I spent about 10 days volunteering at the hotel and I had a great time. Yogi and the staff were really friendly and welcoming from the get-go. I had some great conversations with Yogi. We got along very well. He has a fantastic vision and an openness to receive ideas and feedback. Yogi invited me to walk around the property and feel inspired which I thought was an excellent way to manage his project. I mostly worked in the garden caring for the plants and creating a beautiful pleasant space for guests to enjoy. I got my own room which was spacious and bright where I was able to get well needed sleep after many weeks of traveling around India. The food was delicious and I loved eating at the rooftop dinning lounge. Thank you Yogi and team for an amazing experience!

We spent two weeks with Elly and Werner and enjoyed helping out with a range of tasks in the garden and around the campsite. The work included weeding, watering the plants/vegetables, clearing pathways, cleaning the greenhouse, and a bit of sanding and painting. Elly always gave clear instructions and trusted us to get on with the work each day. There was also another volunteer there during our time on the site, who we worked with and got on very well with. Elly was a lovely, caring host and was very flexible with our working days so that we could have a few days off in a row to explore the area, which was great. On the days we worked, we were always treated to a generous and delicious lunch with dessert, and on hot days it was great to cool off with a dip in the pool. It's worth noting that internet access is very limited on the campsite and phone signal can be non-existent depending on your phone network - we ended up going to Temuco or Cunco whenever we needed internet connection for travel planning, etc. But otherwise we were happy to disconnect properly for a while and enjoy the peace and quiet of the campsite and its beautiful surroundings. Thank you Elly and Werner for a wonderful first Workaway experience in South America, and for all the chats over breakfast and lunch! :)

Saija is our first volunteer from Finland. She came from -30degrees temp to almost 30degrees in Malaysia..! Saija has a great personality, always willing to help and go an extra mile. Each task given to her was carried out meticulously and she takes pride in her work. The farm brings back her childhood memories and inspire her to perhaps raise some chicken again..! If Saija ever request to volunteer at your place, don't hesitate to host her. You won't regret it..!

Robin stayed for about 10 days at our farm. He has a very pleasant personality.. always smiling and get along well with everyone at the farm. He is able to carry out the tasks assigned to him and able to acquire some new skills. He helped out with the daily farm chores and some specific tasks well. It was a pleasure having him at the farm and we would welcome him back anytime.

Helen is truly one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met. She does everything to make you feel comfortable and at home, always caring and available. The room is very clean, with a private space including a bathroom, toilet, and storage, which is really appreciated. She cooks extremely well, so every meal is a real pleasure! Peppa is an amazing dog who loves going for walks and running (we’re still looking for a dog who can run faster than her 😂). I really enjoy spending time with her, and I’m taking care of her for another 10 days while Helen is in Mexico. We went to Tulln and Vienna, where Helen showed me many things and took me to try Austrian specialties. She also took me to and picked me up from the train station several times so I could catch the train. I also met Benjamin her son and Fiona his girlfriend, who are both very kind. I would have loved to spend more time with Helen! By the way, you were doing magic to win at Skip-Bo!! Have an amazing time in Mexico!

Kacia is truly a gem. She has such a peaceful, cozy, and confident presence, and she quickly and fully integrated into our family. She is very smart, capable, and independent. She cooks easy and delicious meals, and she also did a lot of amazing baking for us. Other work at our home included organising, cleaning, and helping with the cats, which she all did excellently in a self-sufficient and reliable way. Kacia is warm and easy to communicate with, and we genuinely enjoyed spending time together during our many social evenings. Kacia is also really confident and natural with kids. Our little Ayla absolutely adored her — Kacia was even allowed to do her hair (which says everything 😄). We were treated to the cutest little braids and hairstyles, and it quickly became a little tradition in our house! We spent several holidays together, and it truly felt like having family with us. The cozy evenings with chats, games, and movies were such a delight, and we will always remember that time very fondly. If you ever get the chance to host Kacia, grab it with both hands, you definitely won’t regret it! We really miss having you around, but I’m sure our paths will cross again💛!

