  Description

  We are a family of 4 (plus a gorgeous dog and a funny cat) living in the countryside of one of the most stunning places in Ireland, Clonakilty, West Cork. We are a few minutes drive to the town, beautiful beaches and the nicest of people. Clonakilty is famous for its live music scene and is the first fair trade town in Ireland. We love living here with our 2 boys, 6 and 9, who love meeting new people and learning about different cultures!! They are kind and fun boys who love a bit of adventure. We, Paul and Sinéad, have a passion for the outdoors, music, travel, gardening, languages, people, culture food and creativity. Paul is a horticulturist and works on environmental projects and is always working on DIY in the house and garden. We would warmly welcome people who are interested in spending time in our home with our family. Ideally the person sharing our home will help us with outdoor DIY projects on our ongoing restoration of an old farmhouse. We would love for our boys to learn about cultures play music, sport, and create together.

  We are living in West Cork which is steeped in culture. We as a family have a great amount of knowledge on the local area and on Irish Folklore. Our 2 boys attend an Irish speaking school so there is an opportunity to learn the beautiful old Irish language. We play music and are happy to make sure you get to experience local music gigs. Clonakilty our local town is famous for its live music and the fabulous beaches and walks on our doorstep. We love living in a renovated farmhouse in the countryside surrounded by fields and hills overlooking Clonakilty town. Our home has been a project of love for the past 4 years and we love living here.

  Help

  We would love help with our boys, playing with them and teaching them about your culture. We need to have somebody interested in gardening and DIY projects. We cook fresh daily, mostly vegetarian, help with cooking would be great. We both work different days in the week and there is an opportunity to gain horticultural skills, cob building, and restorations of old buildings. We have a friendly lovable dog that would love walks.

  Accommodation

  A renovated 4 bedroom farmhouse in the countryside of Clonakilty, West Cork. The workaway will have their own double bedroom with a large bathroom across the hall. The view looks out over the fields and trees.

  What else ...

  We are happy to show our workaway all our town has to offer and join with us on day trips, beach walks. We are also happy to support you with transport to the local bus routes in Clonakilty so you can explore the gorgeous towns of West Cork. Where we can we are happy for our workaway to drive our car once they have a full licence.
