Georgianna and Owen stayed with us for three weeks in October. From the very beginning, they fully integrated into our family life. They were very interested in and open to cultural exchange — whether it was regional food, local traditions, or German culture in general. In addition to helping with the apple harvest and building an enclosure for our goats, they were also willing to talk at the local elementary school about their home in the United States. Along with many good and meaningful conversations, we also had the chance to enjoy North American cuisine. We greatly enjoyed the time we spent with Georgianna and Owen and can highly recommend them.

Neri is a sweetheart! Though young, she is very mature and grounded. She is creative, open minded, humble and patient. She was willing to help with many things around the land, from small tasks like making a little brush out of natural materials to clear sawdust from the toilet, to cob plastering walls, and many things in between. She was not afraid to get her hands dirty or get involved in physically demanding tasks. She was very helpful and supportive when the land had to host more people. I loved having her on the land both for hanging out as well as getting things done. Her care and respect for my place was felt and appreciated :) Thank you Neri! Much love

I stayed at Karine's place for just about two weeks, and it was truly amazing! We mostly helped with the olive harvest as it came later than expected, and it was a real deal of climbing and picking from the ground. I really enjoyed the work, especially as it was teamwork and a great way to learn where the so-called liquid gold comes from! Karine and her team are great, extremely welcoming, and you instantly feel at home. I would go back in a heartbeat! All in all, I highly recommend this workaway experience if you want to immerse yourself in the Amazigh/Moroccan life from a woman's perspective, something truly unique and heart-warming!

What can I say about this family? I spent now quite some time with them. I first went there in April 2025 and came back for the summer holidays (and plan to come back more times ;) ) I simply loved it, they're an amazing family. It was my first workaway expirience and I couldn't ask for anything better. The work I did included mostly taking care of the house, working in the greenhouse and in the storage. Some days we worked a lot and some other days we did very little so there's more than enough time to hop on a train and visit Gent, Brugge but also Antwerp and the coastside. I loved every minute of it, from working, but also spending time with the kids (now almost full teenegers), watching movies and playing briscola. Ben and Leen are very good listeners, they really want to get to know you and to make you feel part of the family. Thank you guys for the wonderful time together!! I definitly reccomand spending time with them!

Federico came to help us at the house while we were away for Christmas, and from the very first moment he was extremely proactive and attentive. He immediately asked how he could help and showed great responsibility in taking care of our dog, Hufa, who absolutely loved him. Federico did an excellent job and went well beyond what we had asked of him. He took initiative, kept the house in great condition, and made sure everything was running smoothly in our absence. Communication with him was always easy and reliable — he was quick to respond, clear, and thoughtful in every message, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Overall, we truly enjoyed having Federico as a Workawayer and felt very lucky to have him. We would happily host him again and highly recommend him to any future hosts looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and kind.

Staying with Bonnie was definitely the highlight of my travels this year. I’m so grateful she welcomed me into her wonderful home and family. Her two boys? Absolute sweethearts — polite, kind, and hugging you goodnight like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Here’s a peek at what made this stay so rich and unforgettable: 1️⃣ World-building together: It took us several days, but we created a world map from recycled materials around the house. You’ll see it proudly on their wall when you visit! 🌍♻️ 2️⃣ Garden-to-table adventures: I picked fresh vegetables from their garden and learned to cook a local dish called Umushogoro (beans’ leaves). 🌱🍲 3️⃣ Cultural exchange through cooking: I shared my Chinese cooking, and I have to say — they handle chopsticks like pros! 🥢✨ 4️⃣ Fruit straight from the tree: Instead of buying avocados and bananas, I harvested them straight from the trees in their yard for the first time ever. 🥑🍌 5️⃣ Language and culture swaps: We shared our languages and cultures — and busted a few stereotypes along the way. MOST Chinese don’t eat dogs or snakes, I promise. 6️⃣ Chores + games = bonding: Doing dishes and laundry together, playing UNO and Six Qui Prend. Quick tip: never play Igisoro (A Rwandan board game) with Bonnie — she will wipe the floor with you. 😎🎲 And in between all of this? Laughter, tiny moments, and memories that will last forever. ❤️ If you’re reading these comments, chances are you’re looking for a truly unique travel experience. Don’t hesitate — send Bonnie a request. You’ll be welcomed like family, and I promise, it’ll be unforgettable. 🌟✈️

Alisa and her friends Inka and Vera spent several weeks with us as both "traditional" Workawayers and then house sitters so we could get away for a family break. Perfect for us - extremely reliable and diligent, fantastic with the girls - and excellent bakers of German Christmas treats... We can thoroughly recommend them to others and they are welcome back any time!

Where do I start ! From the moment I arrived on the land of Lara and Diego I felt myself relax and exhale ☺️ their land is incredibly beautiful and peaceful with plenty of birds, a river, a lovely dog and cat and of course them as a family ! I was super lucky to experience many community get togethers, a retreat and plant medicine ceremonies with their trusted Shaman. It is safe to say being with them for 5 months has changed me in many ways. I learned a lot from Lara and her dance therapy practice and about the land and plants from Diego. I have build a deeper connection with myself and my body because of the tranquility here and the space and time to move my body in nature. Volunteering jobs were lovely spending time with the kids, cooking and gardening and there was always room to express needs and preferences. I would recommend everyone to come and volunteer here and gift yourself this experience 🌸 muchos gracias por todo Familia 🥰

We enjoyed having Ruben on our place. He was very enjoyable, up for anything and got along well with everyone here. He always had a smile on his face even in the coldest weather. Ruben will be a great addition to any location which chooses to welcome him. Wir wünschen Dir alles Gute, Ruben ☺️.

