  • Description

    Description

We are a couple living in a beautiful château in the French countryside with our dog, horses and donkeys.

We run a small chambre d’hôtes ( but we are not looking for help in that direction) and are gradually bringing new life to this historic place and peaceful village.

We feel very lucky to live here. The surroundings are peaceful, with open fields, forests and next to the river ‘la Meuse’ and we truly enjoy the rhythm of nature and outdoor life.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and welcoming guests from all over the world who come to stay at our château. Throughout the year, we host visitors from many different countries and cultures, which creates a lively and inspiring atmosphere. We love sharing meals, stories and experiences around the table. In return for your help, we offer a welcoming home, a unique setting, and the chance to experience authentic rural life in France while being part of an international environment.

  • Help

    Help

Our château is full of character and history, but like many old houses, it always comes with projects.

We are currently looking for practical, hands-on help with outdoor and field work. The help is physical and mainly takes place outside.

Tasks can include selecting and stacking natural stones, pruning trees and shrubs, feeding the horses, and cleaning out the stables.

There is always something to do in the countryside, and we truly appreciate motivated people who enjoy working outdoors.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Workawayers will stay in the château itself. You will have your own private bedroom with a washbasin. The bathroom is shared with other guestrooms. If there are several Workawayers at the same time, it is possible that you may share a room with one other person. We want everyone to feel comfortable and at home, and we do our best to create a respectful and relaxed living atmosphere.

We usually share meals together and see this as an important part of the experience. We cook and eat as a small community, and we expect everyone to help a little with preparing meals and cleaning up afterwards. It is all about teamwork and creating a warm, easy-going atmosphere around the table.

    What else ...

Our village is a bit remote and not easy to reach by public transport. However, we are happy to pick you up from various train stations in Belgium or France, so getting here is no problem. We’ll make sure your journey to the château is as smooth and comfortable as possible.
