my thumb looking at the cosmos, I floated to you through the island with the intention to arrive into Sardinian winter softer: "I'll ground into magical land to let peace flow back, by giving back to welcoming rainbow family" even through this time that was so short to you, you made my presence here feel so natural and enjoyed. by taking care of your peas and sharing laughter with your kids, I could recover by the fire. your stories resonate in my soul, your food nourished more than my belly. you're in my nomad heart, thank you family 🤍

We had an amazing experience hosting Tino at our hostel and honestly couldn’t recommend him more. He stayed with us for over a month, and he truly became part of the family. From day one, he had a great attitude: responsible, proactive, and always happy to help with whatever was needed. During his stay, he took on many different tasks, adapting easily to the day-to-day needs of the hostel and always showing commitment and a positive mindset. Over time, we realized that his real strength was social media, so we decided to put him fully in charge of it, and it was absolutely the right decision. He’s incredibly good at it, very creative, with a great eye for content, and he knows exactly how to capture and communicate the essence of the hostel. The results were noticeable very quickly, and we were genuinely impressed by his work. On a personal level, Tino is an amazing human being. He is super social, charming, and always has a smile on his face. He gets along incredibly well with other volunteers, staff members, and everyone around him, bringing great energy and good vibes wherever he goes. He makes living and working together easy and enjoyable. All in all, Tino has been an outstanding volunteer and an even better person. We are truly grateful for everything he brought to the hostel, both professionally and personally. We would love to host him again and highly recommend him to any Workaway host. Anyone would be lucky to have him as part of their project

Cristobal and Kristle are beautiful people to have around, kind, respectful, open-hearted and open- minded with a lovely spirit of enthusiasm. The few days we spent together were so enjoyable, and my pets Bruno and Molly were in excellent hands, they were completely calm when i returned from my trip. They kept the house clean and warm, and tidied up the garden and chopped wood for me. The house was calm and peaceful when I returned, so I felt very fortunate to have found two such special people, as well as new friends. This has often been my experience with workaway, it is a real community! Thank you Cristobal and Kristle!

I am truly grateful to Jonnita and Kevin. When I first arrived in Brisbane, I didn’t know anything and felt very lost. During my stay at their home, they gave me daily advice and support to help me find work, and thanks to them, I was able to secure three jobs. Anastasija and Tatiana are such lovely, happy children, and seeing them every day was a joy for me. Scribble the cat and Rex the dog are also good companions. They mainly asked me to help with household chores rather than childcare, and all of the tasks were basic household duties. I was provided with a spacious room and bathroom, and they kindly shared meals and food with me, making my stay very comfortable. I feel very lucky to have met such a generous and sweet family.

We are a few weeks late writing this review, but even now the initial Pukirangi infatuation has worn off, we still think very often and fondly of our experience with Mark and Maz. They are inspirational people with an ambitious project, being a part of that has been really amazing. The job can be hard work but it is also really satisfying to get rid of those nasty weeds and Mark guides you through it and offers you so much in return. The place itself is serene and beautiful. You can do lots of walks on the territory and there is even a place were you can spend the night under the stars. Both Mark and Maz were really lovely and wise people, we feel honoured to have gotten to know them and Mark's pretty-much-life-long dedication to this project made us want to start our own and definitely inspired us to live life closer to nature (and buy fewer Dole products).

I feel very lucky to have had the chance to do a work exchange here. She is a very kind and welcoming host. Her home is beautiful and very tidy. You can really tell how much care she puts into it. During my stay, I helped with weeding and oiling work, and she always prepared different meals for me. In my free time, she kindly took me to many different places. We also watched seals and stingrays together, which became a very unforgettable memory for me. During the week we spent together, I learned a lot from her and heard many different stories that gave me time to reflect and think. This made my week here very meaningful. I truly wish her good health and a happy, joyful life, and I highly recommend others to come and connect with her as well~

I had a beautiful three weeks with Anand and his family in this peaceful corner of crazy, beautiful Varanasi. The ashram is a great space, not just for playing music, but also as a place for comraderie, learning, and community. I was lucky to have shared my time with a group of other volunteers and musicians who quickly became family, and Anand held it all together with his delicious cooking, incredible skills on the flute, and many many interesting (and silly) conversations. In terms of work, I helped by clearing out and painting bedrooms, general sweeping and tidying around the gardens, and helping to fix up an outdoor sleeping space. The place runs on vibes rather than a fixed schedule, which may not suit everyone - just something to keep in mind if you're thinking of applying. The living situation is as described in the listing - basic, but comfortable. You'll have your own room, and Anand is chill if you wish to paint/decorate and make it your own. Anand is a genuine, kind, and thoughtful soul who cares so deeply about those around him. Just know that by visiting you'll be contributing to someone with their heart in the right place, with big vision, and good intentions. Thanks so much mate, may our paths cross again - I will cherish the countless evenings spent playing music and laughing together forever x

What can I say. Willing to tackle any task, undemanding and always helpful, a humble exterior hides an amazingly accomplished and capable human being. She brings with her a truly awe inspiring array of skills, experience and wisdom that is graciously and willingly shared. If you are fortunate enough to host Joti, consider yourself most blessed. She is patient, kind and fun to be around.

