Phil stayed with me for seven weeks, from the beginning of January until now, and it has been a real pleasure to host him. During the stay, we worked on a variety of projects including painting, interior finishing, and building a movable sauna from scratch. Phil approached every task with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Whether it was detailed indoor work or more physically demanding construction tasks, he showed both skill and dedication. Phil is practical, reliable, and able to work independently when needed. At the same time, he is easy to communicate with and open to feedback. The quality of the work was consistently good, and I could trust him/her with responsibility. Beyond the work itself, Phil was respectful, tidy, and pleasant to have around. Hosting him for these seven weeks has been a very positive experience, and I would gladly recommend Phil to other hosts. You are always welcome back!

Our stay with Gabriel was truly amazing. We felt right at home, and it was such a wonderful experience helping him with his garden and house. The location is fantastic, with easy access to public transport and the tranquility of the mountains. Gabriel was incredibly attentive and helpful. He's such a cheerful and energetic person. We loved spending these weeks with him and would definitely do it again! Thank you! 🥰

We had a wonderful week with Jean and his family! Most of our work was in the lavender fields, helping with the harvest and the oil extraction. It was a very pleasant job. The rest of the time, we helped Jean with different tasks related to his main activity, which is renting cabins. We also spent some time playing with his son Raphaël, which was a real pleasure for us. The working hours are very nice and flexible. Jean is always kind and caring, and he really wants to help you discover the region. Thanks to this, we shared many great moments with the family. The place is beautiful. The property is located near the ocean, in a very touristic area during summer. Regarding accommodation, we stayed in a lovely small house with our own kitchen and private bathroom, which offered a very high level of comfort. Jean also paid for our food, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was an excellent experience. We would have loved to stay longer, as we felt very welcome and truly part of their small ecosystem. We can only recommend this place! Our only regret is that our level of Spanish was not good enough to talk more with Carla, Jean’s wife, and their friends. Jean, of course, speaks French, which made communication very easy 🙂

We really loved our experience with Pablo. It was a great pleasure to help him with the different projects on his large property. The tasks we did were varied and interesting, and Pablo is very attentive and always tries to propose work that matches your interests and skills. During our stay, the working rhythm was very relaxed, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. The lakes, volcanoes, and the wild nature of the national park create a very peaceful and beautiful atmosphere, perfect for anyone looking for nature and tranquility. We also discovered amazing places thanks to Pablo. Regarding the accommodation, it was extremely comfortable. We had our own private place with a kitchen and a bathroom, which gave us real independence and privacy. In short, we can only recommend helping Pablo. On top of everything, he speaks excellent English, which makes communication very easy.

Even in the short time Anaïs was here, her independence, knowledge and experience was a great help to me. It's worth emphasizing that she took very good care of the accommodation; not many volunteers leave a place cleaner than they found it. Thank you so much! In summary I can highly recommend Marina to any future host and would gladly welcome her back anytime.

The last three weeks have been an absolutely fantastic experience in Pisa. Colin and Luisa were incredibly kind and gracious hosts. I learned so much about Italian culture, history, and even some of the language from them. They provided a lovely house and an abundance of food, which made me feel very comfortable and welcome. Pruning the olive trees was hard work, but very rewarding. During the rainy days, we created a beautiful bamboo fence, which was such a fun and creative project. The work schedule felt fair and balanced. It was also great to meet other like-minded Workawayers from around the world and share this experience together. I appreciated our last night so much making pizza from scratch in their outdoor pizza oven and sharing stories together. This experience made me realize there is a whole world out there to explore and make everlasting memories. I’m very grateful for my time here and would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning, working outdoors, and being part of a warm and welcoming home.

I really enjoyed my time with Angel, Valeria and baby Astor. From the first day, I felt very welcome and part of the family. I learned a lot during my stay and really appreciated the variety of tasks, which kept things interesting and allowed me to gain new experiences. The communication was always clear and kind, and expectations were well explained. The food was very good, and I also had a nice amount of free time to explore. They gave great recommendations for the area, which is absolutely lovely and worth discovering. Overall, it was a beautiful experience with a warm and welcoming family. I’m very grateful for my time there and would definitely recommend staying with them.

