Marlene stayed with us about 2 weeks. She is a very lovely and responsible person. As a volunteer she was always ready to help whenever we needed. We did some farm work together and also bamboo work , many little chores in the farm. She is also very helpful at kitchen. Besides the work we had so many free times to enjoy together with other volunteers as well , such as rock climbing , swimming , hiking. We even went to weekend music festival ! We definitely recommend Marlene to all other workaway hosts. Hope to see you soon again :)

We stayed at the farm as a family of three with a one year old baby and had a fantastic week there. The dog just had puppies so that was a huge highlight and the work at the Food Forrest was also fun. We were quite lucky with the weather as we had some cloudy days. Ash recommended some great things to do after the volunteering in the afternoon. Great restaurants, beaches, places to see... Overall, we had an amazing time! Thank you ❤️

Words cannot describe the excellent experience that I had, with Enca, her pets, her friends, other volunteers, the garden, the house - all very special. Enca is caring and considerate and provides all. She works with the volunteers, giving information about local and cultural things. She shares her home with an open heart - thank you Enca, we are now connected.

Vitto is such a kind and polite young man. He has lived at my place for two months, and I have enjoyed having him in the house. He has been very keen to help and support. He is quiet and respectful, and I have felt very safe leaving him to house- and petsit while I was travelling. He has been interested in learning new skills. I will recommend him to other hosts.

Fantastic first Workaway experience, staying at Zohras guesthouse in Fort-de-France for three weeks. I got to meet lots of interesting travelers, work with some interesting projects like building a second bathroom below the hallway stairs and a shower on the terrace, and also having nice conversations with Zohra and guests in the evenings, which has become a bit of a family now. With the freedom I had, the openness to creative ideas and the positive tone throughout my stay here, I can highly recommend anyone staying at Zohras if they ever come to Martinique. 5/5⭐️ and all the best 😊💫✨ ----- Première expérience Workaway fantastique !

After a rather rough start to my Workaway journey in Ireland, when I had to leave my previous host due to extremely poor hygiene standards, Kathleen and Vincent kindly agreed to take me in at very short notice. That turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. From the moment they picked me up at the bus station, they made me feel welcome and treated me with great kindness. During my stay, I had many wonderful conversations over lunch and dinner with them and their extended family. We talked about all sorts of topics — from cultural differences between Germany and Ireland to Gaelic sports, running, and many other interesting subjects. There was always something new to learn or discuss. I also went running with Vincent three times a week, which was a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and stay fit. My main tasks during the week involved gardening, such as cutting hedges and pulling weeds. Whenever the weather turned particularly bad, there was always the option to go inside, warm up, and enjoy a hot cup of tea. At the weekends, I had plenty of free time. All in all, I had a truly great experience with Kathleen, Vincent, and their family, and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering staying with them. I really enjoyed my time with you and hope to see you again in the future.

It was an absolute privilege to host Wilfred as a volunteer here in January 2026. Overall, Wilfred is a genuinely kind, committed, and generous individual whose presence made a lasting impact on our organization and the communities we serve. During his time with us, Wilfred provided both financial and technical support toward the renovation of Nedi Pre-School. Together, Wilfred and the team worked hand in hand to paint the entire school building, transforming it into a bright and welcoming learning environment for young children. In addition, he supported the engagement of a professional painter to design beautiful educational murals on the walls, creating an inspiring and child-friendly atmosphere that will benefit learners for years to come. Wilfred also extended his support to Nchalo Children’s Corner by donating playing materials and sewing machines for the caregiver. This was not only a gesture of appreciation for her many years of dedicated service, but also a sustainable investment in the future of vulnerable children. The sewing machines will be used to produce school uniforms for children who cannot afford them, thereby restoring dignity and promoting school attendance among the most disadvantaged. Beyond material support, Wilfred was a true friend to everyone at the office. He blended easily with staff, demonstrated humility, and showed deep respect for the community. Charity work is clearly at the heart of who he is. He also visited several support groups, engaging members in meaningful discussions and helping them reflect on practical strategies for strengthening and advancing their initiatives. Wilfred’s contribution went beyond volunteering — he built relationships, inspired hope, and strengthened our shared mission. We are sincerely grateful for his dedication and warmly welcome him back anytime. On behalf of the team, I and the communities we serve, we highly recommend Wilfred and commend his generous spirit and commitment to sustainable community development.

