  Description

  We are a young laid back couple living in a small paradise that we have created just a stone's throw from Estepona on the Costa del sol. We have two dogs and chickens, no kids. We are looking for a down to earth, hard working couple to come and stay on our finca where we have a geodesic glamping dome for a short while and help us with gardening, maintenance and new DIY projects to make the place even better. You would stay in the guest suite which is attached to the main house that has a private bathroom and terrace area and also welcome to use our saltwater infinity pool, games room, outdoor cinema, firepit and bar area. You can also stay in the dome if you prefer.
  
  About us:
  
  We are very easygoing and sociable people, although during the week we are quite busy so we also appreciate our quiet time and privacy. We love doing stuff outdoors and there is always something happening on the finca with regards to DIY projects and gardening.
  
  What we are looking for:
  
  We are looking for a couple (male and female this is because some of the maintenance does require literal manpower and strength 🤣) to come and stay for 2 weeks. Working hours will be 4-5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. We have tried hosting single workawayers previously and it didn't work out with regards to social and work dynamics. Working alone can become boring very quickly and we are not always available to accompany you with tasks as we are often working on another project in a different part of the property.
  
  Clear, honest communication is important to us, as well as making sure we all do our part to keep the house tidy and clean by respecting eachother and tidying up after ourselves. (You would be surprised how many people hate emptying the dishwasher for example 🤣🤣🤣)
  
  Whilst we provide healthy nutritious food, we cannot always commit to cooking twice per day, so it's good if you can take initiative and prepare food for yourselves if we are not available to cook for you. We are meat eaters and we eat clean. We can (and have)accommodated vegetarians before, however we cannot accommodate vegans as we eat meat, dairy and vegetables at pretty much each meal.
  
  We live close to the beaches and town and there is plenty to do around here. We like hosting people who are keen to get out and explore in their free time (we can lend you our electric scooters if you don't want to walk)
  
  You must be able to speak English, as my husband is still learning Spanish, so he needs to be able to communicate with workawayers as he is in charge of coordinating work.
  
  Duties will for example include:
  Gardening and pruning fruit trees
  Feeding the chickens and cleaning out their pen
  Maintaining the weeds
  Painting
  General maintenance around the property
  Some Cleaning
  Jetwashing the terrace
  Watering plants
  Taking the dog for a walk
  
  What we are NOT looking for
  
  We have unfortunately had a couple of experiences in the past whereby we have felt like our workawayers haven't wanted to work at all, which meant we had to waste time checking up on them continuously and correcting jobs that had been half completed or with people saying they were doing jobs and then not actually doing them (we previously hosted a girl who instead of clearing weeds as we asked hid in the garden to sunbathe 😱🤣) This becomes very uncomfortable for us as we are not the type of people who want to be checking up on our workers or having to find them to ask why work hasn't been done or scolding them like a teacher! and we also don't want to be following people around clearing up after them or correcting mistakes that have been made simply because doing it properly is too much effort. We really just want an easygoing friendship with our workaway guests and we want to be able to trust that tasks will be completed properly and be able to rely on eachother for the time that you stay here.
  
  Duration of stay
  
  As the work here is mainly stuff like gardening and maintenance to get the glamping dome area ready for the summer season when we open to guests, it can be quite hard work for people who are used to city life. Personally, I love it and would rather be working in the beautiful garden in the fresh air, than inside. That said, experience has shown us that two weeks is normally enough as naturally people get tired and lose motivation. BUT if we get along well with eachother and we are all happy with how work is progressing and you still have motivation to continue, there is always stuff to do here, so we would be happy to have a conversation to extend your stay a bit longer, however this is something that needs to be reviewed towards the end of the first two weeks, as we never want to be in a situation where we have to ask people to leave (yes, this has also happened and it was extremely awkward!)
  
  
  Preference will be given to those with building knowledge/experience. And to those who have previous workaway experience.
  
  You must love animals, especially dogs. Zero stress, zero drama.

  We live walking distance from the beautiful town of estepona and it's stunning beaches. You would have the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas, including some stunning hiking routes in the surrounding area.

• 

  Help

  We basically just want help around the finca. It could be gardening, or walking the dog, helping to collect fire wood, general maintenance around the property. Feeding the chickens, cleaning their coop from time to time. Basically what you would expect to be doing if you owned a large property with several outdoor areas. Help inside the house (cooking, some cleaning) could also be required (for example if the guys are building something outside, the girls will clean the house if it needs to be done). You need to be committed and willing to help for a few hours a day without always being asked or told what to do (for example if you notice the pool terrace is dirty, grab the hose and wash it. If you see the pathway needs weeding or the plants need watering, just go ahead and do it etc)
  
  We can commit to hosting volunteers for an initial period of two weeks, after which point we can discuss an extension of stay should we agree that the arrangement is mutually beneficial.
