    Description

Hello, we are Michael, Monica and our almost 1-year old son Ray. We bought a house here in the beautiful hills of southern Tuscany about 1-year ago. Our house is the beginning of a community project on our land. We have a small plot of land here but we have some projects around the land that we want to begin this years they include.

    -A small veggie garden
-Helping to restore another guest room above the house
-Helping to build a wall in our garden
-General cleaning, clearing and maintenance of the land
    -Cooking / cleaning
    -Sometimes childcare with our baby

An ideal Workaway would be a couple (as our guest room has space for 2 people).

The house is 2 hours north of Rome and 2 hours south of Florence. Nearby are some very nice Tuscan villages, Pittgliano and Sovana. As mentioned there is the nearby retreat center which as attracted many international people in the nearby village (all about 20-minutes from the house by car).

The house is very secluded about a 5-min drive from the main road. A car is a bonus, but we can certainly drive into town as we go out usually every other day to run errands and meet friends in the towns.

The work away project would be good for someone who is writing or working on another online project and wants peace and quiet in the scenic Tuscan mountains near Mount Amiata. If you like music, you are in luck as Michael has a full recording studio in the garden house. Our house is often filled with music!

Our idea would be to have you volunteer 4-5 hours per day 6-days per week. We would pay for all food. The place where you stay has two single beds, so couple who want to work together are welcome. There's a separate entrance to your guest room and a full bathroom and kitchenette, but we are happy to share meals with you as well in the large kitchen in the main house.

A bit about the community project:

Around our house is a forest road with stunning views of the Tuscan hills and the distant sea. Along this road are about 6-7 vacant house. Our vision is to start a project where we can restore these houses and start a small eco-village of families to share gardens, social and eco-projects. Nearby are some other people who have lived here for a long time who could also be a part of the project.

We see our house as a hub or the seed of this community project so helping us to create a garden, a space for more volunteers and community is essential to the growth of this project!

It will be a slow, but fulfilling project to spend time with the workawayers and start our little community back on our land.

    A bit about us:

Michael is originally from the U.S. and works online as a music and meditation teacher and podcast producer. He is also a musician and creates music and sound healing around Tuscany, specially at a retreat center nearby called Alchemy School of Healing Arts (ASHA). He is passionate about meditation, sound, and deep listening.

Monica is a dancer and choreographer who lived in Berlin for 7 years, but now has moved back to her home country of Italy with Michael to raise their son. Monica also works as a yoga and qi gong teacher at the local retreat center and online.

Please let us know if you have any questions and we can schedule a chat!
