Anna and Pepa were lovely workawayers to have with us. They stayed for 2 weeks and were up for any task we gave them. Also in the free time they were taking care in the house, like keeping the kitchen tidy and helped with cooking. Thanks!

It was so nice having Jude with us for 2 weeks. He is a super friendly and funny guy who helped us a lot with crafting all kind of things like fixing a safety bar for the stairs, building a shed from big tree branches and more. Bonus: he plays guitar very well

It was so easy spending time with them. They're calm, relaxed, and they get things done completely. Sophie and Mads are a great team, especially with the gardening. It was lovely sharing this little house with them. Thank you for everything.

Martine was help us in English teaching volunteering in Banda Aceh and also in Takengon as our main office. She was a humble and easy going person. The student was so fun and happy to meet and learning English practice with her. Even she doesn't have a experience that much in Teaching English but she was such as amazing passion. She could manage and engaged the feeling of the kids for her to be hear and listen make fun English learning. In Takengon the kids called her is OMA cause the kids loved her after teaching the students took her to take walk around the disaster their home town has gone. A spirit of touch gave to the kids. Miria es una persona muy ordenada, limpia y proactiva. No necesita supervisión constante, porque tiene un motor interno propio: observa el espacio, entiende lo que hace falta y propone mejoras por iniciativa propia. Tiene una sensibilidad especial para rediseñar y embellecer los lugares. Durante su voluntariado en nuestras dos cabañas en el Cajón del Maipo, realizó un trabajo precioso. Creó y dio vida a un jardín hermoso, cuidó con dedicación la cabaña destinada a los huéspedes y fue muy responsable y cariñosa con nuestras mascotas. El cuidado de Pepino y Aurora —que son seres vivos y lo más importante para nosotros— fue siempre atento y respetuoso. Su trabajo ha sido muy bien valorado. Nos ayudó muchísimo y fue realmente encantador tenerla con nosotros. La comunicación fue siempre clara y fluida, tanto por WhatsApp como de manera presencial, resolviendo dudas y sacando adelante el trabajo en conjunto. Fue una experiencia de voluntariado muy positiva. Sin duda, nos encantaría repetirla con Miriam, ya sea en la ciudad, en Santiago o nuevamente en la montaña. Thank you very much for your friendliness, responsibility and help throughout some challenges from bad weather to the sad times when chief cat Moses health declined and he finally passed. We all are really going to miss you. And for anybody who thinks of taking in Judith and Elina as workawayer, I can say they really are: - reliable, trustworthy, capable and very responsible - good in DIY and do repairs self-responsible - very good communication skills & high resilience - hardworking, always attending to all the animals in need with utmost care - great problem solvers and very skilled, well organized - showed great understanding, care and love for the animals - dogs aswell as cats - kept the house and kennel clean and organized - nice to talk to and spend time with, easy going, good company They took over the following tasks: - harvesting and cleaning up in the gardens - cared for animals (cats and dogs) and took them on walks - did care for the village cats - worked with a traumatized stray dog and managed to touch him (Merlin) - walked the dogs (sometimes including the village dogs and strays - up to 8 dogs then) - did train all dogs to put on the sleeping suits for winter - provided me with pics of the animals - helped shopping and carry heavy things It was a pleasure to have Judith and Elina here and we all do miss them. We had a really great time here. It was a wonderful encounter. Sarah is a respectful, kind and very helpful person and we enjoyed our stay. She is always happy and enthusiastic about the work we'd done. We had great culturals exchanges. Her dogs are just lovely and very friendly with our Labrador. Everything was perfect! I really enjoyed volunteering here and felt like part of the family from the day I arrived. Everyone is super nice and welcoming, and the overall vibe was just really great! I felt very comfortable and safe in Buen Hombre, it actually feels like home now and leaving wasn't easy at all....I’ll definitely come back again soon :)

I had a wonderful time at Dimches place. His land and his house are magic! I loved having the company of the dogs and being able to spend the days with them outside, down by the water surrounded by trees. It's a place for people who like solitude, who are comfortable living simply within nature and of course for people who love dogs. Dimche was always very kind and available through message or phone whenever I had any questions or needed something. He is the epitome of a gentle giant. For me it was perfect to be there and get some writing work done; I felt very inspired while there and am grateful for the connections I formed with the dogs and for the time in general. Tamara is a super kind and very polite girl. During all the time she was with us, she was always trying to help; she is lovely and very grateful! She is sociable and showed interest at all times in getting to know us better, as well as our cats. It’s clear that she truly loves animals!🥰 Even though she has experience and works in the field, she always wanted to know how we administer the medication. She never imposed her own habits, even though we asked her to and told her to do it in whatever way was most comfortable for her. She sent us photos and daily feedback on how they were doing, which we are immensely grateful for!🙂 When we returned from our vacation, the apartment was well taken care of, and our furry ones were also in perfect condition—and it was clear that they loved her.😻 Tamara: you already know you have a room in Coruña to come back to; hopefully with better luck with the weather next time! 🙂 We wish you all the best in life! Hope our paths will cross again!

Bonitos días disfrutamos con Mélina y Romain. Son dos chicos con mucha linda energía e inquietud para aprender, compartir y ayudar a los demás. Siempre estaban listos para darnos manos y amor en el proyecto. Pudimos compartir con ellos sobre bioconstrucción con bambú, tierra, un poco de agricultura y mucha buena comida. Daban lo mejor de sí en cada actividad y eso lo agradecemos mucho. Se les recuerda con mucha alegría y gratitud. Esperamos volverles a ver en algún otro momento. One of the best experiences on Workaway! Carole and Frank are a lovely couple and are taking really good care of everyone. Work-life-balance was excellent. The conversations during the day were so much fun. There's a lot one can learn from their life-experience and stories. Be aware that you could easily fall in love with one of the puppies Carole is taking care of;) It happened to us with little Teddy who turned our life upside down since then. Thank you for the amazing time!

