  Hey! I’m Özlem from Türkiye. Five years ago I quit my job and moved to this seaside town to live a relaxed, low-budget and easygoing life. I have been vegan for 11 years and my flat is fully vegan. I accept non-vegan workawayers — but animal products are not allowed inside the flat, so please keep that in mind if you’d like to stay. I almost always have one free room and I’d love to host workawayers for cultural & language exchange. If you like crossfit, swimming, walking (or sometimes running!) or exercising together, that would be amazing. I sometimes need help with painting the walls, pet sitting (when I travel), my little garden, small repairs and general cleaning — nothing heavy, just teamwork. I also love crocheting and I may need help with some granny squares too 🧶 These days I mostly work online, so don’t be surprised if you see me in front of my computer all the time :)
  
  ⚠️ WINTER NOTE: we don’t have central heating. Only a wood stove in the living room. In winter you can sleep in the living room with me (there are 2 extra couches) OR stay in the separate room but then we need to run the electric heater and I’d appreciate help with the electricity bill. Summer is much easier.
  
  👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 SUMMER (June–September): house is busier: me, my two nieces (13 & 15), my mother and five cats. Flat is small (2 rooms + living room). You may stay in my room or share with the kids. In summer I’m especially looking for someone who can spend time with my nieces for language exchange. They speak English well, one speaks German, and they’re learning Japanese & Korean. We do early morning walks and swim almost every day.
  
  🌊 ABOUT THE AREA: 8 minutes to the beach. From March to November the sea is swimmable (even cold water lovers welcome). I swim in winter too if sun is out and wind is low. Many walking routes and historical places nearby. No car — so we use public transport (if it exists) or hitchhike. I have bicycles but most landmarks are uphill.
  
  🧶 WHAT I LOVE: cooking delicious vegan food, crochet, nature, long walks, and sharing knowledge about veganism & animal rights. Always happy to exchange skills and ideas.
