    Description

    Hi everybody 👋
We are a little team in southern Germany (Black Forest) on the border with Switzerland. We are a Buddhist Meditation Center with biological farming. We host groups, organize retreats and events, grow veggies and tend to our animals. At the moment we have two goats, two rabbits, guinnea pigs, a dog& cat, goldfish, donkeys and sheep. We are in the process of building and growing our community.

The community consists at the moment of three people
Who live on site: Julika from Germany (36), Oliver from Italy (30) and Herbert from Germany (70). While other people support the project but live in the neighborhood.

We love company and connecting with people from all over the world.

We also love to go to the sauna at friends places or in the area. The Black Forest offers beautiful walks, sights and excursions to wonderful cities such as Freiburg, Zurich, Basel, or even Strasbourg. Because we live just 10 minutes away from switzerland 🇨🇭 and close to france 🇫🇷 , a trip to these areas is recommended.
We also host weekly meditations if you interested in that.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love company and connecting with people from all over the world. In our free time we like to play games together, music (guitar, piano, ukulele, singing), paint, read stories, tell jokes, meditate, yoga, cook together, watch a good movie and we love interesting conversations. Oliver and Julika speak a all together 10 languages , ranging from Tibetan and Japanese to Spanish and Arabic. We believe that you will surely feel welcome! Their wide range of cultural encounters offer a space for intercultural exchange through cooking, conversation, music, movies etc.

We also host weekly meditations if you are interested in that. You can freely participate in all the activities of the center.
Julika is a mindfulness and yoga teacher and loves to practice together.
(Be sure to bring your 🧘‍♀️ yoga mat!)

  • Help

    Help

As we are in the process of expanding further the project we are looking for support with the daily tasks. In more detail: these consist in tending to our animals, planting seedlings, hay making, caring for the garden and the veggies, cleaning the garden, cutting wood, cooking for the community, website and social media care for our personal profiles. We also have a guest area, but you will not be involved with anything around that. The guest area is a separate project from the work away tasks, and we have a few stable employees tending to that.

Your tasks vary depending on the period of the year. However, the general outline always stays the same.

We will always introduce you to the tasks at hand and if
you have any pre-existing skills in the aforementioned areas, you are very welcome to bring in your Knowledge. We often work as a team, and sometimes we divide the duties among us.
We love to learn and grow together, hearing From your experience, and sharing ours with you.

Cultivating human connections in tune with nature are a deep core value of ours.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Depending on the times of the year we have different accommodations available: rooms in the house, a yurt, and tent. When there is place in the house you can always chose between staying in the house or in the yurt 🛖 /tent.

For the meals: we will mostly share a small kitchen in the house. Breakfast will be a go with the flow moment (sometimes together and sometimes everyone on their own based on rhythm and need.)

Lunch and dinner will be mostly together. One of us will cook and maybe if you like to cook, we can take turns.

Internet is mostly stable and available almost everywhere around the house. Even in the yurt or the tent. However, in the yurt the connection might not always be 100%. Then perhaps you might want to choose to work in the garden.where we have tables and a good connection.

We have a big parking place close to the field land. There you could lodge. There is no internet available and the shared bathrooms are a few meters away in the house.

    Can possibly accept pets

Generally all pets are welcome who don’t have hunting instincts or some sort of aggressive nature. We can not guarantee though that if you have a dog you can let him lose without leach around the house because of our little animals.
