What great experience I just had with José and Nick in their beautiful home ! I spent only 5 days with them but they really made sure that I could feel the most confortable possible. They are very kind and interesting people that are always caring and easy to talk to. The appartement where they let me sleep was very spatious and with everything in it, I was living like a King ! The activities were diversed (gardening, cleaning and helping in general), and José and Nick were always wanting to know if everything was good for me. I also had a really good time with their 10 years old son Charlie who is such a lovable kid. We played a lot together and he really is a very smart kid. It was such good time, I would have loved to make it last longer ! Thanks again for everything, José and Nick.

Staying at Gina’s was very nice, her and her boyfriend are very easygoing and funny so I had a lovely time with them. I had a lot of free time during the week I was there and the job itself was pleasent. And also her pets are sooo sweet! 🫶🏼

I had the pleasure of hosting Chai in mid‑2025. He is a very responsible, mature, and kind person. In addition to working hard outdoors—such as cutting grass and helping to fix the road—he also prepared delicious meals every day. I truly enjoyed hosting and working alongside Chai, and I would highly recommend him to other hosts.

My girlfriend and I stayed with Sara and Harry for three weeks. It was a wonderful three weeks in the Spanish countryside in a typical house with animals. You can choose to sleep in the guest room in the house or in a caravan in the garden. We had the opportunity to borrow bikes or a car, which was a huge plus. Our job was basically taking care of the animals: dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. Plus, we did some work on the house, such as laying a concrete foundation. I can only recommend Sara and Henry for their warm welcome into the family and for always being so nice to us. Thanks again. David and Petra

Having Bibi at home was a real pleasure. She's a good girl, cheerful and smiling, with lots of ideas in her head. She loves animals, which is very important to me, since my dog and cat are always in need of cuddles. The work we did together went well, and I'm very happy with the results. I also felt very comfortable with her. Living at home together can be difficult at times, but we both knew how to respect each other's schedules, and very naturally and willingly, we spent a lot of time together, talking, smiling, joking, and even eating. I highly recommend hosting Bibi; I'm sure you won't regret it. I'm pretty sure a new friendship has been born, and this is an added value to this experience we shared. So what can I say? Thanks again, Bibi, and I hope...see you soon!

We are grateful for our hosts who were very welcoming and relaxed. Their home was lovely, in a secure complex, with a beautiful view. They were clear communicators & set expectations up front, we really valued this. They love the outdoors & nature, and sharing their knowledge about the area. Thank you for the enjoyable & memorable stay.

I had a great time with Carol and Dani. They made sure we worked in good condition, giving us task in the shadows when sun was up. They provided us with various food and often asked what we needed. They were really nice, we had a separate house for the volunteers but they often come to chat and share information about the nature or the country. They also took us to a few spots in the area.

I really enjoyed staying here. The listing was accurate, communication was smooth, and everything went well. I spent three weeks there, so I had time to do a range of activities and learn a few things. Diogo and Martino were always helpful, and I enjoyed our chats over meals (the food was really good, by the way). If you like nature and you’re happy to work outside, I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Unforgettable experience. Saad and Andrew are exceptional hosts — welcoming, attentive, available, and incredibly respectful. You feel at home with them from the very first moments. The house is charming, full of life, very pleasant, and perfectly located. Getting to central London is quick and easy, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. The Workaway offer is thoughtfully designed. I came with the hope of improving my English, and the result has far exceeded my expectations. Thank you for allowing me to start 2026 this way!

Our stay with Cleo unfortunately only lasted 5 weeks. When we arrived, we were immediately besieged by cats before Cleo could even greet us. The work was not physically demanding, we fed the cats and kept their rooms clean, sometimes we also tidied up the yard. We quickly got into the rhythm and the workload was pleasant. Work in the mornings and time off in the afternoons, two days off a week, not necessarily Saturday and Sunday. Cleo usually cooked us something for lunch, which always tasted very good. And when we wanted to make crêpes, she even conjured up a crêpe pan from the depths of the kitchen cupboards. Twice she took us to the weekly market in Coín and invited us to the most delicious vegan sandwiches in the world. We also tried sugar cane juice for the first time, which was delicious. Unfortunately we didn't have running water in between, luckily the Rio del Padrón is right next door so we went bathing in the river once, definitely a fun memory. Cleo is very solution-oriented, so she quickly had a plan B for the water. We are very impressed with how Cleo takes care of her 70 cats and does everything she can to find them a nice forever home. We would have loved to take at least ten of her cats with us, especially Max the troublemaker. We had a super great time that we will never forget and were able to collect so many great memories. Thank you to Jasmin and Paula, the other Workawayers, the sweet cats and of course Cleo 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Thank you for the warm welcome from the very first day. Jyoti and Nandini were always present, guiding and supporting us in helping the children. It was my first experience working with kids, and it was a small challenge at the beginning, but a beautiful one. The children are truly eager to learn, and it was amazing to see their progress even in just one or two weeks. I leave more confident and would do it again without hesitation. The food was always generous and made me feel at home. Grateful for these days and the memories I take with me.

