    Description

Many years travelling around Australia and South East Asia in the 1970s and 80s, now I reverse travel by having the traveller come to my great little part of the world. I have hosted over 300 travellers through other cultural hospitality networks over the last 10 years, so you may say it has become somewhat of a lifestyle for me. One that I greatly enjoy!

5km from the centre of Bundaberg and 15 km from the Pacific ocean. Bus stops out the front of my house to both locations. Bicycles also available for use.

Great diving and surfing opportunities together with local cultural attractions, such as the "Burt Hinkler hall of Aviation" museum. He was the first to fly solo a single engine, open cockpit, double winged aeroplane from England to his home town of Bundaberg in 1928. He then taxied it down the street to his mum's house nearby. He was a pioneer of long distance flight which we just take for granted today and one of my heroes. "Bundaberg Rum" is exported worldwide, and you may tour of the distillery including a nip or two (after the visit, they don't like people falling into the fermentation vats :-)

Having lived here for many years, I enjoy sharing many non commercial experiences that are not on the regular tourist agendas.

I enjoy singing and playing guitar and am happy to provide some basic tuition. Guitars, ukulele and keyboards are available. I have had the good fortune and great pleasure of hosting some amazing musicians in the past. Jam sessions with my guests and muso mates are a great treat. If You are a busker, I can help with local government requirements etc.
I also hold an Australian advanced amateur radio station licence, "VK4UD", being active on the 40 & 20 meter short wave bands and local VHF. (That is kind of pre digital nerd stuff).

    Help

Jobs here include basic gardening and yard tasks, housework cleaning and general maintenance. I like to become aware of my guests skills and preferences first and then allocate the most appropriate jobs. I have been so fortunate to have some amazing help in the past by following this strategy.
If You enjoy cooking, then this rates highly as a skill, especially ethnic foods from your culture which I love to experience.
My partner here has four legs, a wagging tail and only says "woof".
Dog walking skills are highly valued and appreciated.
