Description
We are developing the gardens following permaculture principles: integrating animals (horses/sheep/chickens) to fertilise the fruit forest, vegetable gardens, and riparian planting. We are on a 10-acre farm close to town, the mountain, the sea, and the mountain biking park. Our place has a lot of potential and we need help making this place more efficient and make it a community place.
We are a well-traveled family of five (with 3 teenagers) loving a good chat. We all love the outdoors: mainly adventure racing, horse riding, and mountain biking.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are a mix of Kiwi / Dutch / French cultures. I am on the farm looking after the short-term rental, the animals, and the gardens. My husband is working full time. My 19-year-old boy is in his first year at university in Canterbury studying engineering; both our 17-year-old boy and 15 year-old girl are at high school.

Help
I would love help with developing gardens, making this place more efficient thanks to your ingenuity, and growing into a more self-sufficient homestay. Help will depend on what you can offer, ranging from weeding to building additional features in the gardens and developing ways to be more self-efficient.

The accommodation will be in a 6 bedroom house while I don't have paying guests staying. You will have the full house to yourselves unless we have another helping person at the same time as you. We are living 2 km away and would love to spend as much time with you as we can, but we are an active family spending as much time outside as we can. We will only provide accommodation with the odd meals taken together. You need to have a car to be independent.
What else ...
Lots of activities you can do around: surfing/mountain biking/shopping ( all 10 mn away max), tramping on the mountain (20 mn away). You need a car to go around.
If you are keen you can play on the pool table/table tennis. We also have lots of board games.A little more information
