It was such a pleasure to host Ilaria for about a week in January 2026. She was motivated, energetic, flexible, skilled and willing to work on a variety of household tasks including painting, watering, weeding and cleaning. We had some fun with sewing projects, chatted about travel and workout programs, swam at Clovelly and had a night time visit to AGNSW. I highly recommend Ilaria as a workaway.

Me and my friend stayed at Noya's place for 2 weeks just before Christmas and it was amazing! I will only speak for my experience as Sandra and I loved every second. First of all the nature over there is amazing and you feel like part of it. The views are amazing and the daily hikes gave us the opportunity to get to know the place in 'every' detail (obviously there is so much more to discover). Because of the variety of sun, clouds and sunsets it feels like a new place all over again. In the morning before work i enjoyed spending some time at the river to go for a bath or just cuddling with the dogs. In the evenings it was so chill to sit in front of the fire, reading or playing cards. Because of the fact that there was almost no phone reception, it was so great to fill the time you normaly use for your phone, with quality time. During the day we often split our tasks like planting trees, building benches, cleaning hiking trails or building steps this is why I loved that we always had Lunch and Dinner all together with all volunteers and Noya to have some quality time together. Noya is just amazing! She is such an open person, with a lot of knowledge about everything and who loves to share this with you. She really embodies permaculture in every part of her life. I really enjoyed every conversation with her because I learned a lot and she gave me some great advices and I felt really seen by her! It feels like there is so much more to say but just go there and have the experience for yourself, because you will learn so much about yourself and enjoy time in nature with yourself. If you're looking for a remote place to reset your nervous system, have inspiring talks and be one with the nature- this is the place for you! Thank you Noya for everything!

Warm greetings from Belopa. I would like to begin by sharing our experience before Jess came to the kindergarten in Belopa. At that time, we were participating in an English virtual class with the Universal Schooling Community. Even though the class was online, it felt as if we had known each other for a long time. Jess showed great discipline and enthusiasm during every discussion. She was always well-prepared, respectful, and eager to engage with both teachers and students. Her positive attitude made the virtual classes enjoyable and meaningful for everyone involved. Finally, Jess arrived in Belopa, and we were very happy to welcome her. From the very first day, she brought warmth, energy, and kindness to our kindergarten community. Her presence created excitement among the children and teachers alike. During her first week, it was very easy for her to become close to the kindergarten children. She connected naturally with them through patience, smiles, and genuine care. The children quickly felt comfortable and joyful around her. We truly appreciate Jess’s dedication, compassion, and willingness to smile and to share kindness with. Her contribution has made a positive impact on our kindergarten, and we are very grateful for her time, effort, and loving heart. All my love, Mazra, Anne, Sahabat Annisa Community, Teachers & Children.

I stayed with Izabella for almost three weeks and I truly enjoyed myself there. The property as well as the whole eco village is a beautiful place to get to know. There are kangaroos and wallabies hopping everywhere, beautiful birds to watch a magical creek to swim in. I also stayed in my own private space which felt great to relax in after the tasks of the day where done. My favourite part where unquestionably getting to know the goats and all their different characteristics. One of them had just given birth and to I got to see the first weeks of three little goat babies. Thank you for your kindness Izabella!

Macy and Drew are great to have around - easy to chat with, super helpful, respectful of privacy, punctual, clean and tidy. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and wish them all the best on their onward adventures in NZ and beyond! They mainly helped us with weed control and tidying up around our property, and they enjoyed exploring all around our part of the country while they were here, too. We definitely recommend them to you for any yard work and remember that Drew says he loves doing chores around the house too!

I am happy to have my first Workaway experience with Samia's family. She was a very kind and approachable lady who is happy to share a lot about the place and show me around the thi places. Her home was close to nature, with easy access to the beach to watch the sunrise and sunset. Her two children were also very energetic and cheerfully welcomed me. Happy to stay with them for 4 weeks and it will be unforgettable!

Leti was amazing!!! Leti and her friend Selena helped out for a few weeks and were so easy going, polite, enthusiastic, reliable and hard working! Leti helped out with yard work- gardening, laying new lawn, moving very heavy pavers; they also painted the kid's playroom (it looks awesome!) cleaned, scrubbed, cleaned the pool, cleared out our garage, put new garage shelves together. It was so easy having Leti around the house and her and Selena fit into our family well, engaging with our kids, and Alfie (the dog!). Great conversations and cultural exchange. I'd highly recommend Leti for future stays. Thanks again!

We spent an amazing 3 weeks in the Peloponnese, spending time with Kornelius and Eva while learning about organic/bio gardening and olive oil production. Kornelius and Eva were well-traveled and we loved hearing about their experiences and perspectives. They are kind, inquisitive, knowledgeable, and communicative hosts. Both were excellent cooks and made sure that we were well-fed with organic vegetarian food, brimming with ingredients from their garden. We are still thinking about Eva's handmade bread, Koni's curry, and their homegrown jams / pickles and delicious seasonal salads! They always gave clear instructions on tasks, working alongside us and sharing their knowledge. We arrived in October during the lush and rainy time of year and enjoyed the seasonal tasks that came with the Fall. We learned composting techniques, and how to care for different trees (olives and a huge variety of citrus), herbs, fruits, and native plants. We pruned and fertilized, weeding and cleaning up the property lines. The work was interesting and manageable, and we especially admired their commitment to daily cleanliness and organization. I took many notes and look forward to applying these skills to our own setup someday! Koni and Eva made our stay meaningful and memorable, taking us along with them to explore the surrounding towns and several beautiful hikes to local beaches. They showed us the olive oil milling and production process, and introduced us to other organic olive farmers in the region (plus a local friend who took us wild asparagus hunting)! Living in the Yurt we felt very connected to nature, surrounded by the sounds of birds, insects, rain, and at dusk the Jackals and foxes. Depending on the wind you could hear the ocean, distant thunderstorms, or the breeze coming up the hills and stretches of olive groves. We are grateful to know such an active and happy couple, and to have taken part in their daily practice with living a sustainable life alongside the rhythms of nature. We will cherish the memories from this experience, and are looking forward to the next time our paths cross again!

Helen! We are so happy to have met you and spent these amazing 2 weeks with you. We’re sad to see you leave and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your contribution not only to the students, but to the teachers as well. Your kindness and friendliness will truly be missed. We appreciate all the knowledge and teaching techniques you’ve shared with the teachers as they are very valuable to us. We hope you’ve enjoyed our school and little village, and we wish you nothing but the best for your future. Stay in touch with us and safe travels!