Ben was part of our family for over two months between November 2025 and January 2026, and we practically consider him our nephew and a cousin for our children. He instantly bonded with our family through games with the kids, long chats, and sharing weekend activities. He's a very well-mannered boy, very helpful and available, flexible and easygoing, and genuinely passionate about the Italian language, which he speaks and understands very well. He revealed a tenderness, candor, and desire to apply himself that are very rare among young people today: truly a good boy! He enjoys all kinds of food and is deeply grateful for every attention. He has generously showered us with gifts and has never turned down a request, from assembling furniture to cleaning the house, from helping my children with homeworks to folding laundry. He has always carried out every task with care and attention. We alrrady miss him so much, but we are certain that we will meet again and our friendship will continue forever! And moreover he has a lovely and very friendly mummy we had the pleasure to meet: she proves that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

Molly is a sweet, respectable and pleasant young lady to be with. We spent Xmas and New year together an it felt like extended family. We enjoyed so much her presence and her contact with the kids was lovely and helpfull. She helped in what she could and we developed a nice contact and friendship. Molly respected the house rules and we will miss her so much. It was fun and we hope she enjoyed to learn new skills and experiences with us. I truly recommend her!

My time with Jane and Sherlock was one of the highlights of my summer. The place is simply magical. Jane gave me a lot of space to explore the island but I didn't even want to leave the perfect oasis she has created. I was encouraged to pick my own little project in the garden that I was working on when the sun wasn't too harsh. I was never pressured to do anything at all. Jane is incredibly kind and such a fun company. Honestly, I felt completely spoiled the entire time. Her cooking and baking is to die for and having a look into her life on the island was such a special experience. Everyone in the local community is so wonderful. I learned a lot from the conversations we shared over lunches and dinners. I couldn't recommend this opportunity enough to anyone who's thinking about it.

This is the kind of place that gives me hope! Alex, Adrei and Alex (interning for a few months) were all very welcoming. They are all very skilled and incredibly hard working. I had the chance to explore many tasks, from harvesting to cleaning to discussing the way of operating a small scale organic farm. We also had a nice pizza evening. Andrei was very clear in his instructions, while always eager to answer questions about the farm. Alex gave me little ideas / projects with some autonomy on the execution part. I liked that mix of structure an knowledge, combined with the freedom of having your own initiatives.

You will not find a more loving and caring place, my stay was short but I've experienced the true love of a big family, I enjoyed every minute of it . I did help with the new cofee shop opening, doing some decorations with the kids, spending time with them was amazing, the surroundings are peaceful and you can get the scooter to have a look around . overall it was a very peaceful moment and I will definitely recommend. 🐘☀️🩷

It was an absolute pleasure hosting Anton and Melina. Their energy and productivity were amazing from day one. They contributed a lot to organizing and working on many different projects, always showing strong problem-solving skills and a great attitude. Once they were given a task, I barely had to follow up — they worked independently and reliably until everything was completed. This was incredibly supportive for me and something I truly appreciated. They were always on time, productive, communicative, and a real pleasure to work with. On top of that, the positive energy, having fun together, and enjoying events with them made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend Anton and Melina to any Workaway host.

J’ai rencontré une famille très accueillante. Je me suis sentie bien immédiatement.

My stay with Mike was a truly wonderful experience! His property is a fascinating project under construction – with a well thought-out, innovative approach and lots of exciting details to discover. The work tasks were varied and interesting, and after a productive day, a delicious dinner always awaited us. Mike himself is a fascinating person who has great stories to tell about the construction phase. I particularly appreciated his helpful tips for leisure activities and the snorkelling equipment he provided, which made excursions even more memorable.

The time at Fenella's was simply wonderful! The property is a little paradise – lovingly designed and with the cutest chickens, which delighted us every day. It was a pleasure to help maintain the grounds and be part of this special place.

Thank you so much for these wonderful three months! It was my first time being a WorkAway and I couldn’t have wished for a better placement - Meike and her family were incredibly welcoming, and it was very easy to settle in! Caring for the animals is truly peaceful, and you get to learn so much about animals you may have never come in contact with before - for me, that was especially the case with the chicken and bunnies ;) Staying here, I quickly realised how well their animals are cared for and how they always come first, which i really loved. The workload definitely varied with the seasons but was always really manageable, leaving plenty of free time. Personally, I just spent this time studying or relaxing in the hot tub, but that is entirely up to you. On weekends, we’d often spend time together, and Meike would show me some of the surrounding areas - even in freezing weather we’d head out for short hikes/walks, so be prepared for a truly outdoorsy experience ;)
It was also very easy to maintain a vegetarian lifestyle, and the studio/apartment was absolutely lovely. I really enjoyed my time with you guys and I’d return in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for everything <3
