Description
My name is Giorgio, I am retired and live alone in my 1 hectare of land where I cultivate organic in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia various plants ( olives, oranges, kumquat, loquat, mandarins, avocadoes, banana, etc. ) for self consumption and that mean that I make not business. I also take care of a little vegetable garden and a collection of cactus and succulents. I have a cat and a dog. The land looks like a botanical garden (paradise).

I am Italian and speak also fluent German, travellers can learn both languages. They can learn a lot about botany and agricolture and how to make delicious jam. Travelers can visit near by natural reserve or cities such as Catania and Syracuse that belong to the cultural human heritage (UNESCO) and make trekking on the Etna.

I need help with pruning, harvesting (olives in October-November, loquat in April-May and Kaki in September-October), preparing, fertilizing and weeding the vegetable garden. I would also appreciate help with making jam.

Accommodation
Accommodation is in verandas outsite, one single and one double, both furnished with bed, table, chairs and beautiful views of the garden and of Mount Etna. I am happy to accommodate both vegan and vegetarian diets.

Fiumefreddo di Sicilia the city where I live, is situated between the sea (25 minutes walk) and Mount Etna.
I love to live my life in nature, with my dog and cat. I expect that volunteers respect my house as guests and share my lifestyle in nature. The railway station is 30 minute walk and the airport of Catania a 45 minute drive. Taormina, the most famous tourist city in Sicily is 15 km away. I place two mountain and two city bikes at my guest's disposal gratis.
During their time off helpers can visit near by natural reserve or cities such as Catania and Syracuse that belong to the cultural human heritage (UNESCO) and make trekking on the Etna, maybe with Me. Guests can pick up directly from the tree following fruits: mandarin January - March, orange December - November, Kiwi January - March, Loquat April - May, mulberry May, banana June - November, fig August, arbutus November - December, kunquat February - March, avocado December - March, almond August - September. Every two years there are the Oliveharvest in October.
