Description
We enjoy and appreciate the support from the Workawayers on our 1 acre property. We’re happy for you to contact us as we have a variety of tasks around the property that we haven’t been able to get to on our own. Both longer or shorter term guests are welcome. Mature and self motivated adults aged 26+ are preferred. Food harvesting, food preparation, cooking and garden maintenance is always ongoing. Outside of that we have various other projects and aim to give you tasks that suit your skills and interests.
For a longer term stay, we would love to find the right person or couple who have some building / maintenance skills. Highly desirable would also be confidence in mowing, brush cutting , concreting and landscaping.
Contact us if you’re interested and we can chat more about what we are looking for.
We are an ex-couple with 4 miniature goats, growing organic food on 1 acre within the Eco Village. We’re in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, north-west of Brisbane and west of the Sunshine Coast. This is a United Nations World Habitat Award winner, with beautiful places here to walk and explore as well as creeks to swim in. The community at large offers a variety of events and experience you can enjoy including regular yoga, movie nights, Friday night dinner, monthly markets and more. We both work from home and enjoy all things natural as well as adding uniquely and creatively to the space through a variety of evolving projects.
Our property is situated within the Eco Village, surrounded by mountains and hills. It is about 25 minutes to the nearest larger regional town of Maleny. You can access most things at the eco village by foot or borrow our bikes to go further afield.
We love the quiet, clean, healthy and natural vibe here and would love to share it with travellers keen to experience and appreciate the same. it’s important to us that you don’t smoke, drink or use drugs. We enjoy sharing the abundant organic food we grow and extensively purchase, in particular, with guests whom are foodies and value organic, wholesome, healthy food. Shared meals are a great time to chat and share experiences outside of focused work time ( 5 hours per day/ 5 days per week)Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Our workawayers have helped us with so many things around the property. We love having people stay who are self motivated and can use their initiative and creativity to problem solve whilst communicating well. You are fondly thought of by us when we reminisce about the projects you’ve been instrumental in shaping.
At the moment cooking, gardening and construction are our biggest needs. Gardeners, horticulturalists, permaculture enthusiasts, chefs, carpenters, builders, landscape architects, concretors and handyman or other trade skills are always welcome. We love people who have brilliant ideas to add and can help us with the upcoming building of our new outdoor entertainment area, brick laying, making a pond and waterfall or renovating the kitchen to create something beautiful and functional.Languages spoken

Though I was hoping for something closer to Brisbane, this was definitely worth the hours it took to get there.
The first day there was REALLY hot (about 38 C). I don't think I've drunk so much water in one day before in my (long) life. In spite of that I didn't need to nocturnally empty my bladder. So there was some… read more