It was fun a stay here! Even though there was some rain and the camp was under construction I deeply enjoyed the place. I helped to fix the "Pizza Hut" and the roof of one of the stables after some storm damage. It was inspiring to hear the future plans for the camp and hope they get realised in the coming years. #redacted# it was a delight to see his passion for the project and solution based mindset. I hope to return in the coming years to see some of that sweet chestnut wood turn into community spaces!

I had such a lovely experience staying and volunteering here. The atmosphere in the hostel was very relaxed, easygoing, and welcoming from the very beginning. It truly felt like a comfortable space where everyone could be themselves. My host was incredibly friendly, supportive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. Communication was clear, expectations were fair, and I always felt respected and appreciated. It made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I’m very grateful for the time I spent here and would absolutely recommend this place to other Workawayers looking for a positive, chilled, and friendly environment

Haruka is a very polite Japanese woman. She did everything we asked of her. She did some housework, some planting seeds, dog walking and helping learn some cooking skills as well as cooking a Japanese curry for us. We are both a bit deaf and her ultra polite and quiet voice was difficult to hear sometimes. Our dog was very fond of her. I think our very quiet surroundings and our very quiet lifestyle were rather a major change for her after living in London. I think she welcomed the days out she spent with a guest in our gite to give her some relief from the quiet. We wish her well with pursuing an independent enterprise of her own on line.

Noël Burgener spent five weeks as a guest on our private farm. She always performed all the necessary household chores, such as cleaning, tidying, and ironing, to our complete satisfaction! We especially appreciated her knowledge of gardening and permaculture. She assessed compost heaps, planted flowers, pruned roses, and implemented measures to reduce grass in the garden and flowerbeds. She is knowledgeable about all kinds of diets (she even cooked keto meals), possesses incredible general knowledge, and is skilled in international cuisine! Her friendly nature, warm sense of humor, interest in German customs, helpfulness, and, above all, her love for our animals deserve special mention. We trusted her completely when we were away. We will all miss Noël very much, both humans and animals! The lovely winter evenings spent working on crafts and chatting will also remain a cherished memory for a long time.

I spent 2 weeks at Silka’s to play and spend time with Ibrahim and Omar, and I spent a great time ! I was very well received, I quickly felt like home and I really had the impression of being part of the family. Silka is a great mom. She helped me a lot throughout my stay, whether it was for the journey, for the SIM card, to find a tailor, to take train tickets. She also let me use her computer! Naaa too kind, such a loving person. She also has a good sense of humor, we laughed a lot. She always helped me when I needed it. Ibrahim is very intelligent, we managed to communicate and play, despite the language difference. He has a lot of imagination and finds games from what's around him. Omar is a little more reserved, you have to give him a bit more time. But he also likes to play, especially trying to catch him. I was also able to learn lots of little words in Indonesian thanks to the children. I was extremely well nourished. Every day Silka or Uti brought different foods. Silka also showed me around the city and I was able to intervene in a school ! It was a great experience that I will not forget! Frankly, my whole stay was great, I recommend it 1000% to anyone who likes to have fun with children and learn more about Indonesian culture. Ps: big up to Uti who gave me love, watermelon juice and more !

Miriam was the first Workawayer I hosted in almost a two-year hiatus. I enjoyed her company and how thoughtful she was. She helped me practice pronunciation, cooked for us, played with my nephew and invited us (me, my niece and nephew) to eat out on her last day. We also had some deep conversations that fostered our connection to each other and to ourselves. I wish she could stay longer than a week. Thank you and take care, Miriam!
