    Description

Our project is a Vedic (Hare Krishna) temple and community which bases its life on thousands years old scriptures from ancient India. Meditation, yoga and spirituality play an important role in our community. Apart from fully functioning Vedic temple with
its traditional rituals and rites, we also have cow protection project, as well as gardens and fields, where we always need a lot of help (especially in the summer time). We also have various art projects going on throughout the year. We always try to engage volunteers according to their skills and talents.

We are an Ashram and Farm community in the beautiful "Bavarian Forest Nature Park" in the heart of Europe. Our project was established in 1979.

We offer an opportunity to spend quality time together in a spiritual atmosphere and with great vegetarian cooking. We dance, chant and eat together!

We have a unique Temple, which became a place of pilgrimage for the visitors from all around the world. We also have a guest house and 17 ha of land and eight cows so far (some rescued).

Here you can spend your time in an eco-friendly farm with a cow protection project and a community of some 40 members (singles) practicing an ancient bhakti yoga system and living a simple life in harmony with nature and divine principles.

We organize numerous spiritual festivals throughout the year and teach spirituality to interested people.

    ALL YEAR profile needed:
    - GARDENING / FARMING - we are also looking for someone on long term basis
    - HOUSEHOLD/TEMPLE BUILDING HELP - general chores and friendliness required!
    - DIY/BUILDER - We need someone to help around the farm for daily maintenance. If you are that way orientated, this project is a dream of reparation!
    - We are always looking for good web designers for WP and for graphic designers.
    - Electrician. Renovator

To keep the atmosphere sacred and conducive to spiritual growth we restrain from following:

    - eating non-vegetarian food (meat, fish or eggs)
    - taking intoxication such as tobacco, alcohol or drugs
    - illicit sex (sex out of marriage)

From our volunteers it is expected to take daily one temple program around 1 hour as a part of community, be it lecture, individual meditation, group music meditation, or any other ceremony, as part of their integration to the community and deeper understanding of the philosophy and lifestyle. Our volunteers are happy to have a chance to get to know better this tradition, and we are always open to guide them and answer any questions they have.

    Special request on Dress Code:
Because of monks (celibate men and women) living on the property, in order to respect their vows of celibacy, ladies and men are requested to dress in certain attire

    IMPORTANT Notice:
Because of many volunteers on our project from other organizations and our own volunteers we are offering the same deal as we have had for years in our community with a working time and free days - maximum 5 days work in a week and minimum 4 hours a day. Volunteers can stay up to one month. For a longer arrangements, need to be discussed with management on the spot.

Our long term vision is to establish self-sufficient project that will also be an important place of pilgrimage in Europe and a tourist attraction in the Bavarian forest for the spiritually minded people.

We are 40km from the Bavarian town of Passau. The best way to reach us is by train or bus to Passau and then by bus to Waldkirchen or Jandelsbrunn Post bus stop. Please try to arrive during daytime as after 6.30 PM there are almost no connections to Jandelsbrunn / Waldkirchen and you will have to stay overnight in Passau. From Jandelsbrunn / Waldkirchen we can pick you up by car at the Jandelsbrunn Post bus hut (first stop in Jandelsbrunn) or Waldkirchen Busbahnhof. Please drop us your mobile number and arrange your pick up in advance. Or if you want to explore the area by foot (about 25 minutes walk from Jandelsbrunn), we are in a village called Zielberg.
Link to the bus time table: (search for departure Passau Hauptbahnhof and destination Jandelsbrunn Post. Red Ostbayern bus no. 6122 is standing in front of the train station on the right and new private bus line 100 from the 5th bus stop next to the train station on the right hand-side). If you need help to arrange your transportation, do not hesitate to write and ask.
