Description
Hello!
Im Liran. 35 years old and have moved to portugal, kind of... about three years ago.
I bought a house here, which I am slowly discovering is perfect for me, in an area that I am discovering and loving more and more.
Im hoping to make this house a home. For me, for my friends, for travellers- and for creativity and music. A semi-home semi-art-studio semi-place-for-quiet-life.
Before this, I’ve been working with teenagers for 10 years In many teaching positions. (craft, writing, language..) All to find ways to talk and be next to kids while they grow up.
Besides, I travel all year around inbetween friends and homes, and tend to move around too much, in my opinion.
So i´m trying to stay.
To have a place to come back to.
to try and build with nature, or without disturbing it.
To wake up and hear birds,
Not cars
or chain saws.
I really treasure the quiet, playing music, and going to rivers.

In the village and area nearby, everything is very local and there is a nice mix between portugueese families and people from around Europe who moved to the area. There will for sure trademen and friends visiting that have experience in life and work for you to hear from and connect with. In your free time you could go to meet locals, walk around in nature or join me and sometimes friends when we hang out or drive somewhere.
we will probably go to visit more friends who have houses around here for you to meet and if interested- to see more how people leave their home and decide to start these projects at their 30s
There is a nice local international pub and there are events or something hapenning most weekends. (ecstatic dance, craft workshop, parties). I go to yoga twice a week, and indoor swimming, sauna usually once a week aswell.
I will make sure to take you around the nature places, which I like visiting myself. If you are interested in learning or participating in any of the creative things I do in my free time, you will be mostly welcome to join, unless said otherwise.
bonus if you are into cuban salsa or crochet!Help
In march and april I have a few specific things I would be so happy to finally finish
1. some painting in and out of the house (an opportunity to learn all the options for house painting)
2. Help me beautifying, fixing and creating for the main living room
3. I need some support with some tasks I need to do but need to have someone around for safety reasons and to lend a hand.
4. Different projects to do with specific knowledge and skills that I am happy to show you how or for you to bring into practice your own knowledge.
5. Possibly visiting some friends with similar projects to lend them a hand and sociallize.
...And the fun stuff that will come along with that:
1. Making different wood projects (shleves, pantry, library, library seats)
2. Making smooshy headboards for beds, sewing curtains and pillow and puffs. (also if you dont have sewing experience- this is a great way to gain some)
...And the crafts I can teach for one of our days, for you to take later and for me to preactice:
1. Notebook / book making
2. Dorodungo (japanese mud ball)
3. Any little sewing project you fancyLanguages spoken

The house is a mix of pretty and run down. I am doing this very slowly. It has 2 floors, but only the top floor is usable right now. And only half renovated / painted. My bedroom and the other bedroom are nearly done and are furnihsed, painted and warm, but the living room is pretty raw right now.
The kitchen is nearly done and fully functioning but still waiting for some things and still pretty basic. I have a wonderful garden and forest that are just wild and gorgeous, a terrace for yoga and pondering, and an inner terrace that looks pretty terrible for now but gets the sun and is great for dancing!
Very warm shower, but not the best looking one.
acommodation in a private small room in the house, with cozy bed. Or in a big bedroom with a kingsize futon bed if you're a couple.
Or you can camp in the garden in a very big tent (Best view!)
Shared toilet and shower in a seperate room.
there are public spaces to hang out in the house and around it.
And there is just really incredible view of the mountains! a creek rund close by walking distance, and a river 5 minutes by car.
There is good reception, and wifi from my hotspot. What else ...
My house is in a is a little village of old portugueese people (around 30), and me!
Its 15 minutes walk or 4 minute drive to castanheira de pera, a beautiful tiny town with supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and a lovley river and public wave pool (in summer)
By car :
Poco Corga, Praia das rocas (5 minutes)
Fragas de São Simão (20 minutes)
espinhal waterfall (30 minutes)
lake Cabril (15 minutes)
Closest beach (hour twenty)
Closest city- coimbra
And just water sources and green all around
There are buses to and from Lisbon. I tend to drive There some weekends.
It is very quiet here, unless leaving the village.
you need to want or be willing to experience life with little distractions and to have some maturity and the ability to happily spend time on your own.
Its somewhere to come for quiet time, with nature and space. Not only, but it is important to be comfortable in that.
The house is in very basic condition. some parts are messy and the living conditions are basic, which I find extremely healthy and healing, but its not for everyone. please ask me for more details if you feel that you are not as flexible.A little more information
