Alexandre is delicate and dedicated to his work. When he came to us, it was the winemaking season. We spent 2 wonderful autumn weeks together performing various agricultural, design and construction activities. He knows a lot of information, we spent many pleasant evenings talking about different countries and cultures. And last but not least, he helped me a lot to enrich my English communication skills. I hope to see you again Alexandre! Good luck!

This was such a lovely workaway! The thing that drew me to the profile was the photos of people eating together surrounding a kitchen table. That is what I was hoping to find as I messaged the host. While traveling, the best memories I have always surround food. Whether it be getting food poisoning with a friends, preparing and eating a giant meal together, or being soooo hungry and dazed and trying to find food but making it a good time because of the friends you just made. I would say 90% of my stay was in that kitchen. Prepping food, eating food, or hovering around as others did - that kitchen was our home. I made so many new friends and learned so many new recipes. Thank you for letting me stay!

We hosted Logan for several weeks and he was a kind, polite and sociable presence. During his stay, he worked on the restoration of a glass door providing access to our workshop, focusing on sanding and preparation for painting. The door included shaped elements and glass panels, requiring care and attention to detail. Overall, the experience was calm and convivial. We wish him all the best for his future travels and upcoming Workaway experiences.

This was my second experience with Workaway in Italy, and fortunately, it was very enjoyable and peaceful. I stayed for three months in winter and worked as a caretaker for my hosts' house and also as their car sitter. They provided me with a furnished house, bathroom, kitchen, and even offered me the use of their own home's facilities, because they knew I would be spending a lot of time alone, which, luckily, I spent in a good way, warm and surrounded by an incredible view. I got to know the people from the hostel, but unfortunately it closed two weeks after my arrival, however I had a great time there. My hosts explained to me many times how to use, manage and regulate everything and how to act in case of an emergency. We also did some work together with my host, repairing and maintaining his house; all simple and uncomplicated work. Then, when I was alone, I did a little gardening, repaired some furniture and did a little laundry. Again, simple work. They also kindly offered to cover part of my food expenses. As for taking care of their cats, it was quite simple: I just had to feed them at the same time twice a day and keep them company a little so they wouldn't feel lonely. While they were at home and if there was no work to do, I was able to go and visit around, so I did, and I went to Bellaggio, Varenna, to Breglia, Aquaseria, to Milano many times and even to Torino for some days. The hosts were always very attentive, and thanks to them, I was able to visit one of the most beautiful places in the world. My recommendation is that if you come in winter, bring a coat! 😂 And always come ready to have a good time. Thank you very much, Fabio and Silvia! I wish you all the best! ❤️

We had a great time with James. He worked hard and well - without a doubt one of the best log splitters this place has ever seen! We enjoyed his company very much, so did the kids - they especially appreciated his good sense of humor. We had some good laughs :) James stayed with is for a month and we were grateful for his help and his presence. He blended in well with family life on the mountain and he was unfussy and easy to have around. Adaptable, self-motivated, independent are other words that come to mind. We will never forget the good times we shared together and we hope to see him again!

Shelby was such an absolute treat to have here for her stay through November-January, and we miss her so much already with her onto the next experience! She was an incredibly upbeat and positive energy to have around, and so hard working. We had many fun projects to engage with, from fencing, to shed construction, to gardening, to some horseback riding, and she was so delightful around my son, Dawson. I've managed to convince her to join us on a fun local parade for the month of February, so we'll get in one more visit before she leaves the area to go back home.

so, I think these are some of the nicest people I've met, they were super flexible with working hours and they were always happy to exchange cultures and new information. the food was great all plant based and (I my self eat meat and didn't miss it at all) the room was nice and they were super happy to addapt to feedback and help put where needed. they took me on family adventures and helped me on my own. Maddy there kid was fantastic I don't have a lot of experience with kids but Holly heck she is cute and sweet. she loved to help and give presents and I was impressed with her and their parenting she was a cutie and possibly who I will miss the most from this farm. I also have a gluten allergy and they were wonderful at accommodating it. lots of good relaxing vibes. the jeeps are super inconsistent so it can be hard to leave the farm but people are usually super nice and the locals will take you to and from town with no question if your just walking in that direction.

