I’m currently taking a break from travelling around Australia & happy to share an authentic experience living with an Aussie family.

Description

Hi I’m Edel,
I’m from Ireland and I’m currently on a gap year travelling around Australia since July.
I’m really enjoying travelling and experiencing the beauty of this part of the world and taking my time to take it all in.

I’m from a farming background back home in Ireland (beef farm) and have a lot of farming experience growing up helping out on the family farm.

I’m a hairdresser and barber by trade and have my own little studio back home and have it let out to another hairdresser looking after my clients while I’m away travelling.
I’m hairdressing almost 20 years and enjoy the creativity of my job as-well as seeing my loyal clientele regularly and catching up with them.

I like to help others and doing meaningful work especially now that I have the time, I want to give my time to help others out as much as possible and learn a few things along the way and have more exciting experiences with people.

I feel most energised when I’m getting to know new people and working together as a team and making nice connections with them.
I’m quiet respectful of others space but still like to share stories and communicate well.

I’m a huge animal lover, I’ve been to countless zoos in Australia since I’ve been travelling as I’m obsessed with the animals in this part of the world in particular koalas and kangaroos but I love all animals and would like to spend as much time around them if possible.
We always had pets around the farm growing up , we had pet dogs, cats, rabbits and hens.
I have fond memories at home hand rearing baby calves when their moms were no longer around.

I also helped my dad out during busy times in the summer back home drawing bales in with the tractor from the meadows during the silage season.

I really like to spend time outside it keeps me grounded and happy.
