    Description

Kayak across a river to our remote water-only access property in the New Zealand bush. We have a home over here that we want to share with like minded people as we do up and maintain the property. My name's Ayana and I've just been backpacking and volunteering around the world and want to bring the world back home where my parents (Tanya & Kerry) and I are living. We're less than 10 minutes drive from the remarkable Hot Water Beach and breathtaking Cathedral Cove.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live on a very unique property. Just to get here you have to kayak or row across a river, trudge through mangrove mud, walk across a long jetty, then reach our little haven in the bush. It's an insight into a life lived differently and we want to share that with people.

Having people from different cultures, experiences and backgrounds is fantastic for us to keep learning and connecting with the world. We want to get to know you, what you're about, and where you're from. We look forward to learning about your culture.

We like card games, music, sharing meals, and chatting on the deck for hours. While it's a unique lifestyle even in NZ, you'll get a classic NZ cultural experience.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are close to Cooks Beach, Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach and Whitianga. There are so many beautiful places to explore around and we look forward to giving you some local tips!

If you don't have a car, you can bus or fly to Whitianga and we can pick you up from there. If you have a car, we have parking available.

We want this to be an inclusive experience for all, however due to the nature of the property there are some hazards to consider, like the board walk and kayaks. Please consider your physical ability, any injuries, and ask if you aren't sure. Water is the only way on or off the property and it's important you can become independent at doing this.
