    Description

We are a retired couple looking for help in the garden, DIY and building a barn. We have hosted a volunteer before when we were living in France. weare easy going and love animals, we have 3 border collie dogs and 2 cats and re also do fostering for the local dog rescue center, so an animal lover is essential!

Happy to have either experienced or novices as we are happy to teach new skill to those who are keen.
We are in a typical greek country village but only 8 mins by car to the beach.

We have just bought a house in Crete and it needs painting.....the garden needs weeding and trees pruning, and we are also dry stone wall building around the outside area. We are also constructing a barn for use as a workshop and creating a new garden area around this.
There is also guttering to be put up.
My husband is an engineer and experienced in many things and is happy to teach skills to someone who is interested.
A minimum stay of 2 weeks but if we get on and you wanted to we are looking for helpers up to June, so a longer stay is certainly possble.

    What else ...

We have a swimming pool but obviously not for the winter, that will be set up for the spring....although the sea is warm enough to swim in now, warmer than the sea in England in the summer. we regually see swimmers when we go to the beach with the dogs. A lift is offered to the beach on your time off and also to the bus stop for onward travel to Chania or Heralion or Rethymno. The climate is very mild in winter....december temperatures are usually mid teens and january can be a little colder, and usualy by febuary we regually have temperatures of around 20 degrees.
There is a bar in the village with locals who dont speak english so a good opertunity to try out the language. This bar is within walking distance.
Temperatures in december are between 12-20 degrees so far....it rains a bit more in January and might go down to single figures but Febuary usually has lovely teperatures again of around 20 degrees....