Yaara is a thoughtful, calm, friendly, and incredibly talented person! She was our very first Workawayer, and we truly feel that we could not have asked for a better person to begin this journey with. She left so many wonderful things behind at our place. Because she is highly creative, she painted for us, built a firewood rack through a DIY project (which was her own idea!), and even played the lyra at one of our events. She also taught us macramé from scratch and kindly repaired my worn sweater. She took on every task with care and enthusiasm—and we are honestly amazed by how many projects she was involved in during her stay. She is also very considerate and often asked, “Can I help with anything?” She came up with ideas to make systems more practical and user-friendly, and she contributed greatly to building our volunteer-hosting setup as a whole. She seemed to truly love this place and even extended her stay twice (which made us very happy!). Please come back anytime—you will always have your own loft waiting for you here. Nilli is a very good host, laid-back, and a really good cook, he prepared some delicious meals with some home grown chillies from his garden. He is a real aficionado about chillies. Living in a small village in the middle of Bulgaria, close to nature was so refreshing and calming at the same time. I would love to come again to see how the place has grown. See you soon Nilli.

Rahul was my first ever host on workaway, and he truly made this experience a memorable one. He is such a soft and caring person, which makes one feel very safe being by his side. He is open-minded, friendly and doesn't like to rush things. So we really took the time needed to meet properly, we chatted on the most various topics (among others permaculture ofc), exchanged ideas and often had lunch together. I stayed for about one week at his place (and frankly could have stayed for much longer !). It is situated in a quiet and peaceful rural area, yet not too far away from Khajuraho center (4-5 km). This actually enabled me to have an immersive overview of daily life in this region on India. Even though the infrastructures Rahul's offering are simple, you will be provided with delicious food and a cosy shelter. I was still jetlagged when arriving, so this was just what I need to get some quality rest. Wifi worked perfectly. I had hot water to wash myself and filtered one to drink. Nevertheless, at the moment I am writing this (February 2026), the homestay is very new. There is still a lot to develop, build and improve - i.e. the vegetable garden. Don't come here and expect a fully functionning farm. However, if you like taking some initiatives, especially in gardening, and enjoy creating new eco-friendly community spaces, you might want to plan a stay here. All in all, dear Rahul, I am profoundly grateful to be now part of this adventure with you. Thanks for the chai's, the laughs and the trust ! À la prochaine 🌱

O local de trabalho; é um espaço maravilhoso em meio à natureza, com cabana privada para o voluntário, cozinha equipada, sala de estar com lareira, banheiro privativo. No primeiro andar está o quarto com uma varanda que podes admirar as montanhas e a entrada da cidade abaixo, pela noite você se sente mais próximo às estrelas. A anfitriã; Carla é uma pessoa carismática, super simpática, alegre, educada e compreensiva. Toda a semana ela levava a cesta de alimentos completa, com itens que eu não costumo comprar por serem caros. Na cesta tinha grãos, frutas, legumes, leite e derivados, marmelada, além de duas proteínas. Adquiria equipamentos de trabalho para o que necessitava nas cabanas. O trabalho; para além dos serviços corriqueiros em hospedagens na cabana grande, a pessoa deve conhecer, mesmo um pouco, de jardinagem e saber cuidar de dois lindos e amigáveis cachorros. A aurora é um siberiano que é a guardiã da cabana, já o pepino é um guarda costas, ele te acompanha onde você for, e, para ir ao mato ele é necessário, pois sente animais pequenos que não percebemos. A experiência; espero um dia voltar para o trabalho voluntário com a Carla, a experiência foi enriquecedora.

Melania is an exceptional Workawayer. She lived with me for 6 months and helped in every imaginable way—always with a strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and care. She noticed tasks before they were even mentioned and completed them thoroughly and independently. At the same time, she brought the most wonderful mood and positive energy every single day. Melania is reliable, hardworking, and a true pleasure to have in one’s home. I give her my warmest recommendation to any host. She will be missed.

J’ai passé un très bon séjour chez Dina du 8 au 18 décembre et j'ai dû préparer la maison pour Noël. ❄️🎅🏻🏡 Dina est une hôtesse très accueillante : elle est venue me chercher à l'arrêt de bus et avait préparé un délicieux repas pour mon arrivée. 🍲✨ Elle m'a aussi aidé pour les courses et pour découvrir la région - on a fait une bonne balade aussi. ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🍃˚.⛰️⋆☁️ Quand elle était absente, sa voisine Karine m'a gentiment conduit à la gare d'Épinal pour prendre mon train. 🚗｡°🚂༄｡°💨 La maison est grande et très belle et j'ai beaucoup aimé l'ambiance du feu de bois. 🔥🏭 J'ai appris à mieux utiliser les mécanismes de la cheminée grâce aux conseils de Dina. Cette expérience m'a bien préparé pour affronter le mois de janvier très rude dans la campagne finlandaise ! 🌲🌟 Merci encore pour cet accueil chaleureux. 🙏🏼⭐

Yrsa en Remi zijn een enthousiast koppel, die graag met dieren en in de natuur werken. Door de vele regenval viel dat niet altijd mee. Yrsa weet veel van paarden en ze heeft ons geleerd hoe paarden je gaan vertrouwen. Ook hebben ze een aantal bakken gemaakt voor de moestuin. Als je ze nodig had, kwamen ze gelijk helpen. Ondanks dat ze niet lang bij ons zijn geweest, hebben ze veel bijgedragen. Ze zijn altijd weer welkom.
