Hosting Noemi for two weeks was a truly special and unforgettable experience for our family. From the very first day, she became part of our home. She did an incredible job volunteering with our son, Matías. They connected beautifully—talking in English, playing, building Lego, playing soccer, riding bikes, and sharing so many joyful moments together. Her kindness, patience, and genuine care were evident every day, and it was wonderful to see how happy and comfortable Matías was with her. Sharing Christmas and New Year’s Eve and Day with her made the holidays even more meaningful. Making tamales together, celebrating as a family, and creating new traditions with her presence was amazing. She embraced our culture and family life with an open heart, and that meant so much to us. We are deeply grateful for the time we shared with her. We will truly miss her. We sincerely hope that our paths cross again in the future. We couldn’t recommend her more to any family lucky enough to host her.

We stayed with Petr for just under one month, starting in mid-November and ending in mid-December of 2025. Our tasks included picking mandarins, painting, other light tasks around the property, and cooking for/with the team. The work expectations were fair and clear, and the work days were flexible -- we were encouraged to take multiple days off to explore surrounding destinations! The countryside is BEAUTIFUL, the other workers are down to earth and cool, and the neighbors are fun (especially if you speak a bit of Russian). Petr was wonderful to talk to -- he is truly a world traveler, and his knowledge of the world and its people makes for fascinating conversation. And, of course, we ate very, very well while we were there. We also loved getting to know all ten cats and miss them already. In all, we could not recommend staying with Petr enough, and we both hope we have a chance to reconnect with Petr again!

We feel very grateful for our time in Ha Giang with the team. We spent one month volunteering there and it truly felt like home. The environment was lovely, and the work was relaxed most of the time, with lots of great interactions with the guests and the other volunteers. Everyone was super friendly and open, and we were able to make really good friends! The tasks were always clear and fair, and we had plenty of time to explore the city, enjoy cafés, karaoke, waterfalls, and of course happy water with the locals. We also learned about how a hostel works and even had the chance to do the famous Ha Giang Loop, which was unforgettable!!! We definitely recommend volunteering here and would love to come back someday. We miss you all!

It was my first workawayer experience and I just loved it! It was wonderful. I helped with cleaning, preparing the food and doing some translations. If you want to learn more about Buddhism, this is THE place to go: the teachings are incredible. Davison and Myogen were really helpful (and the rest of the staff too) and I was able to have time to ask all of my questions about my lectures concerning Buddhism. The food is incredible and I was very happy to help and to cook a little. Before arriving at the academy, Myogen made sure i had all the informations to find them and to know how everything works. I felt welcomed and i really enjoyed my 2 weeks at Taipei. The most difficult was to say good bye to all these wonderful people: I really thank them for their hospitality, the time they took for the teachings, and their generosity. I really hope to be able to come back one day.

I spent a month here in Argalasti between November and December and it was by far my favorite workaway experience! I was amazed at how well run and organized the shelter is. All dogs are so sweet and well cared for. I had only a little experience with dogs but Anika and the other volontiers were so kind and with their help I learned really quick. The work is feeding, cleaning, walking, cuddling and photographing the dogs. Its nothing too difficult and you can always ask Anika or the other volontiers if you are unsure. The dogs really depend on the workers here so its important that you are motivated and take good care of them. I learned so much from being here about Greece, animalcare and the situation for abandoned dogs in Greece. Thank you guys so much for your taking care of the lovely dogs!🌞🐶

Not sure what to say that hasn’t already been said in all the other glowing reviews, but Lisa and all the other community members really made this Workaway an amazing experience for us. Everyone was very kind and welcoming, community members and travelers both. All the meals were very tasty, healthy, and considerate of people’s dietary needs. Anyone with artistic interests can find a lot to learn and contribute here. The wellness machines were a great plus, and seemed helpful to use after a work shift. The way the days were structured allowed for a good amount of shared times at meals and events, with free times towards the middle and end of the day to walk around nearby or use the wellness machine or do anything else one wants to do. All the community members shared such great stories of how they started and from throughout their touring days - very inspirational, and felt so much wisdom from their stories :) Lisa in particular really went out of her way to make sure we were able to explore the local Alburquque and Santa Fe area on our short time there even though we didn’t have a car. We were also lucky to watch many of the community’s performances during the Christmas and New Years celebrations, so our time felt quite full of good moments. We are grateful to have shared this experience with everyone there <3

