Description
Hello travelers, we are Laure and Margaux. We own a property just over 1,5 acres in a tiny rural village midway-ish from Carcassonne and Toulouse.
About 10 years ago, in our 20’s we both traveled and worked abroad … We used to be exactly where you’re at now and know what it takes to be a helper away from home.
After 5 years of intense backpacking around the globe, we moved back home in the early 2020s and settled down in our first place.
It took us a year, a full time job and a pandemic to realize that we could do better than live in a rental surrounded by concrete … We found a piece of land t that was on sale in a tiny village and built our eco-conscisous wooden house on it.
We share our place with our 2 dogs, Lou (4 yo Australian shepherd) and Leica (3 yo Border/Pyrenees dog). They are both curious, energetic and love off-leash walks. Leica loves being outside when Lou likes to snuggle inside. Our dogs live with us and are full members of our family. We don’t ask you to love dogs but you’ll need to be comfortable around them.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are a couple of environmentalists, hard working, easy going, reliable, non-smoking people that loves animals and nature. We live a life of simplicity and try to protect our planet.
We value people with the same interests and are open to any sustainable experience you want to share.Help
For now, most of the land is untouched and definitely calling for attention.
Projects are numerous, both big and small so we are grateful for all the help we can get on the endless project list :
• Raised beds for the veggie garden
• Plant, water and collect vegetables
• Create and fence the chicken and duck coop
• Build stairs in the forest and a shed somewhere …
• Plant some trees
• Paint, woodwork, some construction, help around the house ….. YOU NAME IT !
The work can get physical but most people with an interest for sustainable projects will find something they like.
We do not follow a strict work schedule but rather respond to the happenings of the day, the weather, the mood ..
Laure works in an Organic seeds company and Margaux is a freelance photographer and also works in a touristic rural resort. We love team work but depending on the time of the year you might be working on your own a few hours a day.

She also cooked for us (amazing food!!) and was a huge help in the kitchen. She truly went above and beyond to assist in any way she could, and we deeply… read more
Even if the job was outdoor and got a bit physical, nothing was too difficult or tedious. Jay’s work ethic and output are remarkable.
She showed initiative, enthusiasm and we are so grateful for all the hard work she put on our different projects.… read more