I cannot recommend volunteering at Alex’s farm enough for those interested. This was my first Workaway experience, and it energized me to seek more of them in the future. I volunteered at Alex’s for two weeks. Not only has Alex done a wonderful job organizing his beautiful property and launching multiple activities on it, he is also a kind and open host. Alex is an open book. I found in him a great teacher who was always willing to share his deep expertise, or simply talk about any topic under the sun. Living with Alex taught me an immense amount about beekeeping, agroforestry, and the daily life of a rural Brazilian sustainable farmer. Our time together offered me a ton of perspective. Having hosted workawayers for ~10 years, Alex established very clear and reasonable parameters for the work. The tasks were generally easy, and varied depending on the needs of the day/season (e.g., pruning trees, harvesting and bottling honey, cleaning and organizing the house). Alex also considered my interests when assigning tasks. I feel very grateful for my time at the farm, and I’m excited to see how the project continues to evolve!

Nev stayed with us for about one month. First of all: Nev is an amazing person. He is full of love, always up for fun, and above all incredibly helpful and reliable 💚 He took loving care of the many puppies we had at this time, and always kept an eye on all the dogs. He cuddled with them every day, spent time with them and was truly there for all of them. The dogs trusted him and clearly felt safe and comfortable around him.🐾 Nev was present and willing to help with any kind of work. He helped with cleaning, cooking, clearing paths with the machete, fencing, and also did hard physical work using a shovel and pickaxe on the paths and around the property. He never complained and always worked with a positive attitude. He spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve with us, shared many laughs, played games, and became a real part of our little community. We went to the river together, did shopping in the village, and spent evenings around the campfire with other volunteers. Nev also warmly welcomed new volunteers, helped train them, explained the dogs’ individual needs, and supported them from the very beginning. When there were thunderstorms at night, he even slept on the sofa near them so they wouldn’t be alone. To add one more important thing: Nev is someone you can truly trust. He is responsible, caring, always present, and brings a calm, positive energy into any place. He also work very independently. Nev has left a real mark on our hearts and on this place. He was not just a volunteer, but part of our family, and we will always remember him with deep gratitude 🐶💕🥰

Lucia is truly the most amazing woman! We stayed for only 10 days but during that time felt totally part of a small family. We had one other workawayer staying, a really lovely Swedish guy, and every day would sit down with him, Lucia, and Piergianni for lunch and dinner. Lucia provided delicious vegan food, and sometimes we would instead cook for her, but either way it was all enjoyed together (with lots of homemade bread). She had great stories to tell and a wonderful philosophy about life. The work was very easy and we were given lots of independence - staying there you will learn to do tasks without having to ask much beforehand, and nothing was very demanding. Some days my boyfriend and I would collect wood for the fire, others I would cook a nice meal and he would make vegan cakes or cookies, and other days there were tasks like sweeping the windows and mowing the lawn. The reward was her company, her food, and the beautiful farmhouse. There was also plenty of alone time, which Lucia appreciates too, and days where we could visit places like Venice and Caorle. It was great to learn about the small changes we can make to live life less wastefully and more sustainably, as well as about the millions of other things Lucia was able to teach us. She is truly so funny and free-spirited, completely open-minded and caring, and absolutely someone we want to stay with again! As trans people, my boyfriend and I had been a bit worried about doing a workaway, but we ended up blown away by how loving and understanding Lucia was about all kinds of people, and we felt nothing but safe and respected with her. She is truly brilliant. We miss her and Piergianni (and Kaya of course) so very much and have had non-stop things to say about our visit ever since we left! Thank you Lucia for this experience, I really hope we meet again soon.

Yulia is an amazing person and a great helper. She came to help me with laying a wall using granite pieces and travertine, and she did a really beautiful job. I was honestly impressed by how careful and attentive she is. She works very neatly, patiently, and with a lot of respect for the details. You can really feel that she cares about what she’s doing. On top of that, Yulia is very easy and pleasant to be around — friendly, open, kind, and always polite. Communication with her was simple and natural. I can truly recommend Yulia as a Workaway helper. She’s reliable, warm, and a pleasure to work with.

I had the incredible chance to stay with this family for two weeks over Christmas and New Year, and from the very first moment I arrived, they opened their hearts and their home to me. Thanks to their kindness and warmth, I quickly felt like part of their beautiful family. For Christmas and New Year, including the preparations, we went to the finca of Helmer’s parents, where I had the privilege of meeting his whole family. Making tamales from scratch together was a very special experience that I will never forget, and they shared their traditions with me in such a heartfelt way. Beyond the celebrations, I also enjoyed so much delicious local food and many meaningful everyday moments, biking, harvesting lemons and tandarins and so much more. Matias is an incredibly smart and curious boy, and I had so much fun playing with him. His English is great, too. I feel deeply grateful and lucky to have met this family, and I already know how much I will miss them. I carry so many beautiful memories. If you are ever in this region and have the chance to stay with them, don’t hesitate for a second, because being part of this family is a gift. They are truly special.

I had such a great time with Bastiaan and I really felt sad that he needed to leave (but happy for him that he could continue his journey). Such a great and thoughtful person. We quite often had deep and good conversations, when we both had the energy. For work he picked up the task of pointing a natural stone wall, which he did an excellent job on. He even taught other WA'ers how to do it, so they could continue his work when he left. I not only recommend him to other hosts, I hope he'll be back one day.

Faye is such a good person! One of the best hosts and people I've met ever! I helped her getting olives and then we took the sacks to the press and packed the oil in bottles. She pays attention to your well being. Amazing place, amazing woman
