I spent three and a half weeks working on Steve and Parissa's renovation project. They are extremely kind, understanding, and flexible. The work is very varied, as both the land and the house undergoing renovation are large. You will live in a special house for Workawayers (between 2 and 8 people), which is a great way to meet and interact with other travelers. This was my first Workaway experience and I am very grateful to have ended up here for my first time. I won't hesitate to go back if the opportunity arises. I highly recommend it!

Everything I wanted to say has of course been raved about already:) Here's what stood out to me personally: Marco as a host understands his role really well. He is a very nurturing and patient presence, always ready to give advice, show us the relevant skill and drop tips for weekend trips. I was initially a bit skeptical of his god-like esteem on the mountain but it turned out to be absoloutely well-founded. He is an incredibly knowledgeable guy (don't forget to ask him about his previous careers!) who gives relentlessly and, in return, asks only for a manageable labour contribution towards his community hub vision for the breathtaking Monte Cima. Every volunteer here struck gold and knows it. Onwards: I loved being able to camp outside in the tents whenever I felt like it. The other volunteers are reliably easy to get along with (I was in 2 groups) Therapeutic working, Swiss cheeses, good weather and good vibes, overall this was such a powerful and resetting experience for me and if these things sound up your street, I would highly, highly recommend.

I had such a wonderful time with Sharon, Vic and the family! I instantly felt right at home with such a friendly family. I was astounded at how amazing the accommodation was (after spending a lot of time at hostels!!), I left feeling rested and refreshed having such a private space with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I really enjoyed sitting down for meals with the whole family, and enjoyed some delicious food and plenty of treats! Sharon gave clear instructions on what she needed help with around the house and garden, with simple tasks that were fun to crack on with in my own time. She made sure that I had plenty of time to explore the area, and had tons of great recommendations. I went out for a long cycle around the vineyards and plenty of lovely walks nearby. I really enjoyed my time in Blenheim, and it really was a pleasure to meet this lovely family - thanks again!

We stayed for a week. We were forced to leave due major force circumstances. Bummer! Marija and Thibaut are lovely guys who put all their effort in the little corner of paradise they built. Work was fine, we've helped housekeeping, cleaning the beach, give a hand in the kitchen and at the bar, create a bond with customers. Accomodation was a two bedroom two bathroom traditional Cambodian house in a small village. We've had the chance to live like and with locals and this was absolutely amazing. Recommended!

Having vivi with us was such a wonderfully fun experience we had a great connection. The love ‘of food!!’ Vivi showed me some of her recipes and I did some of mine . Vivi did all her daily chores and even more she is a true inspiration who ever host vivi will be very happy with her nothing is to hard for her and she puts her heart into it .. miss you vivi though we will be seeing you soon again yay!!!

Edel its been wonderful have her here with us it certainly helped us alot she did everything that was expected and much more not only were her work ethics on piont but as a person she became a wonderful friend . My daughter who gets iffy with people absolutely felt comfortable and safe around adel she still says she misses her . Who ever has adel and a workawayer will benefit greatly

david was amazing. he quickly adapted to life here and was happily able to tackle each and every task. he has a great attitude and demeanor -- and is super interesting to chat with after all his travels. i believe he is the kind of person who can fit in well everywhere!

Anna and Graham are incredibly kind people and wonderful musicians. They have a truly beautiful house and property. Graham is a fantastic cook, and the food was always very delicious and healthy. While I was there, they were building a small cabin in their forest, and some trees had already been cut. I offered to take care of chopping and stacking the wood, which I really enjoyed. I also did some garden work and helped out with a few other small tasks around the property. They also took me with them to gigs in Vancouver and in Roberts Creek, which was a great experience. Graham showed me around the area, drove me to different places, and we went on several hikes together. They always made me feel very welcome and included me in everything, whether they had friends visiting or other activities planned. If you are a musician or you enjoy a quieter, more remote place in beautiful Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast, this is probably the perfect spot for you. And they also have a very sweet cat named Misty. =) Thank you so much! All the best, Alwin 😊

Mariana and her families are a great choice to stay with in Merida, although not in the city center, but it's very peace and quite in the compound. Bruna is the cutest dog you can walk around and play with every single day, which can be very clingy! Maria Martin and Emilia are probably the most polite and easygoing kids I have ever dealt with, making me less afraid of life after marriage and kids and even cured part of my childhood traumas(my most unexpected gain). Being taken in as part of the family and go to the football matches to watch the kids and dinner on weekends are just total warm-hearted for me! You will get a private room with bathroom and talk to them in English when the kids are back home, also they are very willing to help with you learning Spanish too! Very chill and would definitely wanna come back here gain! Highly recommend!

Had such amazing experience with Paola. Such an amazing human and the work was light, just helping with some content creating. The place was comfy and she made me feel right at home. Was so welcoming and showed me all around town and helped me create better habits. Forever grateful for my time there.