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Judith in Koszalin for nearly a full month in December 2025. From the moment she arrived, she brought an incredible burst of energy and positivity that truly elevated our space! One of the highlights of her stay was her passion for Lindy Hop dance. Judith took the initiative to promote it in our bar, organizing a fantastic beginner’s workshop that introduced this fun, swing-style dance to our local community for the first time. It was pure joy watching the dancefloor come alive with that infectious energy—people were smiling, laughing, and swinging away! She turned what could have been ordinary evenings into memorable events that drew in new faces and fostered a vibrant atmosphere. As a Workawayer, Judith was exemplary. She jumped right into helping with simple tasks in the bar and kitchen, like serving drinks, prepping meals, and keeping things tidy. But her real strength shone through in her interactions with guests and our team. She’s incredibly energetic, optimistic, and mature, always ready with a warm smile and engaging conversation that made everyone feel welcome. Judith is a natural multitasker, seamlessly juggling responsibilities while maintaining high spirits. She’s adaptable, reliable, and a fantastic team player who anticipates needs without being asked—qualities that made her an asset in our busy environment. On top of all that, Judith is a professional physiotherapist, and she generously used her expertise to help me recover from an arm injury. Her advice and hands-on assistance made a real difference, speeding up my healing process. What a bonus! We couldn’t recommend Judith more highly. If you’re looking for a Workawayer who not only gets the job done but also adds heart, creativity, and enthusiasm to your project, don’t hesitate to invite her. Thank you so much, Judith—we miss you already and hope our paths cross again soon! 🌟

Beautiful spot, Victor welcomed us in his place. We managed to worked only three days a week doing 8 h for to days and then 4 h for one day. Be careful doing the winter, san cristobal is very cold as the cabanas ! The contact with Victor has been nice but nothing extraordinary.

A very personal review, long overdue: Having traveled across Latin America for seven years, I ended up in Paraguay for two years, and it all started with this family. My compatriots had boldly left Germany in search of freedom, sunshine and a different way to raise their kids, hence we connected on many levels. They were living in the countryside, I walked/trained the dogs and helped with cooking/cleaning. Given my background in radio (speaker/producer), I started revising the audiobook on frequency medicine, Harry was working on and got to experience the method firsthand (extracted wisdom tooth, quick healing). After two months, we moved into town (Caacupé) and I became severely ill, to the point of life danger. Harry and Davina experienced turbulent times themselves, challenging weeks for all of us, including my radical shift from 15 years vegan to temporary carnivore, in order to save my life. Even though the family was mostly vegetarian at the time, they supported my unexpected transformation. In fact, if it were not for Harry, the penny might not have dropped in time, he urged me to let go of dogma and listen to my body (not discrediting any choices here, just my personal story, whatever works). A few weeks later, we celebrated an emotional Christmas Eve, with gifts, a duck for dinner and heartfelt hugs, embracing not only the other, but the twists and turns of life itself. We shared the house in town for another five months, before they moved on to a new home, while I continued to recover in a flat until returning to Europe in summer 2025. People cross our path for a reason. We laughed and argued, mirroring and facing our inner challenges, working through them together. I’m grateful for eight intense and rewarding months. Harry, Davina, Noah and Balian are a terrific tribe, and I applaud them for staying on course on their adventurous journey. Don´t hesitate to join these good people (and their numerous animals) for a while, living and learning together.

We spent 3 weeks in November with Günseli and Burak and their lovely animals - which was way too short! We all got along really well, I believe that's because we shared the same views, morals and ethics. They are open minded people that will make you feel welcome and included. We had delicious vegetarian dinners together, learned some turkish words and got to see some of their projects. One time they even took us to their work place - it was super interesting! They had so many stories to share and we loved listening to all of them. The animals - we fell in love with every single one - were good to handle and always up for some cuddles. We are missing them! The work was easy - we walked the dogs 3 times a day (there's a park and a beach super close), cooked the dogs dinner, fed the animals and cleaned the cat litter box. In our free time we explored Istanbul - it can be overwhelming but don't worry, Günseli and Burak are ready to help and recommend things you need to see, experience or eat ;) If you're there ask about the dill bread, it is delicious! We had an amazing time and can't wait to visit again! Thank you and give the kids some cuddles <3

I spent one month with this fantastic people. It was my first Workaway experience so I couldn't have picked better. I had everything I needed, the conditions were fantastic, my tasks were easy as well. I had a lot of free time to explore and enjoying. I'm really grateful and I wish you all the best!!

I had a lovely experience at Nadege and Olivier's place. I stayed for about a week and I worked for 4 hours a day, mainly cleaning the airbnb and distributing flyers for Nadege's massage festival. They were amazing at making sure I had enough breaks and didn't work too much. The family were very very kind and helped me with my French so much! They took me to 2 parties during my stay and the French immersion really improved my understanding of the french culture and language. I would recommend this place to independent people if you are solo travelling and ask to use the bikes if you don't have a car! Nadege and Olivier are extremely generous and Mila is very sweet. Thank you!

