We are in a very non-touristy part of Spain - Galicia - and a very non-touristy part of Galicia itself: in other words this is a very Spanish community, a lot of country people and small town folk. Learning the cultural and historic different between Galicia and other parts of Spain is fascinating, including the different language which is in many ways closer to Portuguese [we are very near the border or Portugal]. People here are reserved but extremely warm.

A beautiful stone cabin with shower and kitchenette, double bed, patio, small library (English) three minutes from the water. Beautiful walks but not much else to do! Almost no tourism & few people

Cabin is solar-powered w/ fridge, woodstove, and shower toilet, in beautiful Ribeira de Sacra 10 mins from Chantada, near Camino de Santiago & adjacent to famous Castro Candaz (Galician Atlantida) underwater fortress.

    Must provide your own food.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Time off? Well there is the beach if you drive . Lugo is a beautiful city only an hour away by bus, a city within old walls. Ourense is only 40 minutes by bus and is lovely, beautiful old town. hot spa baths also accessible. In Chantada there are lovely cafes and bars and a very pretty river with a nice walk. I am sure that you will come up with your own ideas when you research this area, according to what you love or are interested in; basically it is beautiful here and very Galician.