Kateryna stayed with us for two weeks, and it was a truly positive and enriching experience for everyone involved. This was her first volunteering experience, and she approached it with great openness, trust, and responsibility. From the very beginning, she was respectful, caring, and attentive to the house and shared spaces. She contributed in many beautiful ways: -she cooked traditional dishes twice, which were delicious and shared with care; -she offered massage sessions, always with sensitivity and professionalism; -she shared her talents with the community by facilitating a "flower arrangement workshop" and an "ecstatic dancing session", both of which were very well attended and warmly received. Kateryna integrated naturally into our community, made many friendships, and participated actively in daily activities and classes. She joined all the practices at the Refúgio, showing great body awareness and flexibility. An aspect worth highlighting is that she felt comfortable and safe moving around the city on her own during her free time. She explored the surroundings calmly and confidently, which also reflects a positive and welcoming environment in our city. Overall, Kateryna is a kind, pleasant, and trustworthy person. We were very happy to host her and grateful for the mutual exchange. I would gladly recommend her to other hosts. Warmly, Luc

Thank you so much Johanna and Tomas! Getting here from the airport is easy with an Uber or the metro. The neighborhood is very peaceful and safe, and there’s a huge shopping mall just a 5 minute walk away. We stayed in a semi-open room that also serves as their daily kitchen storage. From day one, they are very clear about the pace, everything is done day by day, so it’s a flexible experience. At home, we mainly walked their incredibly well-behaved dog and helped with house chores. On other days, we went with them across the city where they are starting their business, assisting with final preparations. We also joined them in catering events and had the chance to explore lots of amazing local food at the market. It was a unique experience, and we felt involved in real projects while discovering the local culture. We wish you all the success!

Milena e Paula sono state qui nei mesi più caldi dell' estate. Due ragazze solari e divertenti ed educare, sempre pronte ad aiutare non si sono mai tirate indietro. Erano diventante parte della family. Sono state un sostegno per la nostra famiglia e per gli animali. Quando volete tornare sapete di avere una casa in Sicilia.

Nicolas stayed at the glamping for a short time, but it was a real pleasure to host him. He is a very helpful and kind person, easy to communicate with, spontaneous, and always ready to lend a hand whenever needed. He approached every task with a positive attitude and was reliable and proactive, even without much guidance. Beyond the work, Nicolas is a genuinely nice guy, respectful, open-minded, and easy to be around, which made the experience very smooth and enjoyable. I truly appreciated his help and his presence, and I would absolutely recommend Nicolas to any host. He is welcome back anytime!

We enjoyed having Ashleigh as our first workawayer. She is super easy going, always in a good mood and eager to help where needed. Her cooking skills were highly appreciated as well as her hands on cleaning projects we had. She didn't mind getting her hands dirty, help in the farm and was very nice with the animals as well. We can absolutely recommend her and as she is a boat person, who are usually very easy going and skilled persons, you won't regret having her either. Thanks again Ash for your support and great time we spent!

I had such an amazing experience with this family! They were incredibly kind and welcoming, and always made me feel at home. Taking care of the animals and the place was a real pleasure. I truly enjoyed every moment and I can only highly recommend this Workaway. I really hope to come back someday :)

I stayed with Ken, Danica, and Kalea for four weeks in November and had an amazing time with the whole family. They are incredibly open and kind people, and it truly felt like being part of their family. I learned a lot about Canadian culture, Indigenous band culture, and daily life on a bison ranch in a beautiful location (and also that I definitely didn’t bring enough warm clothes for that season, but thankfully they helped me out xd). The work was fair and not too hard, with flexible schedules, so it was always easy to plan trips or days off. I can absolutely recommend this place. If you love nature and animals, this is a must-do Workaway — and I would definitely come back if I get the chance. To your whole family: Thank you for all the great, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I’ll miss everything from the animals and the food to the view over the whole valley from my bedroom window. We'll keep in touch!

The time I spent with Kevin and Kinga was simply incredible. Kinga and Kevin are two absolutely impressive, open and warm people with a captivating charisma. I was warmly welcomed into the team and ultimately, the planned three months turned into nine months that I would never want to have missed in my life. Yes, there was a lot to do: cleaning the guest rooms, making sure the laundry was done, checking guests in and out, serving in the restaurant, guiding guests and much more.. Kevin and Kinga have a lot of ideas ;) ... it was a big, colourful, varied bouquet full of adventure and cheerful team spirit in the heartbeat of this place. For me, dreams came true here – I was able to take part in many activities, be it survival training, snowmobile tours, Arctic skiing, sleeping in the snow at -17 degrees. It is the spirit of adventure, the authenticity of the experience, the joy of adventure and the magical landscape that make this place so incredibly magical and precious. I loved my stay there at all. I can recommend this place to anyone who is willing to open their heart, ready to feel and go with the rhythm here for a great adventure. Thank you so much for these fantastic nine months together with you and your place. I am sure we see us again :)

I had the privilege of staying with Pippa last-minute for a week during the last week of transitioning houses/rehoming the animals at the sanctuary. I would highly recommend her as a host for any future Workawayers if she takes them on again. She is a powerhouse and takes excellent care of the animals at the sanctuary, and she treats Workawayers with kindness and generosity. I left the Workaway with an immense amount of respect for her and the work she is doing/has done over the years rescuing animals. :)
