Description
Hello, after years and years of working, I am now retired.
Dec 25 - Feb 26 I was in Australia for 3 where I have completed my first housesit in Brisbane. I looked after two sausage dogs and the home of my hosts for 2 weeks. My hosts left me with their car and I had a great time and they came back to a clean house and happy dogs.
In May 26, I was in France where completed my first Workaway experience in a stunning chateau with amazing hosts and getting completely hooked on this new way of life. I feel honoured to have been able to help so many numerous jobs, working along side them and being left to just get on with things.
I am a healthy fit and happy person, age is just a number, and when I am too old, then I will settle down and "retire" (unlikely :)
I am, a mum of 3 (all grown up) a nanna of 6 & 1/2(2yrs to 17yrs) 1 x foster baby, was an accountant, a coach driver, a minibus driver, I can cook, clean, speak English; love helping out, have an allotment and am independent and am not ready to "retire". I also volunteer at our local Hospice.
My next Workaway is booked in, 2 weeks in Spain.
After that, well who knows............................

More details about your skills
I am an accountant and use Xero accounting software - I have taught so many people over the years.
Some years ago, I was a little fed up with my normal accounts role, and as I was working in a company that supplied coach and minibus hire, I decided to get my licence, and passed first time - (reversing in a coach when you are 5ft 2" hahahah) This is my fun part time job and am currently doing a school run. This means I also have DBS (that is an enhanced police clearance)
In 2020/21 my little mum had to go into a care home, and because of COVID, I was not allowed to see her. So I worked hard and became qualified so that I could, and did work in the care home so I could be with her. That meant I also had the adult DBS.
In 2006, again bored of accounting, I decided to have a change and bought the local bakery and ran that for 6 years. (Hard early morning graft). So I can even make a cake.
My new Workaway experience has shown me I can help with lots of jobs, pool, sorting rooms, ironing, cleaning, drinking wine, painting, weeding and loads of things. I like to help -

What else ...
I love walking, (not massive hills these days,)
I enjoy taking children on adventures and finding simple things to occupy them with.
E.g. when my grandkids were young, we found a castle (a mound of ground that looked like a castle), we set up an orchestra (using twig drums and straw penny whistles) and put on a performance (well it sounded good to us)
I am quite a "home" person, I like swimming and although I do like a good glass of wine, am not a big drinker. I enjoy a few nights out but am not a party animal.
I have just passed my basic TESL (teaching English as a Second Language) so am ready to help you learn to communicate in my mother tongue. -

A great sense of humour and easy to be around … read more
From the moment I met Kerry and then Martin, the experience started.
Made to feel completely at “home” from the very first moment until the day I left the home sparkling clean and tidy, I enjoyed working hard along side the incredible pair of hosts. We laughed and we drank wine and ate amazing food.
