Sif was a wonderful volunteer – kind, friendly, responsible, and always willing to help. She brought great energy, worked well with others, and made a real contribution to the community. We truly appreciated her presence and would happily welcome her back anytime.

I stayed with Martine and George for a week in June 2025 and was warmly welcomed. I stayed in a fully furnished flat on the ground floor of their house, with a kitchen and private bathroom, which was very handy and allowed me to both work and rest comfortably. In exchange, I helped Martine sand and paint the shutters for a couple of hours each morning. This left me plenty of time to focus on my online work and explore the surrounding area. Reillanne is a beautiful little village in the Luberon. Their house is located just outside the village, so you can walk in easily, which is really convenient. The village has a lively and authentic atmosphere, with lovely cafés and beautiful walks in every direction. It’s a great spot for those who enjoy peaceful countryside and small local markets. Martine and George are super kind and welcoming hosts, and their two dogs, Buzz and Casey, are full of love and always happy to share it. A great experience !

I had an incredible stay with Seijun, he welcomed me into his family as if I were one of them! I loved sharing moments and our different cultures by living and working with him. He introduced me to a whole host of typical Japanese dishes, each as delicious as the next. I highly recommend going to his place. Marin Leray

Nuestra primera experiencia Workaway fue en la finca de Vero y Thierry, ayudados por Mauri, y fue increíble en todo: el lugar, la compañía, la organización del trabajo, el intercambio cultural... la verdad es que lo hemos disfrutado muchísimo y la experiencia nos ha abierto ojos y corazón! Hola! Estuve 4 semanas en la fundación. Para mi fue una experiencia muy interesante, diversa y unica. Siempre habian tareas como ayudar distribuir la comida, pintan cosas, ayuda en la huerta, el invernadero, con los gallos, conejos o gatos etc.. Nunca era aburrido. El trabajo con los chicos y niños era interesante también. Es posible para participar en acciones o clases si esta bien por los profes. Todo la gente que trabaja allá son muy amables y la comida es increíble. Si tienes preguntas o dudas Martin el jefe siempre está allá para hablar y resolver cosas y a menudo hay eventos como asados o salir juntos. Recomiendo este lugar de 100 %. Es un hogar y familia afuera tu pais. Gracias.

Merci à Emmanuelle, David et les enfants pour leur accueil ! Nous avons partagé 2 semaines pleines d'échanges culturels, d'activités et d'émotions. Ce fut pour notre famille une très belle rencontre.

My husband and I learned so much in the ten days that we were with Daniel. It was so much fun, except for the weather that did not help. It was quite cold at the beginning of November. Thank you!!

Lots to say about Johannes and Deborah, and it's only good things. They were proactive, willing, excited and attentive. They thoroughly followed tasks to completion, with precision and dedication. They were curious, engaged, ready to listen as well as to share. Clean and tidy, we had a wonderful time with them in our house, shared meals and played games, and it never felt like they were not helpful or not pulling their weight. Helped a lot in the house and had perfect common sense. We would have them back anytime, and highly recommend them to anybody. Thanks again :)

I had such a great time at Silvia's. I worked 8 am to 1 pm with a nice long coffee/breakfast break in between. She seemed very appreciative of the work I and the other workawayers did. I met two other very nice workawayers at her place. There's great towns around her area and the Friesian culture is very interesting and she told me places to go and gave me rides. The food was hearty and plentiful. And I had a nice clean bedroom. I hope one day she will visit me in USA.

Tom is a very friendly and polite young man. He worked hard in the garden. We enjoyed the time together with Tom and my adult children in the free time. Tom can come to us anytime again.

Kadence worked diligently on a 3 day hedgecleaning project, among other things. She tackled some thick branches and used a ladder. She made excellent use of her afternoons and dove into my location with great curiosity. I really appreciated this workawayer as someone exploring the world. SHe is welcome back anytime!

Vielen Dank! Diese Aufenthalt hat mir gut gefallen. Rita was patient with my German and was an excellent host. I lacked nothing. The village next to Bentwisch is quiet and calm (refreshing after a big city). It’s not too far from Rostock which is also generally a quiet and calm place. The nearest beach is 1hr 30 by bike and pleasant but I preferred the more primeval Warnemünde beach on the other side of the Rostock harbour (involved more walking however). The tasks were simple and generally pleasant. It’s a beautiful garden to work in. I also got to participate in Underwater Rugby with Rita‘s son. That was a very unique experience. An absolute dream I spent seven weeks with this great family. It was my first workaway experience and it couldn't have been better. Right from the start I felt very welcome and comfortable. I was able to work in many different ways. From working in the garden, to repairing water pipes, cutting down trees, renovating the future studio and much more. The place is beautiful, right on the river and surrounded by nature. If you are there at the right time, you can pick cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and more directly from the garden and swim in the river every day. If you go canoeing or stand up paddle boarding on the river you will be accompanied by Youki (the dog). Like everyone else, I have to say that Liza cooks incredibly well. The fact that I am vegetarian was no problem for them and I always had an alternative when they ate meat (they rarely ate meat though). I really enjoyed my time with Sam and Lucie and was able to learn a bit of French through them. When the children were asleep, Alex, Liza, Elise and I played card games or just chatted a bit. I haven't been this happy and relaxed for a long time. The seven weeks went by far too quickly. Thank you Liza, Alex, Sam and Lucie for everything! Je reviens

Working at the shelter was an incredible experience! It's my first time volunteering with animals and I highly recommend this experience. The first few days are difficult because you see animals that arrive in deplorable situations, but over time you see them recovering and you start to feel affection for the dogs that already live in the shelter and have recovered, and you feel as if they were yours. I was hosted by the Mehta family and they were wonderful people. I really felt at home. I was sick for a period of my stay and they helped me a lot. Thank you to the shelter staff and the Mehta family for all their help. I 100% recommend this experience.

I really enjoyed my stay with Michael and his son! They are both incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. Although my time there was short, I was able to experience so many amazing things, from exploring Samford to trying delicious new foods I had never had before. I also really appreciated the chance to get a lift into the city on my day off, where I was able to spend some time and even spontaneously meet up with friends. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this Workaway experience to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay with great people.

A lovely couple from the USA, extrovert, open, passionate about saving the environment, and creating a more egalitarian society. They were also great fun to be with. They are quick learners and did some excellent work for us, the main achievement being to prepare and plant a 26 meter hedge and build a mainly bamboo fence behind it. This was hard work and they did it perfectly. We loved them to bits! Highly recommended.

Aimo was a fantastic Workawayer who embraced the experience with great enthusiasm, even when stepping far out of his comfort zone. He adapted incredibly quickly and surprised us with how much he enjoyed physical work, gardening, and being outdoors. Not only did he learn fast, but he also did an excellent job in every task—whether it was gardening, helping in the kitchen, or even painting a wall. Beyond his hard work, Aimo is a kind, polite, and easygoing person who fit seamlessly into our household. We shared many enjoyable moments, from conversations about life experiences to relaxing with Netflix. His positive attitude and willingness to help made his stay a real pleasure. We highly recommend Aimo to any host and would happily welcome him back anytime. If he returns to Biel, we’d love to see him again!