Michelle spent a month with us just after I had given birth and my husband had to go away for work. She was a fantastic help around the house, playing with my eldest daughter and looking after my baby while I did some exercise. She was a pleasant person to have in the house, easy to get along with, courteous and respectful. Can fully recommend her and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Hello everyone, we have been here for over a month with Arda and Anyel, and it has been an amazing experience! We did various tasks, including yard work, pool maintenance, and preparing breakfast for customers. We had access to a variety of food, and Arda and Anyel occasionally cooked for us and took us out for traditional meals. They are very kind and open-minded, making communication easy and enjoyable. Additionally, when they were not around, the neighbor was always willing to help. We wish the brothers the best with their project and hope to see them again soon. Teşekkür ederim Arda and Anyel! Your Argentine friend, Alan 🫂🇦🇷🇹🇷

We absolutely loved our time in Brussels looking after Teo. Steph is absolutely lovely and warmly welcomed us into her flat before her trip and kept in contact throughout. Teo is the sweetest cat who loves his cuddles and play sessions - and was a dream to look after. Not to mention, the flat was perfect for exploring the city or having some needed downtime! Would happily sit for Steph again in the future 😄

It was super lovely and such a good balance after La Paz. It's like a paradise close to Cochabamba where you just immediately feel like home between a lot of four and two legged friends and amidst the ton of apple trees! Andrea has quite a lot of experience with volunteers so the structure was super nice and well prepared. At the same time she took care of us, made sure we weren't overworking and also that we could have our own flexibility. That was super appreciated. We had some daily tasks that more or less stayed the same and then we put some other activities around it, like cleaning out one of the rooms, adjusting a wall and building a natural wall with clay and other things - super cool learning experience! I also immediately connected to Andrea's housemate who I had plenty of good chats with. On top of that the other volunteers were super sweet and we all had a nice dynamic with sharing the kitchen, trying new food (sopa de Mani and masaco are amazing!) and we even went to the market together one day and swimming another. I really felt at home and enjoyed every bit of it. The tasks were at times quite physical, but that was also what is expected. It was never too much though! 10/10 would come again!!! Thanks sooo much, Andrea and Nicky!!!

Thanks a lot for letting me be part of your family! I stayed with Anna, Adam and their three kids, for 10 days and had a great time. They are both very open-hearted and honest people. I worked a lot with Adam in renovating an old beautiful flat in a cute tuscanian village. It was amazing to learn how to work with lime plaster and other natural materials. Also working with Adam was rarely boring, since he is a great guy to talk about life and whatever comes to your mind. He does his work for his own satisfaction, and I believe this makes a difference in how it feels. Other things to do were getting wood from the forest, cleaning windows, doing some math with suraya or doing some gardening. Also they supported me in speaking more italian as I supported Adam in speaking more german. Mi diary entry from my day of leaving, ends with: Sono molto felice e pieno di gratitudine. Thanks!

My sister and I had a wonderful time staying at Katina's for 3 weeks. Paddington is beautiful, full of rolling hills and a very short walk to many coffee shops, restaurants, and stores. The work is light and it's a simple morning routine. You can get started as early as you want, and you are free the rest of the day to explore. Katina is very kind and easy to talk to, she made us dinner several times and introduced us to her friends. We felt like part of the family. The kitties are adorable and we loved seeing the possums come every evening. We made a couple overnight trips to Noosa and Byron Bay and Katina was very flexible with us for that. We did have a car which made the Gold Coast beaches about an hour away accessible. We would definitely recommend a stay at Katina's. We will miss you!

Tino was a great Workawayer and a pleasure to have at the lodge. He is easy to get along with, listens well, and understands instructions clearly. He helped us a lot with daily lodge tasks such as cleaning common areas and rooms, doing dishes, splitting wood, shoveling and starting the bonfire. He was reliable, hardworking, and always willing to help where needed. We really enjoyed having him with us and would gladly recommend him to other hosts.
