Description
We have been fortunate to spend the last few long summers at our beautiful, old manor house in South West France and have hosted some fabulous Workaways during that time.
We have experience of Workaways who have both worked with us and those who have acted as 'housesitters' and taken great care of the house during our time back in the UK. Many of these Workaways keep in touch & some have already planned return visits. We love sharing stories with our visitors over dinner in the evenings or whilst weeding, cleaning or painting together.
We have an unexpected availability from 2-14 September and then from the beginning of October we are looking to find a workaway couple to have an extra pair of hands to help us close up the pool and tackle some autumn gardening chores. We are also particularly interested in a couple with previous experience of old houses and big gardens who are interested in staying on into November or December as housesitters. If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you.
The Chalosse countryside in Les Landes is lovely. The locals are friendly and the village is peaceful. We are however, just an hour away from beautiful beaches and a couple of hours away from the Pyrenees. -

The locality itself and the friendly locals will enable opportunities for those wishing to improve their French. We both speak some french and would love to introduce beginners to the language.
We have lots of local knowledge to share with our Workaways. -
Help
General housework and gardening, including some weeding and tidying etc.
We have a gardener who comes once a month but there are always gardening duties to do. When we are there, we love working together with our workaway volunteers and exchanging stories and ideas. -

Accommodation
Own bedroom and ensuite bathroom either in the main house or in the studio apartment which has its own fully fitted kitchen and shower room.
We can provide twin beds or a super king. -
What else ...
The village location is quiet and peaceful.
There are lovely walks and places to visit both towards the coast (from Capbreton to Biarritz & St Jean de Luz) towards the pretty Pyrenees.
The local market in Dax (25 min drive) is full of fabulous local produce and is a Saturday highlight. -