It was an amazing experience with Rudi ! The experience you're looking for when you're looking for real cultural exchange. Rudi enabled me to meet the real rural culture through his friends and living for a moment the Chilian rural vibe. We did some activities like playing games, canoe, go into a local rodeo ... The land is also amazing with lovely dogs !! It's the definition of slow life and it allows me to get more energy for my future travel. Work allows you to clear your mind and/or share your story and that of Rudi. I can just recommand Rudi if you're looking for this type of experience. If you stay with Rudi ask I'm to invite Elie. She's cooking amazing locals meals, listening to your food restrictions. She's the woman to marry (only if you're more than 48 and taller it's her conditions 😂😂).

Hanna took great care of my dog and cats which really saved me. She also used my place clean with care. She will be always welcome to my place. Thank you for all your help and good luck with your rest of your trip.

I stayed with Hans Olaf during the month of November 2025. It was my first trip as a Workaway and my truly first experience in a rural environment. Having absolutely no prior knowledge in farm life it was quite a challenge, but an expected one since it's exactly why I went there. In my case it was a self discovery trip, the first days were the hardest, when almost everything was new for me. Hans Olaf is a great teacher and an amazing person, kind and authentic. His "rhythm of life" can be really fast compared to others, specially me, since I'm quite slow. Communication is key with him, you don't have to work as much as he does, but you need to be really clear with him. If you don't stand up for yourself you're going to have a hard time, but if you talk with him he will understand you. Overall it was an amazing experience, specially with the other 2 workawayers, Hans Olaf really managed to select like minded people, which made teamwork easier and at the end we were almost like brothers. I might even go back there in the future. Thank you for everything!

From the first day Vincent arrived, he connected right away with the other volunteers, understood the tasks assigned to him immediately, and did an amazing job in his role. He is very crafty and can handle manual labor with a positive attitude. He also contributed with cooking, cleaning the house, and helping with the horses and Max, a true all rounder. But beyond that, he is an incredible human being. Always ready to help, offer a hand, go the extra mile, have interesting conversations, and share his knowledge and culture. Funny and clever, he made not just me but the whole house and fellow volunteers have a great time. I wish you only the best in your life and your travels, Vicente!

We volunteered with this project in December 2025, it was arranged late when other plans fell through and Kelly was very kind to allow us to join even though we were late notice, only staying for a short time and the schools term was out - we were and are very grateful for this. The time we spent at the school was great, as the term was out Kelly arranged for the volunteers to visit a local school of which we all went back multiple times to teach English to the pupils, the whole experience was very heartwarming and gratifying. On top of this Kelly as a host was incredibly warm and hospitable and was always trying to organise activities to occupy the volunteers (even convincing a local woman to let us into her closed cafe to watch sunset in the hills haha). The accommodation is very comfortable, with the option to buy goods from the supermarket next door to cook yourself although we never did this once as the local night market across the road had amazing and affordable options. We only wish we could have spent longer!

I stayed for 6 weeks over the winter - a very difficult time for the refuge due to near constant rain and storms. Despite the weather I had a really great time here, and it made the rare sunny days even sweeter. Firstly, the location is absolutely stunning. Nestled in the mountains, you'll never get bored of the views - and the many hikes that are doable from the doorstep. The dogs are just wonderful (special mention for Layla!). The work involves feeding and walking them, cleaning the kennels, and bits of repairs/maintenance here and there. All of this you are doing in the company of the dogs and there's plenty of time to sit and interact with them too. If you love dogs it's a no-brainer, you'll love it here. Just prepare yourself for the occasional fight between dogs. Life at the house is very simple and relaxed. There's a small shop next door, and stone kilns line the street where you can buy fresh bread. If you are lucky you might be able to see monkeys. If you are coffee dependant there's a moka pot in the kitchen, just make sure to stock up on coffee before arriving. Bring clothes you don't mind getting muddy and ripped. And a good blanket if you are visiting in the winter! Thanks to the great team of workers - the work you're doing is so valuable. If I ever return to Morocco I'll definitely be coming back here! :)
