Description
Website:

I am environmental scientist, videographer, adventurer, content creator, athlete, with a positive (work) attitude and energy.
🤩 What Motivates Me:
I love to explore places that are lesser-known, where the experience feels more authentic. For me, the magic lies in feeling at home while being miles away from my actual home. The idea of finding new places and getting to know different cultures people's way of doing things, learning, and living their traditions and daily life, is fascinating!
🌟 Hobbies & Passions:
- Traveling is not just a hobby for me, it's a full-blown passion that started the moment I stepped out of my family home (visited ca. 50+ countries so far - studied and worked abroad in six). Alongside travel, I'm deeply interested in environmental conservation, reflected in my professional background as an environmental scientist/consultant.
- I love the ocean, hiking trails, climbing mountains, or simply soaking in the great outdoors and I am always in for a good adventure
- Further, self-development, learning and engaging in cultural and spiritual activities is what I am passionate about
😁 Some Facts About Me:
- Lived in China as a teenager and in Mexico as a young adult (5 years)
- Went joke-for-joke with an Irishman at a pub open mic—lost the battle, but won a friend
- Padi-Diver with night dive certificate
- Traveled from Antarctica to Alaska in one year without taking flights
- i currently produce two documentaries, one about donkeys in Mexico
- PhD in Sustainable Engineering
- Proud uncle to two adorable goofballs who I miss dearly when traveling
- Obsessed with local food from my region called "Maultasche", keen to prepare for you and try yours!
- I offer guided mindful hikes over several days (including meditations, nature therapy, ceremonies, forest bathing...)
- Trilingual fluent (English, German, Spanish) + Estonian, French
- Avid reader (at least two books a month), so there is always a topic to chat about
- Author of the "first case study of the life cycle impacts of a human being"
- Adventurous road trip from the US East Coast to West Coast at 20, sleeping in a ford focus
- Visited 6 continents including Antarctica
So there you have it! A quick glimpse into who I am and what excites me. Skills, you'll find beneath.....If you think I'd be a good fit for your Workaway experience, I'd love to hear from you. Looking forward to sharing unforgettable moments with you!!! :) -

More details about your skills
- POSITIVE MINDSET/ ADAPTABILITY/ RELIABLE: I believe in, and maintain a positive mindset, actively contributing to a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere wherever I go. My most valuable skills are adapting easily to new environment, learn fast and being reliable and thrustworthy.
- HANDYMAN, MAINTENANCE/ GARDENING, AND DIY: I am a Do-it-yourself enthusiast at heart, I love the process of building and creating things, hands-on skills. Further, I learned handyman skills and gardening from volunteering on farms, growing up in the countryside and having two family houses with big gardens, and some small land, which needed taking care of as well as helping out on construction sites. For instance, building/fixing, cleaning, drilling, chopping wood, painting, gardening, cutting trees, shoveling snow, general maintenance of houses....
- BABYSITTING/CHILDCARE: As the uncle of two (2 and 4 years, who I will miss dearly) and a co-host of summer camps for young children and adults (up to 13 years) in my home-town, I've developed patience, and an ability to handle "chaotic situations" =)
I love to play with kids, run around, make fun, make them laugh, however also can be calming, while playing a board game or reading a book.
- ANIMAL CARE: I love working with animals and have supported animal rescues as a volunteer! I have also volunteered on two non-profit Husky kennels/Farms, where I took care of around 50 dogs (see feedback), including training the puppies, preparing food, cleaning and maintaining the dog areas and farm + many cuddles :)
- VIDEOGRAPH/EDITING: Depending on where I travel, and what's the purpose of the trip, I have several cameras with me. I also know how to edit photos and videos and work with professional tools like CapCut/Adobe Pro/Canva. I have collaborated with many projects and expeditions along my travel and happy to support you
- HOSPITALITY/CLEANING: I managed over 5 years two Airbnb properties and love being a good host for my guests. I know by heart how to make feel guests welcome and communicate politely. I am also a skilled decorator, and know how to clean and prepare rooms with detail. Furthermore, I also worked in hotels, at restaurants and as a bar tender during my studies.
- ECO-PROJECTS: I've learned analytical and problem-solving skills through work in environmental research and consulting (studied and worked abroad). I am passionate about any kind of Eco-outdoor-projects and would love to take part. I like to keep my footprint as low as possible.
- MEDITATION/SELF-DEVELOPMENT: I facilitate retreats and workshops during the year, over several days, including e.g., meditations, breath work, nature therapy, ceremonies, forest bathing
- SOCIAL MEDIA SKILLS: I work as a Social Media Strategist (Branding) and can also help you create and plan photo and video material, but also flyers/brochures/informational posts/posters for business, where I work with professional tools like Canva or social media planning tools (metricool)
- TOUR GUIDE: I offer "adventurous mindful hikes" (Serveal days) throughout the year, where we sleep outside in caves and learn how to reconnect our senses again with nature (see above). Skills learned here are, for instance, crowd management, acting as a TEAM, making content engaging, dealing with unforeseen situations (e.g., weather conditions) and a deep connection with nature.
- TRILINGUAL: I speak English, German, and Spanish fluent. French a bit.
-PHYSICAL FITNESS: I like to keep myself fit, while rock climbing, trail running, swimming, biking, calisthenics, and playing soccer. In Winter, I enjoy skiing or mountaineering.
- A SEASONED STORYTELLER: Great asset for every dinner or sit-in at a fire :D
