We have a working kennel of 26 beautiful loving , hard working Siberian Huskies situated on 10 acres in a small rural community an hour west of Whitehorse in the Yukon. Our log home is on grid with full amenities, and our guests/helpers and handlers share our home with us. With summer quickly coming to an end it is time to get training dogs for the winter mushing season. I will be participating in a number of races with the dogs and really hope to go to Alaska for a 300 mile race in January. I an looking for one person or a couple who are keen to come for the whole winter to help with the dog care, and training/ running of dogs. Ideally it would be amazing to get someone with experience in working with dogs but if you are enthusiastic and willing to learn then we have a place for you!

Must love dogs and feel comfortable working with a lot of dogs. Skill with fencing , maintenance and mechanical is always a bonus! Must be comfortable working and playing outside in the cold for extended periods.
In house, your own room , share the house with us. We will make dinner and provide food for breakfast and lunch, if you like to cook then that’s Bonus too! We heat with wood so packing firewood and feeding the fire are part of our daily chores.
The Yukon is amazing and there is a lot to discover here!! For the lover of wilderness and outdoor activity there is endless opportunity, and the nearby city of Whitehorse has no end of cultural activity, irs a hub of music and art! We do go fairly regularly to the city.
