This was my first Workaway experience and also my first time traveling truly alone so far from home, but I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Hani was incredibly kind and helpful from the very beginning and made me feel welcome and at home right away. Everyone was very warm and friendly, and working with the students was such a beautiful experience. They are amazing children, full of energy and curiosity. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about a new culture, connect with the local community, and grow personally. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. I have never felt so happy, and l will carry these memories with me for a very long time.

Clement stayed for a couple of weeks and was an amazing help around my property. If you are after someone who is reliable and capable then he is who you are after. My property looks so much better after all the work he has done and he was up for anything that was asked. He also was happy to prepare dinners which were very good. He is a very good cook! He also left the cottage that he was staying in absolutely spotless which was very much appreciated. (My dog will also very much miss his company!) I can absolutely recommend Clement as a workaway.

We had a wonderful experience hosting Osian from Wales. From the moment he arrived, he brought a very warm, open, and friendly presence into our space. He is easy to talk to and very approachable, which made communication smooth from the start. Whether discussing daily tasks or simply sharing conversations, he communicates clearly and thoughtfully, making collaboration feel natural and relaxed. Osian approached every task with enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to learn. He was always open to trying whatever needed to be done and showed real curiosity about the work. Rather than simply completing tasks mechanically, he took an interest in understanding what he was doing and how things worked. This made working together very enjoyable, as he engaged with the process and was happy to take initiative when needed. His work ethic is excellent. He is meticulous about the work he is given and makes sure it is done thoroughly rather than rushing through it. When he begins something, he follows through and ensures it is finished to a high standard. It was clear that he values doing things well, and we could rely on him to complete work carefully and consistently. One of the things that stood out most was his natural connection with animals. Osian clearly loves animals, and they seemed to respond comfortably to him as well. He cared for them attentively and confidently, often without needing much direction. It felt very natural for him, and we always felt at ease knowing the animals were in good hands. On a personal level, Osian is emotionally balanced, thoughtful, and considerate of others. He brings a calm and grounded energy that makes him easy to live and work with. He listens well, communicates openly, and approaches situations with maturity and respect, which makes shared living very smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Osian was a pleasure to host. His strong work ethic, curiosity, kindness, and good communication make him a great Workawayer. He contributes not only through the work he does but also through the positive and supportive presence he brings to the environment. We are grateful for the time he spent with us and would happily recommend him to other hosts.

It was a pleasure to host Shizuki. She is a very kind, polite and respectful person. She helped in the workshop and around the house with a good attitude and was always calm and easy to live with. Shizuki integrated well into the daily rhythm of the house and brought a nice, positive energy. We were happy to share our place with her and wish her all the best in her future travels.

I spent two weeks at Ljiliana and Ivans home in Croatia, and can confirm the universally poisitive reviews below. The homestead was very peaceful in a densely wooded part or Croatia, I had my own space, and was able to enjoy delicious meals and fascinating conversations with both Lilly and Ivan. If you're passing by Croatia, I'd highly recommend stopping Lily and Ivan's. I hope to come back soon!

Having Lino stay with us was wonderful! He is very helpful, kind, funny, and easy going. Working on the project with him was really fun because he came up with creative ideas that made it exciting. It was also fun learning a little German from him. Lino made the whole time enjoyable and memorable!

I stayed here for two weeks. Originally I planned to stay for only one week, but I felt so comfortable that I decided to extend my stay. I was warmly welcomed and it became a truly wonderful experience🌿 Leyilah’s home is filled with many lovely and charming things, creating a cozy and beautiful space. I think it’s a perfect place for people who enjoy cute items and a warm atmosphere. On my first day I arrived late at night, but Leyilah kindly prepared a meal for me. The food she cooks is always healthy and delicious. I especially loved her healthy chocolate brownies, milk porridge pancakes, and sausage horns🥰❤️❤️ The tasks were not difficult. Most of the work involved organizing clothes, shelves, and dishes, as well as cleaning and tidying up. Leyilah sent the tasks for the day, so I could work about 4–5 hours at any time that suited me. Taking initiative in the tasks is appreciated. It made me happy to see Leyilah and Momo pleased with the spaces I cleaned and organized✨ During my free time I enjoyed going for walks and relaxing. There are many supermarkets nearby. The station is about a 15-minute walk away, and from there it takes about 20 minutes by train to Aarhus. Aarhus has museums and beautiful streets that feel very Danish, and I really enjoyed walking around the city 🚶‍♀️ Weekends were free, and sometimes Leyilah invited me to events or flea markets in Aarhus and we went together. Of course it was always up to me whether I wanted to join, and Leyilah always respected my choice. It was a wonderful experience to visit places and events that I probably wouldn’t have gone to by myself🎪 I had my own private room during my stay, which made it very comfortable and relaxing🏡 I would also like to mention Michael, who lives downstairs, and Leyilah’s lovely daughter Momo. They are both very kind people. Michael was always friendly and taught me many things about Denmark. I was also happy that we could eat sushi together🍣 Momo is kind, humorous, stylish, and a very lovely girl. She talked with me a lot from the first day, which made me very happy. I truly enjoyed the time we spent together💛 And of course I must not forget Miusi, the beautiful and adventurous cat. She meows as if she is having a conversation with you, which made her very adorable 🐈 Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful experience during these two weeks. I am truly grateful to Leyilah and her family. I hope you will all continue to be happy, and I would love to see you again someday🌸 Arisa

