    Description

    Hello workaway friends,

Welcome and thank you for your interest and curiosity. Our Eco-Habitat is a sustainable learning place that positively contributes to a healthy eco system. We would like to invite you to become a volunteer in our unique ecological project and community. Our farm is located on a southern slope in the Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche. We, Sebo and Bastiaan, are happy to meet you and learn and work with you towards a sustainable future. We started hosting since 2016, we have hosted over 140 people from not less then 24 nationalities, we really enjoy meeting a huge variety of travellers from all around the world - we learn as much from our guests as they do from us :)

** Please read our entire profile so you understand how it is to live in a small community and the kind of work we do. **

Our beautiful terrain consists 7 hectares of forest with its own well that provides us with drinking water. We live off grid and produce our own electricity. The river Bésorgues flows over our land and is located 80 meters below the farm. We swim here every day. When we don't work we are celebrating the naturist lifestyle.

Sometimes we start in the mornings with spiritual exercises or a meditation. We physically work an average of four hours a day in the food forest or vegetable garden. This is good for our personal health and it teaches us physically how much energy needs to be produced for a regenerative and ecological living system. Every day we reflect for ten minutes in a personal place somewhere on our site. In the afternoon you are free to do as you please. In the evenings we usually have dinner together and tell each other stories about wonderment in nature that day. These are often special and rich moments in which we really meet. You share a nicely furnished bedroom with another volunteer. We all share the bathroom. In addition, we have a cozy and beautiful space where you can retreat from time to time.

We are hosting mostly four volunteers at the same time. We like to show commitment to our volunteers and we ask them to do the same towards our eco habitat. Therefore two weeks is the minimum period if you are interested in participating in our project. Characteristic of our project is that we live nude in a small community. Everyone is naked when we are not working and when the weather permits, which is almost always the case in the summer months. You don't have to be experienced in this, but we do ask you to go along with it. We understand that living the nudist lifestyle can be a unusual. Therefore we are creating a very body positive and safe environment. Naturism strengthens our social connection and the connection with nature.

Social engagement is another important component in a sustainable ecosystem. We make sure that everyone has a good time by looking out for each other. In concrete terms, this means occasionally taking a broom to clean the rooms, making a cup of coffee for someone else and spontaneously extending a helping hand when cooking or cleaning up.

Do you have the desire to live like an ecological person who respects the earth and chooses a lifestyle that suits it? Are you interested in: Living the change and get empowered to share inspiring stories for a sustainable future. Just drop us some lines. And use the words: Social Naturism.

We would love to know you better. Experience has shown that it is important to make personal contact first. That is why we would like to have a FaceTime chat with you (without any further obligations) We are really interested in your stories as well. So we both have the opportunity to see if there is a click.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We like to share knowledge about deep ecology, permaculture, food forest design and sustainable farming. We practice yoga, meditation, qi gong, and green mindfulness.

Our Eco-Habitat is a place where we make a deep connection with the essence of ourselves and where nature helps us to understand the lessons of life.

Living in and with nature also means naturism ( fkk ) for us. We noticed that living together in a small naturist community gives all those involved new inspiration and energy. Social naturism and body positivity gives us the opportunity to make meaningful connections with each other. It’s important for us to host diverse, men and women, everybody is welcome. We are supporting non sexual naturism and we are LGBTQ friendly.

Sebo is born in the autumn of 1966 in the Netherlands. He is the owner of a consultancy firm specialized in learning organizations. He is also writing his thesis about organisational agility and learning networks. Here also the ideas of permaculture are applicable, because using the benefits of diversity and "companion planting" are also fundamental for learning from each other. We are also developing a learning network with people who join our project.

Bastiaan is born in the summer of 1969. He is an easy-going and passionated man also born in the Netherlands. He has a background is an professional operasinger and former elite soldier. His favorite opera is Parsifal from R. Wagner. Books he likes to read are: 'Walden' by D.Thoreau or L' etranger by A. Camus. He is graduated as an applied eco psychologist and also works as a ecological advisor and nature therapist & coach.

We, Sebo and Bastiaan are a happily married gay couple for 27 years and the proud fathers of 2 kids in a rainbow family. Feel free to write us if you have any questions.

  • Help

    Help

If you are joining us, we are asking you to work with joy and energy and give us also some real physical help. We are working in the food forest and vegetable garden, building terrace walls or chopping wood and other work that has to be done on a farm. Sometimes we are doing a beautiful ritual to pay gratitude to the medicine plant sage and making sage-syrup.

Unfortunately we feel the necessity to express ourselves and be a bit more outspoken then we normally would like:

We take great care to ensure that performance and reward are balanced, we don't accept helpers who are not really interested in our philosophy and concept. We are living in an small community, which means living together and sharing together, we expect that everybody naturally and without asking, clean parts of the farm, like you would do in your own place too. We see this part not as work-away hours, but just commonality: We’re not a restaurant nor a guesthouse with housekeeping, but a community. That takes more than doing the dishes. We are asking you to leave your phone in the farm during the work and the dinners. We really like to connect with the land and each other. You will experience that our community lifestyle is very fulfilling, grateful and gives a lot of meaningfulness.

Also important to notice: if you confirm your stay with us and cancel it at short notice this would be unfair for helpers who asked to come but couldn't come because we didn't have a free position anymore and unfair towards us because we also need to plan our projects.

But the uniqueness of our ecological project is what we mentioned before: Living the change and get empowered to share inspiring stories for a sustainable future.

We are surrounded by beautiful hiking and biking trails and canyoning possibilities. Opportunities for climbing are very close. But the most added value we provide is the opportunity to make a deep and spiritual connection with nature and therefore with yourself.

Do you have the desire to live like an ecological person who respects the earth and chooses a lifestyle that suits it.

Are you interested in connecting more deeply with the earth, the animals, the plants, the water and your inner nature? Would you like to feel that this is a fantastic experience that gives us vitality, liveliness and enthusiasm?

Just join us and write a small motivation why you are attracted to our philosophy and concept. We are really looking forward meeting you.
