Maia was a wonderful part of our home, and we feel very lucky to have hosted her. She is extremely kind-hearted, respectful, and well-mannered. She lived according to our culture and always respected our traditional values, which meant a lot to us. She helped us whenever we needed support, never disturbed our family routine, and spent her free time quietly reading. She listened carefully to our advice and followed everything with a positive attitude. As a native English speaker, Maia was especially helpful in improving our English. She has completed TEFL, so she is well qualified and confident in teaching, and she shared her knowledge patiently and clearly. If anyone is looking for a good-mannered native English speaker as a helper or a friend, Maia is truly the best choice. We are very happy to recommend her without hesitation. If she comes to us again, we would love to spend time with her. We wish Maia all the very best for her future.

David and Jo are so friendly and full of energy our teachers and students from La Dorada, Mariquita and Manzanares really loved spending time with them. We can say that we are gonna miss David and Joe and we wish any day they can come back to visit us. We highly recommend this couple and we really apreciate all what they did for our school team.❤️❤️❤️

We had a great experience with Luis and Edwige, we can’t thank them enough for all their hard work, advice and good company! We got a lot of jobs done on our property, there was quite a wide variety of things we wanted to get done and both Luis and Edwige were keen to take anything on. We certainly learnt quite a bit from them as newbie country property owners. They were also happy to work on their own when myself and Jamie needed to work. In fact, they worked so hard that I had to chase them up for coffee and lunch breaks and they even insisted helping when it was meant to be their day off! We really enjoyed having lunch together and spending some free time with them too, especially exploring the area with their gorgeous dog Lockis who was also so good with our own pets. We had some good laughs and we would welcome them back for a holiday without hesitation. A very chilled, funny and inspiring couple, thank you 😁

I'm honestly very happy that volounteered with this family. I was quite nervous at the beggining, since it was gonna be my first experience doing a workaway, but I decided to go for it, and it's one of the best desitions I've done during my travel! Joel and Ellen were super understanding with me and helped me into many different things here for me to feel comfortable. I honeslty had a lot of fun with them! Also the kids are amazing, I laughted a lot with them and even learn new things from them also! (I quite miss them now hahah). They took me to a lot of different places for me to see them, and treated me as really part of the family! I really recomend them! 🩵

I have just spent 2 weeks with Therese and the ever affectionate Ziggy & Zora(cats). The grounds are beautiful and you can tell have been a labour of love, a lovely spot Therese has created. I did alot of outside work which I enjoyed, clearing up after winter getting ready for spring, and Therese also offered inside and other tasks if I wanted a change. Therese is a considerate host, checking in for comfort and needs, and inclusive when she was heading out, giving plenty of options to be sociable and engage with other friends and activities, or just have some down time by the fire. Therese has a fun energy to be around and is appreciative of the work carried out. I would recommend Therese as a host if you are heading over to Sligo.

Alessandro was not just a volunteer, but someone who truly became part of the place. He can cook, clean, and he works incredibly hard. Cutting hardwood is not easy, but he did it with strong effort and a positive attitude. He’s reliable, kind, and always willing to help with anything that needs to be done. I feel very lucky to have worked with him, and I’m really grateful for his time and energy here. He will always be welcome back anytime.

Phoebe was a wonderful volunteer! She’s kind, respectful, and easy to communicate with. She kept the place clean and brought really positive energy. I especially loved the painting she did on my wall . It's such a beautiful touch! I truly enjoyed hosting her, and she’s welcome back anytime. Safe travels, Phoebe!

Melody stayed with us for three weeks, and it was a truly positive experience in every respect. She integrated into the household routine naturally from the very beginning, showing responsibility, respect, and great willingness to help. She is reliable, punctual, and well organized. She carried out every task with care and attention, without the need for constant supervision, demonstrating autonomy and initiative. She was always precise in daily activities and attentive in managing shared spaces. On a personal level, she is cheerful, polite, and very pleasant to live with. She helped create a calm and collaborative atmosphere, easily adapting to the rhythm of the house and bringing positive energy. We shared many enjoyable and fun moments together: evenings playing video games, preparing traditional dishes, and going out to the pub. Melody makes delicious desserts and shared her cookie recipe with us, they are absolutely amazing! She is a positive, reliable, and respectful presence, capable of contributing meaningfully with enthusiasm and maturity. We highly recommend her!

Antoine stayed at Lavanta Gölevi for three weeks. I didn’t even realize how quickly the time passed. We worked together beautifully and found a natural harmony. Antoine, if you were happy to be here as well, I would be glad to welcome you again. Discover new places with friendship.