I have really enjoyed staying with Brett, Sophie and the three kids. They are a lively bunch, joyfull, kind and easy-going! I felt very welcome and got invited to join along with lots of things: surfing, to the farm, bbq's (they have a lovely community of family and friends). Whilst also always having the freedom to go and explore on my own. Torquay is a nice small town and the beaches around are beautiful. I'm very grateful to have been welcomed into their home and have returned two times already! Brett and Sophie have been so helpful and kind, thank you lots and hope to bump into you again!

A place to feel at home! Linde and Said gave me a very warm welcome. In addition to their wonderful approach to the project, they are always open to questions, suggestions, and ideas. They both have a calm and humorous manner that immediately made me feel at home. A great place where European and traditional Moroccan culture come together to create an important project with a lot of heart.

Mary and Tom stayed here for about a week and it was really great having them around. They are kind, friendly and very easygoing people. They travel with their lovely dog Peanut, who is super sweet, and their van is beautiful. They also gave me a big hand cutting thorn bushes and helping clean parts of the forest, which I really appreciated. It was a pleasure to host them and I hope to see them again someday

We absolutely loved having Marlene to stay. She was so easy to talk to, so proactive and skilled in the help that she provided and she fit right in like she was a visiting family member. We underestimated her abilities, so definitely chat with her about all your ideas and dreams. She is very hands-on and keen to help. We would welcome her back anytime and hope to go visit her one day.

Bennedeththa is a wonderful person. She is beautiful, kind, and full of positive energy. I still remember when we went to the Moon Festival in the nearby village—many people were admiring her beauty and whispering, “The girl with the green T-shirt is so beautiful.” She is also very courageous and hardworking. Together with her friend Kim, she helped break the stones of an old building structure and created extra level space for me to build a bathroom. I really appreciate her help and her amazing spirit. She will always be welcome here.

I spent a week with Francis and his family, and am sure this was one of the best experience of my trip. Francis was so dedicated to the project and I could see that his motivation was purely from his love to the orphans. In the same time, this person has a joyful, loving personality and he often kept a company for hanging out in the night. His family was also really caring, as Aidah always tried to ask me what I wanted and brought me the food I demanded, and Darius and Hannah were so cheerful that I never felt bored during my stay. I mostly spent my day helping out with the class in the morning and playing with the kids in the afternoon. We also went to the ground in the weekends to do some sports activities, and it was always fun to see the kids enjoying the moment. I would highly recommend staying with Francis and am sure he is always ready to welcome anyone whose willing to help with his project. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience🫶

This was my first Workaway and I had a great time with Delldint. She is very welcoming and takes time to explain the work needed and her knowledge about permaculture. She did not lie in her profile she does indeed cook great meals 😉. She is a very interesting person with lots of experiences to share and with a beautiful spiritual side. Her connection to earth is very strong and powerful. Thank you for all the great memories shared together, I will definitely be coming back.

This was my first ever Workaway experience, and wow — what a great way to start. I would describe my stay with Daniella and Ray as peaceful, beautiful, and inspiring. I quickly felt at home in their beautiful house. I had the cosiest room and woke up to the sound of birds every morning. I felt really at peace, largely because the ethos of the stay was all about listening to your body, communicating openly, and respecting each other and nature. Daniella and Ray are very intelligent people, and I learnt a lot from them. They are also amazing parents to their daughter, who was an absolute joy to be around. I felt so connected to my inner child while playing with Konnie — it was such a privilege to meet her. She’s such an awesome human. I’d recommend this Workaway to anyone who wants to reconnect with nature, themselves, and enjoy some delicious, nourishing food. Thanks so much for my stay, guys — it was exactly what I needed!!

Staying with Vicky was a lot of fun. She is a very nice accommodating and helpful hostess. She also knows the best places to visit in Nairobi and the surrounding area and is a great guide. I can really only recommend the stay.

This was one of my favorite Workaway experiences. The place itself is beautiful — surrounded by rainforest, gardens, and a small river running through the property. It’s a great spot for people who love nature and can genuinely enjoy the quiet and simplicity of being in it. The work is very flexible. There isn’t a rigid list of tasks; you contribute with whatever skills you have. I mainly helped with content creation (photo and video), which is something I love doing, so it felt very natural and rewarding. But honestly, the highlight here is the host. Nik is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I’ve met. He really takes the time to get to know every volunteer and is always there if someone needs help or support. The resort has a sign that says “We’re a big happy family,” and at first I thought it was a bit cheesy — but after staying here, it actually felt true. Volunteers come and go, but the atmosphere stays very welcoming and supportive. If you’re flexible, open-minded, and happy living close to nature, you’ll likely have a great experience here.