I only have positive things to say about my time at the hostel. I initially planned to stay for just one week, but that quickly turned into four, which probably says everything already. From day one, I felt genuinely welcomed and treated with so much care and respect. It didn’t take long before I felt like part of the family, not just a volunteer passing through. The atmosphere is warm, easy, and chill vibes in the best way. The meals were exceptional, and I was lucky enough to have my own room for the first three weeks, which made the whole experience even more comfortable. Work-wise, it was mostly housekeeping, something I actually enjoy (yes, I genuinely love cleaning), and the hours paired perfectly with my remote job. Because of this setup, I got to experience Antalya in a very local, grounded way, which is how I normally travel. Sending lots and lots of love to Hakan, Adem, Rush, Abla, and Hakan’s mom. I’m very grateful for this experience and would recommend the place wholeheartedly to future Workawayers.

My Workaway experience in a Free Primary School in Warri, Delta State , Nigeria was one to remember forever! My host Mr Zion , his family and his well organised team including the teachers and the children have welcomed me like no other ! The heartfelt atmosphere and care for my personal wellbeing and safety throughout my stay was outstanding. Being a teacher myself I was looking forward to the shared learning and cultural exchange over the Christmas period. Founded by my host Mr Zion and his wife, I visited two of the Clever Mind schools, based in disadvantaged areas. In collaboration with the teachers I introduced sustainable teaching practices from my own experience. Our cultural exchange included art, songs, stories, music and dance with the children participating delightfully. The highlight of my stay was two memorable Christmas events for the children, well organised and hosted by Mr Zion. His leadership, level of engagement, enthusiasm, passion, positivity and care is remarkable which is evident through respect and love from everyone around him. Thank you Mr Zion for an incredible experience I definitely recommend a visit to the Clever Mind’s of Warri ! I hope for an opportunity to return!

I spent two wonderful weeks here. Natalia wasn't there as in holidays, but Eyal was an extremely friendly and attentive host. He did everything to make us feel comfortable and readily shared his knowledge and life experience. During this time of year and school holidays, there were no retreats or teaching sessions. Therefore, I mainly worked in the garden and did some renovation work on the bungalows. The tasks were always varied and Eyal always ensured that schedules were strictly adhered to for the benefit of the volunteers. During the Christmas period, as volunteers, we joined in the celebrations with Eyal and his friends. We made chocolate and cooked together in a very cheerful atmosphere. The climate is ideal and the location is beautiful, with great attention paid to harmony and aesthetics. The volunteer accommodation is very comfortable and the three daily vegetarian/vegan meals are hearty and delicious. The nearest village, with all amenities, is a 20-minute walk away, which is very convenient for weekends! During my stay, it was mango season, and we made the most of it! I also thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful natural pool. In conclusion, I highly recommend this volunteer opportunity and would gladly return!

I loved staying with Ambo, Bea, Mina and Noé for three weeks in November. <3 They made me feel as part of the family from the very beginning and I really loved spending time with them. On the first weekend we already went on a day trip to Monchique and had a lovely picknick there, we also regularly visited the horses, went to the farmers market, visited school happenings at the kids schools or just cooked together and spend the evenings with nice chats. I enjoyed going on the trampoline with the kids or picking them up from school. I mostly spend like 3-4 hours a day helping Bea with domestic work or projects in the garden, which I really enjoyed. In my free time I mostly went to the beach with the E-Bike they give you, which is really nice, or walked parts of the Fishermen´s Trail. They are really laid back and they want you to have a good time and help where you want to help which was really nice. I already miss u guys! Hopefully see you soon <3

We can not recommend Dan and Shelby enough! I mean, we almost cried when we said goodbye to them. Dan and Shelby are the kind of people you want in your team. Kind, communicative, caring, and fun to be around. We really enjoyed spending time with them and will be dearly missed.
