy to join in games and shared activities, you’ll feel right at home. I wholeheartedly recommend getting in touch with them.

This was a nice stay we stayed almost 2 weeks with the kitties who were great but kept a distance accept Boni he seems to be the leader so me and my daughter(5yr old) spent time with him mostly when he allowed it. This was my first workaday project it was interesting but we left early due to not fully being prepared, but this was great for learning what possible expectations to have for projects. We spent the first night with Manuel he was great and attentive and helpful my daughter thought he was cool and friendly also, and we sat and had dinner with him too.

Florian was great to have around. This was his first workaway stay. No job was to big or small for him. He trimmed our fruit trees, mowed the lawn, did lots of weeding, shoveled stones for our driveway, watered the garden, and looked after our dog when we went away for a few days. What he lacked in skill he made up for in enthusiasm and willingness to learn. He's a good communicator with excellent English and willing to give anything a go.

It was my pleasure to take care of the house and the cooking during my stay. This place has a very good energy. In my free afternoons i was floating in the sweet, warm water in the back of the garden. I learned to cook a tasty feijoada vegana and Marco had some good cultural tips ,which led me to a wonderful place after my stay as well. We had a good steady rhythm in the two weeks i was there. I would recommend this place.

Unfortunately, Tabea could only stay for one week because I had previous bookings. I wished she could have stayed one month or even longer: Tabea is very conscientious, has an amazing work ethic, is a fantastic communicator, and is just fun to have around. We had very stimulating conversations. She explored Golden Bay on my bike after work, met a few of my friends, and got on extremely well with everybody. Whether it was housework, helping with cooking, weeding, transplanting, collecting and stacking firewood, clearing, everything was done to my fullest satisfaction. I am truly sad to see her leave, and I welcome her back at any time.

Sempre dispostos a ajudar, calmos e pró-ativos. Gracias amigos,

I spent a very nice week with Rafael and Wilson at his place overlooking the ocean. The work was not demanding at all and walking Wilson was a pleasure. Lots of free time to do your own thing, I birdwatched, put a toe into the ocean and went around the village which is a 20 minutes walk away. Would absolutely recommend!

awesome place to stay if you're wanting to get away from the busy world, put your hands in the dirt, and have a lot of time alone. the hosts nathaniel and diana are so warm and welcoming, and while they also enjoy their alone and resting time, they are very passionate and engaged in interacting with people from around the world, learning new things and sharing their knowledge of languages (nathaniel being a polyglot), permaculture (with both having some education and a lot of trial and error experience with the ecology of their land) and open to sharing their stuggles with chronic illness. work on the land consists of a wide variety of activities, from wood chopping and tree culling to reparing the roof of volunteer caravans and cleaning and organising the toolshed. the work is only 4 hours 3 days a week, so there is a lot of free time, which depending on one's interests can be a good or bad thing; there are many beaches, hiking trails and beautiful scenery very close nearby, but the nearby town doesnt have a lot going on other than hippy cafe's, two vintage stores and live music once a week. other activities can be done with the hosts, including a weekly family dinner, weekly farmers market and brunch morning, weekly yoga, often we went to the beach for surf-skate meet-ups, had a fame or movie night and some local food festivals, which all helped to curate a regular schedule. the camp where volunteers stay is very cozy, and the caravans to sleep in provide a functional escape from the elements while also encouraging one to go out and explore. the kitchen and living space they have built is equipt with everything to make a lovely meal and then store leftovers, with a lot of storage space and a good woodburner to sit next to for the winter months. i stayed for two months and know ive made some life-long connections that i can always rely on :). thank you diana and natalino for this time, i hope to see you again soon !

Eusebio

It was a great pleasure for us to meet Alan and Lara. We helped organize the move to a smaller property. Alan is a big-hearted man who gave us all tasks in small doses... As Alan is an excellent storyteller we really enjoyed the many conversations, shared meals, small teasing and Benny's pranks (a 1-year-old "sheepdog"). The little workshop on how to prune wine was a highlight and we will miss the incredible sunsets we experienced on the farm. Lara and Alan's hospitality was endless. We always felt welcome and very comfortable!!! Thank you for everything.

Katha came to help me for about a week and than remained to housesit and do some work on her own while I went travelling. The communication around her arrival and my departure was clear, even when some delays happened. I felt that I can trust her to stay alone in my house and it proved right! We worked together on insulationg the house which is a horrible job and she was super supportive and willing to help with the whole process, which is not something any volunteer is up for. She gave and took personal space which I really needed! we had great conversations about our lives and where we are headed and I felt very comfortable having her around. And besides doing the work I asked her, she made me beautful macrame art! I feel that my house was waiting for her and had something to offer her aswell, while I was gone which I am so happy about! Thankyou for everything!

I had the pleasure of hosting imjingjing, it was wonderful to have her stay with me. We had lots of opportunities to exchange and were able to have fun projects. She is a true delight . She is extremely smart, educated, hard working, observed all the house rule with a pleasant smile. Whatever I asked her to do was well done. Her skills with various tasks, such as computer, social network as well as everyday tasks around the house was noticeable and carried out very responsibility and concioussness.

Helene was a quiet and hapoy soul. She enjoyed her walks with Wilson to the point of doing it even on her free day. She stayed a week always doing her tasks without needing more instructions and also ask to some extra stuff to do. She always kept everything clean and was a bless to have her around helping. 100% reccomended.

Mia was great. She came with her boyfriend to house and dog sit while we were away. They arrived 2 days prior to us leaving and we got to know them a bit. We left them our home, car and 2 dogs. They took good care of everything. Updated us when necessary and left the house in perfect condition. It was a very positive experience and we were glad to make new friends.

Un caloroso abbraccio, Daniela This was my very first workaway and I couldn‘t have chosen a better place. It is magic, hundreds of very old secular olive trees, the noises of nature at night (I adored the owl), the singing of thousands of birds in the morning, the light of the sun filtered by the branches of the olive trees during the day, the moon and the stars that show up already in the evening as being far away from artificial light sources (despite the one of the house), all that touches directly the soul. All that managed by Eusebio, a wonderful gentle warm-hearted and welcoming person. He made me immediately feel at ease. In a natural way he left me the keys from his house when he went hunting, we had our meals together talking about our lives as if we were knowing each other already since a long time. He answered calmly and with patience at any of my curious questions regarding the production of olive oil and his entire activity. I learned quite a lot about olives, and even about life in the countryside. In the evening Francesco, his son, joined us for dinner, un exceptional young man with a great heart for animals. He brought the actual cat Stellina and the gentle giant dog Rabbit, two foundlings, in his fathers home. My stay lasted only four days, for higher reasons unfortunately I had to leave much earlier than planned. (One little remark for those who travel with a camper: my Hymer motorhome of 6 meters had great difficulties in descending the rough road that leads from the village to Eusebios property and, getting back uphill was even harder. Fortunately I got away with it with only both sides well scratched) I thank Eusebio from the bottom of my heart, he made me experience very rich days. A warm hug, Daniela