We are super grateful that Serena decided to stay with us and help us. Her help was amazing. She is an excellent cook (we ate delicious vegetarian food from all over the world) house was beautifully cleaned and kids loved her. :) during her time with us I got some much needed time for myself and to be with the kids. She is very independent, self-initiative, mature. We had some really nice and interesting conversations. So happy for this experience. Thank you Serena! Our doors are open for you. :)

I spend about a week helping Daniel with house reparing. Daniel is amazing and I am so glad to got to know him closely. Each day felt like a new adventure. He is very artistic person, has a soul of true musician and has cool mindblowing life-stories to share!

We spent the first two weeks of February in this beautiful and peaceful place with a unique historical atmosphere. Our work mainly consisted of painting and indoor cleaning, as the weather was not yet suitable for gardening – although there is certainly plenty of work to be done outside as well. We worked on average 5 hours per day, 4 days a week. Deej is a great and very accommodating host. She took us for walk with her two dogs, drove us to town when we needed personal supplies, bought the groceries we requested (vegetarian only), and was always willing to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We always shared dinners together and took turns cooking, which created a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the evenings. On our last evening, she even took us out for dinner to a restaurant nearby, which we truly did not expect and really appreciated! :-) We are genuinely happy that we could contribute, even for a short time, to the restoration and improvement of this historic house. We wish Deej and the whole community lots of success, dedicated volunteers, and smooth progress with the project. We would recommend this volunteering experience to anyone interested in art or in contributing to something meaningful. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your project. Petr & Lene P.S. Quelle belle expérience à faire du volontariat chez Andrea! Sa maison est chaleureuse et je m'y suis sentie bien dès mon arrivée. J'ai adoré passer du temps avec les chiens qui sont tellement adorables!! Les marches en montagne étaient tellement plaisantes, surtout quand elles étaient partagées avec Andrea ou avec les autres personnes faisant également du volontariat :) ! La cuisine était très pratique et il y avait de beaux espaces pour relaxer. Je prenais souvent l'autobus pour aller en ville, et c'était simple. Je faisais des marches avec les chiens le matin et également des tâches ménagères. Je ne ressentais aucune pression de Andrea, qui était tellement gentille et avec qui j'avais beaucoup de plaisir à parler! J'ai tout aimé de mon séjour...mais je dois dire que je me suis beaucoup ennuyée des chiens lorsque je suis partie!! Je recommande ce volontariat à tous, quel plaisir d'avoir trouver ce petit cocon niché dans les belles montagnes de Oaxaca!! :) Merci encore Andrea ! Xxxx

Chichiro has been such a lovely surprise! She’s sociable, curious, fun, and at the same time incredibly reliable. She took care of our daughters with so much care and affection, playing with them and having fun together, completely breaking down the language barrier. She was a huge help to us, even in the evenings while we were getting the girls ready for bed. We cooked, laughed, and joked together, and chatted about our different worlds—sometimes so close, sometimes wonderfully different. Our daughters were amazed watching her eat pasta with rice and peas using chopsticks! She’s not afraid to try new things (she even made a delicious crostata all by herself!). It was truly a pleasure having her with us, spending time together and wandering around Bologna looking up at the beautiful sights. We can’t wait to see her again—maybe next time in Japan! Thank you, Chichiro, for everything. We’ve found a new friend. Our home is always open to you! 😊

Michael and Monica are great hosts. We felt very welcomed in their home. They let us be a part of their family and join them in their free time activities. We came with our baby girl and a dog and we couldn't choose a better place to stay. We can recommend them if you are a family with children looking for a workaway. We shared daily tasks together such as taking care of children, cooking, cleaning, making fire and general maintenance outside. They also have a lot of different outside projects if you are handy. Monica and Michael, thank you for this experience. Bless your hearts and see you once again ❣️

Rosa was an absolute pleasure to have with us. She is incredibly neat, organized, and thoughtful in everything she does. You can truly feel her kindness and positive energy around the house — she blends in naturally and makes things feel easy. And the food… wow. Her Italian cooking is on another level. Every meal was made with care, and her tiramisu was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had — rich, perfectly balanced, and completely unforgettable. We would happily host Rosa again anytime and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, warm-hearted, and exceptionally talented in the kitchen.

This was David and Petra’s first volunteering experience together, and they left a great impression. They were hardworking self-starters who planned and researched each task to a high standard. They paved under the hórreo, upgraded bathroom mirrors to LED lighting, and carefully weeded and mulched the huerta and trees. Petra also helped with the horse, sharing some wonderful rides. While they didn’t fully integrate with the family, as much as we hope —perhaps due to language—they were a delight to host. They helped us so much, any host would be very lucky to have them & we wish you both all the best in your future endeavours.