I had an amazing four days here! Anna and David are lovely welcoming hosts, kind and caring people. I loved their home, the goats and the chickens. Anna and I spent a day together where she taught me to cook Ugali and make makote roofs. The time was split between a place close by where Reiner, Chai and their friend Ali are building an eco chicken farm, and beginning to test lots of sustainable technologies such as an earth bag water tower and re-using waste as fuel. I helped with cleaning the chicken house, building a shelter for the toilet and some water tower design. Overall it feels progressive and and very exciting for a cooperative community farm with an aim to support the wider local community. Reiner, Chai and Ali were great company, relaxed and down to earth with lots of passion for the project. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!

We had noe and malte to stay for two weeks and we were blown away with how hard they worked! They are a lovely couple and an absolute pleasure to have! They just got on with tasks and also took initiative to do things, which was a huge relief for us. So friendly, really nice and we really hope they come back one day!

Vince volunteered at our finca in Tenerife for a month, and we cannot thank him enough for the progress we made under his guidance. He provided daily sessions that were perfectly tailored to our individual needs. From helping with chronic joint pain (knees, hips, and shoulders) and avoiding the need for surgery, to building a long-term longevity and strength program, Vince’s "hybrid" approach of physiotherapy and functional training is world-class. He doesn't just "train" you; he teaches you how to understand your own body. He is calm, motivating, and incredibly knowledgeable. If you are looking for a volunteer who is professional, reliable, and brings a high-level skill set to your project, Vince is your guy!

Jai Swaminarayan! I spent almost 2 months volunteering as a nurse with the medical team and teaching English at the school. My time here has been wonderfully varied and full of learning, community and spirituality. Every single person has been so generous and welcoming and I really feel like part of the family, Volunteering with the Hospital at Your Door service has given invalauble insight into the health challenges, perceptions and beliefs of the local people of Gujarat, broadening my perspective and understanding of healthcare and nursing practices. Whilst I sometimes found it challenging to find ways of making meaningful contributions to the medical team, I ended up focusing my efforts on sharing my experience and practices with the team, teaching core clinical skills and encouraging a culture of continuous learning and development. With the learning I took from the medical team I also tried to develop health and wellbeing lessons to teach the children at the school. I also spent time at the Bhakti Sevashram running exercise classes at the care home. The swaminarayan organisation is a living example of how faith and spirituality is expressed through action, through compassion, and through selfless service. The integration of spirituality, education, healthcare and social service creates such a powerful, unified community. This has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity. Thank you to all the staff, students, teachers, medical team, swamis and volunteer coordinators for all your care, support and encouragement.

From the very beginning, you came with such a beautiful spirit , always charming, happy, open minded, and ready to help wherever help was needed. Your positive energy was felt by everyone: our family, the children, the teachers, and the other volunteers. You didn’t just stay with us; you truly became part of our family. We especially want to thank you for your support of the school. Your effort and initiative to help raise money for the primary school meant so much to us and will have a lasting impact on the children’s education. That kind of care and responsibility shows the size of your heart, and we will never forget it. Mama D., the children, and everyone here miss you already ,including Niko 😊. We are very proud of the memories we shared, the laughter, the learning, and the cultural exchange that made this experience special for all of us..Karibu sana You will always have a home here in Arusha, and we truly believe this is not a goodbye but a “see you again.” Thank you for trusting us, for giving so much of yourself, and for becoming part of our story. Karibu tena — you are always welcome back.

My review is about the hosts, what you do during the experience, and who I think this experience is suitable for. The hosts are true gentlemen. They will make you feel comfortable (and they will definitely pamper you), and since they are very worldly people, you can talk to them about anything. They are both excellent French teachers, and the food is amazing. They also have two very friendly and lovely little dogs. You will be given some tasks to do; in my case, I had to collect walnuts and dig a trench to install the internet cable (I stayed only two weeks). You will mostly work on your own (when I did the experience, I was the only Workaway volunteer). The room has everything you need, the house is very beautiful and warm (it was November), and the village is indeed quite far from bigger towns. However, you will have a bike to explore the area (people with a car won’t have this problem). I recommend this experience to people who want to learn the language, who are independent, and who enjoy peace and quiet. A bientot :)
