Description
I have a country house in the hills behind Torrox. I have 2 acres of land which is nestled in the hills in the shadow of the Tejeda National Park.
I don't take single Workaways (sorry 😞 ).
This is beautiful area but please don't apply unless you like peace and solitude. There is nowhere to party here unless you go down to the coast. So if you apply to come here please be aware of this. If you want to smoke dope and drink, this is not the place for you !
There is no transport to the coast but I pop down during the week and would take you on some days off.
I have a small pool and good WiFi.
I have three dogs and a cat. Sometimes you will be asked to walk. The animals take priority in this house😄😄😄
A variety of help is needed mostly in the garden and land. Planting plants and trees, weeding and general tidying and maintenance.
I generally only accept workaways with feedback or an alternative reference if new to WA.
The hours are usually 9 - 2 with a short break for 5 days. (If you smoke the expectation is that you smoke during your break and not whilst you’re working and nowhere near the house).
The standard help required is cleaning, gardening some maintenance & repairs depending on skills. We all have strengths, weaknesses, preferences etc.
I am normally always around but you should be able to do the tasks without constant supervision, and have initiative, someone who can see something needs doing and is happy to do it.
Occasionally I have professional trades people to do bigger jobs and if the project is of interest to you you may work alongside and learn from them.
Contact me if:-
You have enthusiasm 😀
You have a good sense of humour and solid work ethic.
You appreciate and understand living with animals and the joys & frustrations that can bring, including when necessary cleaning up their 💩 😄
You are physically fit (gardening can be quite physical).
You love animals.
You like being part of a team but can equally work alone.
You are able to help without constant supervision & micro management.
Please do not consider coming:-
If you have other commitments/priorities that mean you cannot fulfill your commitments here.
If you are just coming for a free “holiday”
If you are unwell (of course I will care for you if you become unwell during your stay).
It’s important that you understand the importance of cleaning up after yourselves (particularly in shared spaces). You are expected to thoroughly clean your accommodation on departure. It will be clean when you arrive.
I generally only commit to hosting for 2 weeks, in some cases I will agree to extend once the volunteer has been here for 1 week, depending on skills and projects.
Minimum age 20
You will be treated with respect and have comfortable accommodation but you will be asked to respect the shared areas i.e. the kitchen and my living room.Types of help and learning opportunities

Keen gardners are welcome and those with an interest in the environment, land, trees and basic maintenance projects. You will be expected to cook for yourselves.
