Hello my name is Marco, with other volunteers we work to create a meeting point for our community and the people who visit this region. We are a non-profit association and our donors have given us an old house from the 17th century and a beautiful farmhouse in the high mountains with meadows and pine forests to make something new by involving enthusiastic people like you.
We need help to renovate the house and the farmhouse but also ideas to develop activities and proposals to pursue at every step the goal of sustainable development. We are currently working to make possible to use our land relax and practice yoga or meditation.

With us you will have an out of confort zone experience, based on dialogue and sharing.
Exploring the surrounding nature, in the peace of mountain life, or spending your free time in the sun by the Maggia river.
Ideal if you like nature.
Since we are in a remote area we will provide a car (manual gear) to drive down to the village or discover the region.
Use of the car is free of change for labor activities. We change 50 cts per km, gasoline included, when used for your leisure.
If you miss people around you can walk or drive down to the village. For the crowds, however, you will have to go to the city of Locarno and the Lake Maggoire area, Bellinzona with its three castles or Lugano on the Ceresio lake. During the summer, many small local events will allow you authentic contact with the people. If you are looking for live music, there are many folk festivals or live concerts between June and August.

We are renovating our house at the village and hut in the mountains and at the same time we are developing our artistic, cultural and recreational offers.
We are looking for help in different actievities, cleaning, painting, material removal, forest and pasture care and construction of small wooden structures to create a camping place in the mountain.
!! IMPORTANT!!
To perform our activities, you need to have, sturdy work shoes and resistent work clothes.

Accommodation
We can host up to 5 volunteers in a completely independent stone house im the mountain over the village of Menzonio where we live you may experience a simple but confortable way of life whit domitory kitchen and bathroom.
In general, we cook and eat the lunch (italian country style) all together. If you are vegan we will try our best to provide the necessary to prepare your dishes. In case you are celiacs we need to discuss in advance your needs to avoid any health issues.
We pay attention to a healthy and abundant diet with seasonal products taking into account as far as possible all your desires.
Other foods or products are instead to be purchased at your expense such as:
chocolate, toffees and sweets, alcohol, personal hygiene and body care products, cosmetics and medicines.

I will not write much cause Marco has already a lot of good feedback but being there was very chill and quiet. Menzogno is a really small town with a lot around to walk and trek, a river, waterfall. i did it Spring but they say in summer it's even better to Live Up in the mountains in a simple house.
