Description
The place, located in Teresopolis, on the mountains region of Rio de Janeiro, is an agroecological production point that has as goal to practice and spread regenerative agriculture knowledges. Here we have different fronts: certificated organic production, biodiverse agroforestry systems, essential oils destilation, particular order of organic food delivery, courses and experiences. At the moment, besides our employee, we both - Giulia and Pedro - live and work at the farm. We are a couple that believes in a better world. We stay between two natural parks, so the region is full of trekkings and waterfalls.

What does the farm offer?
• The volunteers stay in a communal accommodation, so you probably will share the time with people from all over the world.
• The farm is locater near the Três Picos State Park and the Serra dos Órgãos Nation Park (PARNASO) - around 30 minutes to one hour by car - which have untouched nature, waterfalls and trekking to explore.
• We have books avaiable for reading while staying here
• Social and cultural activities such as camp fire and friends farms visit
• There are a lot of social exchange with the local people (brazilian countryside traditional communities).Help
The volunteer tasks consists of helping in daily activities, through those you can acquire agroforestry, rural management and agroecology knowledge. Such as:
Farming - agroforestry systems implementation; soil preparation, fertilizing, planting, irrigation installation, harvest, plant nursery.
Processing - herb drying, essential oil destination/
Conservation - water and energy supply care, conviviality spaces struturation, mowing.

What does the farm offers
• Communal room accommodation (maximum 4 persons)
• If you want to camp, there is one tent avaiable, a mattress and bedding.
• Basic food itens (oil, rice, beans, pasta, coffee, sugar, salt, pasta, tomato sauce, corn flour, wheat flour, onions and garlic) and vegetables from the farm. If the volunteer needs anything else to eat, you need to provides it before arriving.
• Complete kitchen, bathroom, covered external area, shed and camping area.
• The common areas may be stay clean and organized by the volunteers.
WARNINGS:
• there is no Wi-fi in the farm, only 4G signal. So if you need internet, we suggest you to get a chip of a brazilian phone number/chip before arriving.
• Our energy supply is scarce, so we only have USB or UBS-C plugs to charge your phone. We don't have the infrastructure needed to homeoffice.
• We don’t have refrigerator, so be aware of that when buying what you need to eat.
• Respect the nature and the familiar space you are being welcomed.What else ...
Medical care and Work safety:
• Attention in every activity is the main accidents precaution.
• The volunteer that need special diets or medical necessities may inform before coming.
• Allergies and health issues may be, NECESSARILY, previously informed >>> if you have mental health issues, like anxienty, be aware: our farm is in the middle of the nature, away from the city, and you may stay alone for a few periods.
• The use of safety equipments and appropriate attire is fundamental.
_In case of accidents, the place won't be reponsable but will provide the needed help._
Extra Informations:
• To get in the farm you have to take a bus from the Rio de Janeiro main bus station (Rodoviária) to Teresópolis. And there you have to take a bus to Vieira (73A). We’ll pick you there. If you’re leaving from Rio de Janeiro, please take the 7am bus to Teresópolis, so you can get the bus that leaves at 10am to Vieira.
• We ask the volunteers to arrive ONLY WEEK DAYS. If you’re coming by car, please arrive latest 3pm.
• Don’t forget to take an amount of cash, you’ll need to pay the bus
• The closest urban centre - Vieira, is 5 km away, where you can find supermarkets, drugstore and health support.
