I love being active and outdoors -- anything like hiking, camping, surfing, skiing, kayaking, I'm all for it. I also love arts and crafts, cooking/baking, playing games, and playing a bit of guitar!

Description

Hi everyone! My name is Lexi, I'm a 23 y/o woman from the United States looking to explore the world and meet wonderful new people!

I'm very passionate about the environment -- I recently graduated with a B.S. in Natural Resource Conservation from the University of Florida, and while my academic background is in ecology, I'm really interested in learning more about agriculture and gardening from my hosts.

I have lots of experience in environmental education. I've enjoyed working as an outdoor recreation guide for my university, guiding students on backpacking, surfing, kayaking, canoeing, and skiing trips -- so I love being outdoors and staying active.

I also worked as an educator for an environmental after school program, where we taught children environmental science through gardening, and also taught them how to cook recipes with the food that we grew! I thoroughly enjoy working and playing with children, so I welcome any Workaway with kiddos!

I also worked for a year as a naturalist guide in the Rocky Mountains and taught visitors about local ecology, conservation, and history -- so I always appreciate a good tour guide! I love learning new things about an area and welcome any opportunity to learn something new from my Workaway hosts.

I'd be open to teaching English to any host that is looking to improve their fluency. As for learning a language, I'm open to practicing any other language that a host is willing to teach me! I would particularly love to learn Spanish.

- I love arts and crafts: I draw/sketch a lot, dabble in painting, and recently started trying linocut printmaking and ceramics.
- I'm a big board games fan - notable mentions go to Wingspan, Coup, Pandemic, and Codenames, but the list goes on.
- I really, really enjoy cooking and baking and would be happy to exchange some recipes :)
- I also play a bit of guitar, and although I'm no pro, I'd never say no to a good jam sesh!
- A goal of mine this year is to learn how to sail - so if you're open to teaching a rookie, I'd love to learn from you!