I had a wonderful time staying with the family. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and included in daily life. The food was absolutely fantastic and the communication was great throughout my stay – open, clear, and respectful. I appreciated the opportunity to learn, especially about sustainable living and their thoughtful approach to everyday life. It gave me a much better understanding and many ideas I can take home with me. Overall, it was a lovely experience with a kind and inspiring family. I’m very grateful for my time there and would absolutely recommend staying with them. Wishing you all the best for the future :)

I enjoyed my stay at Thomas'place. I had the whole guesthouse for myself (the advantages to be there during winter) I did some housesitting and then worked in the garden (with a beautiful view on the sea!). Very grateful for this experience, the place is awesome and beautiful. I had a car which was very helpful! The cats are adorable. :)

I stayed with Gabo (Clarance his local name) for two weeks, and it was truly an intense and enriching experience that I’ll carry with me for a long time. We visited Tobago, worked in the bush for a few days, and celebrated Carnival together — it was a very full, vibrant, and memorable two weeks. One of the personal challenges for me at the beginning was to let go, to simply be present, and to focus on what was asked of me. Gabo is someone who naturally takes the lead in organizing, and he does this with confidence and care. Because of that, I felt I had the space to relax into the experience and fully be in the moment, which was incredibly valuable for me (I'm used to organise everything myself). Thanks to our preparatory phone calls, our open conversations about the budget, and the mutual respect between us, we were able to build trust quite quickly. This made it possible not only to accept our differences, but to appreciate and even warmly embrace them. For other interested Workawayers, I would say it’s important to be grounded and connected to yourself, to quiet your mind when needed, and above all to communicate openly and sincerely. If you bring that mindset, I truly believe you can have a beautiful and meaningful experience with Gabo.

Marga is so passionate about food and she loves the cuisine from Andalucia. Result, I got to eat so much 'buenismo' food this week. Muchas Gracias Marga for feeding me. She also taught me a nice traditional Spanish recipe, which am cooking myself- not anywhere near tasty as hers, but still.. Marga started her stay by repairing my washing machine and thereafter was my Chef :)- She was also a very dedicated student of massage in the short time we had. If not for her visa issues, I think she would have stayed longer, at least for perfecting her learning. It was a beautiful week in which we spend lots of time talking and also made some visits around and I have made a dear friend in Andalucia. Your smile will stay here 🌸 Hasta luego amigo 🌸

I was on a farm surrounded by a wonderful Malay family. I felt like part of the family. I was lucky enough to attend my first Malay wedding, which I really enjoyed. There, I experienced life in the rainforest for the first time and tried many of the traditional dishes and fruits. I learned a lot about plants and even planted several varieties of them. It was fascinating to see how fish are raised. Picking a pineapple from a bush is an experience unlike buying one at the market. Overall, thank you for the warm welcome. I hope to see you in Turkmenistan.

Having Hanga at home was very nice, she always had a ready smile and her presence radiated calm and tranquility. She helped us with everything we asked her for and was very flexible with changes. She helped us distribute compost to the trees and clean the pond (a big job). She accompanied us to visit other friends and was always very collaborative. Welcome home whenever you want. a big hug

Suzuka is a very polite, friendly workawayer. She was very tidy and clean and assisted in feeding the horses and walking the dogs. She cleaned the stables and the track and cooked an Asian meal for us. She is a very intelligent lady, eager to learn about many things. It was fun she had such a big interest in horses. Our cats loved her too. Even if she is not the strongest person physically, she always did her best to help out in the garden, stables and garage and she wasn't afraid of a bit of rain or snow. We wish her all the best in her future activities.

Mina stayed with me for five days and it was a very positive experience. She is gentle, respectful and easy to live with. She helped organize my kitchen cabinets with care and cooked wonderful Iranian meals for us. She is curious, open-minded and enjoys meaningful conversations. Hosting her felt natural and comfortable. I would gladly host her again and recommend her to other Workaway hosts.

Irene, Hans : Gesundheit

I had the pleasure of spending two wonderful weeks at Karin and Luc's home. As I'm interested in horses, Karin taught me various training methods and even let me experience riding an Icelandic horse. In my free time, we played board games and engaged in cultural exchange, talking about each other's countries' cultures, histories, and politics. The animals were all smart and friendly. The two weeks flew by, and it was such a wonderful experience. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet them and their wonderful animals!

The experience with Suvi and her family was fantastic, everything was perfect and i felt welcomed and part of the family from day one. The nature around the house is wonderful, i loved walking in the forest, playing with Tuukka, and talking with Suvi about travel and life experiences. I've seen the northern lights several times right behind the house, and it was an indescribable feeling. The three children, Suvi, Jamo, and the animals are all fantastic. I'll miss them so much and i can't wait to come back
