My first Workaway experience was at Karina and Aaron's winery. I feel extremely lucky to have had this opportunity to learn so much about wine with them, plus to be close to a hub of wine lovers and creators that is really delightful. I will miss being there this spring, for sure. I can recommend this to any young couple that wants to experience a different rhythm and lifestyle for a while. Thanks!!!

I'm so grateful to have been able to stay and help for 2 weeks 💛 It was an experience of meeting incredible people, music, nourishing food, and the privilege of immersion in Te Reo Māori at the school. I loved helping at the school, working in the greenhouse, and projects fixing things here and there. Nga mihi for everything, Lisa! ✨

David and Marie were wonderful hosts! They are very accommodating and teach you lots of skills to managing a farm and rural life that you might not get anywhere else! Never a dull moment and lots of interesting stories! I was able to keep busy, and I was well fed and well rested.

Bronie stayed with us for a short time, but she left a truly strong and positive impression. From the very first day, she proved to be a simple, adaptable, and hardworking person. Even though she is vegan, we had no complications regarding food – everything worked smoothly and without any special demands. She is very responsible and always ready to help with daily tasks, while also bringing a special energy into the space. She sings beautifully and plays the guitar, but what impressed us the most was her way of teaching children how to play guitar. Thank you, Bronie, and good luck!

Andreas and his young dog Unai are a team that you can only take to heart. For us, it was the very first two weeks off the grid. An exciting challenge. Andreas patiently explained all the tasks assigned to us, some of which were physically demanding (paving work, moving stones from one place to another). Our evenings together were filled with delicious food that Andreas cooked, good conversations, and a bit of "Schnaps". The days flew by and were simply wonderful.

Sukrati stayed with our family for two weeks in July. It was a positive experience and a beautiful opportunity for cultural exchange. The most special moment we shared was definitely the Indian party we organized together at home. Sukrati introduced us to her culture through food, music, and traditions, and it became a joyful evening for the whole family — especially for the children. It was a genuine moment of sharing and connection. We appreciated the cultural exchange and the time spent together. We wish her all the best for her future experiences.

Thank you Isabelle and Pierre for the weeks we spent together! I felt welcomed from the very first moment I arrived, and I couldn't have asked for a better first experience on the platform. During the three weeks I stayed with Isabelle, I helped her with the creation of her artworks and the organization of her dossier. She was an immense help with my drawings and taught me so much. Thanks to her, I saw a great improvement in just a few weeks. Together we also sewed a beautiful tote bag from scratch using her sewing machine (I'll have a wonderful memory to carry with me always, and I'm truly grateful for that). Pierre is an excellent cook and the kitchen is always stocked with delicious food, and an endless variety of spices to cook with. And the cheese... there was always an amazing selection of it, which I absolutely loved. He also has a deep love for music and loves discovering new artists; there's a Bluetooth speaker in the house and there's always great music playing. On top of that, he has an incredible knowledge of just about everything — I loved our conversations ranging from cinema to cooking, art, and current events. They are both truly special people, and so are their cats, who are very much part of the family, all gorgeous and incredibly affectionate. I really felt like I was at a relative's home, and I genuinely had the most wonderful time. I wish I'd had more time to stay together, more time to enjoy each other's company over good food, watching a film, or playing a board game. I really recommend this experience to anyone looking for good food, creativity and good conversations. I hope to come back one day! Avec beaucoup d'affection, merci pour tout ! Alessandra

Hannah spent a few wonderful weeks with us! She was an excellent volunteer, always eager to help, taking initiative, and very responsible with every task she was assigned for. She got along well with all the volunteers, staff, and guests, always bringing a smile and a positive attitude!. We could always rely on her no matter what, and we will truly miss her. We can definitely recommend her to other hosts!

This Workaway in Tenkasi was my first; my cherry has been popped. The host, Kedar, Canadian, has lived in India for the past, what, many years now. He has learned the local language, connected deeply with the local culture, and has ventured with his partner, Raj, to create a space that merges the parts of Canadian culture he aligns most with—talking circles, intentions, reconnecting with oneself—with the local culture of Tamil Nadu—the temples, the spiritual atmosphere. Through music, and conversations, and the nearby Nature—the lake we swam in, the river fish nibbled our toes in, the distant but not so distant mountains the sunset glowed over—they built, and are still building, their own bubble there anyone would be lucky to be invited into. One highlight was the lake we swam in. We picked soap packets and fabrics discarded near the shore, then swam in. It really was the perfect setting for the life conversations that week inspired—cleaning the shore of the lake we were about to swim in. Another highlight was the local temple we visited. They both were able to guide me through the statues, encouraging me to set intentions at each, and sharing the different concepts each represented. We visited the Shiva stone a mixture of milk and water was poured onto to purify, and then inside a room misted by incense, the Mother statue. We experienced the closing ceremony of the temple, wandering the grounds with a handful of others chanting and saying goodbye prayers to the deities. If there is any part of you that needs some guidance during your travels, needs help finding your intentions, this space they created embodies that. As an example, Kedar was incredibly helping during our first connecting video call, getting me train tickets, tracking the train, making sure I got to the right platform at the right time.

Kate and Vova were a wonderful addition to the ranch, and I feel super lucky to have hosted them. They were each very hardworking, reliable, and consistently went above and beyond what was asked of them. They took initiative, handled responsibilities with care, and brought a great attitude to everything they did, and didn't even get that frustrated with some challenging other workawayers. They just stayed positive and kind, and made things happen. Beyond their work ethic, they’re thoughtful, funny, and easy to be around. They got along great with everyone here and fit naturally into ranch life. They were respectful of the space, the animals, and the rhythm of the property. Y'all are both welcome back anytime!

My experience in Guchan with Laurence, Pierre and the rest of the group was very good. I stayed for one week and could really enjoy the Pyrenees and their way of living. I got to help and learn in the garden and learn how to make a basket out of natural materials. They were also very patient and helpful with my level of french. It is a lovely place to enjoy nature and go on long hikes. I really recommend this place. Thanks again Laurence and Pierre, keep enjoying life to the fullest!

My first workaway project, and I had such a beautiful experience. Im really grateful for the time I spent here. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed in and made to feel like part of the circle and the rhythm of the ranch. Elodie was a super communicative and thoughtful host, always checking in and making sure I felt comfortable and satisfied with the food. She was also really helpful when it came to exploring the area! And the boys… You will rarely be bored; they will keep you on your toes, haha. They are playful, a little chaotic, but deep down, they’re really loving and express it in their own unique ways. I honestly saw a bit of myself in everyone on the ranch, which made the experience more personal. I originally planned to stay two weeks, but after talking with Elodie, I ended up staying almost a month. I know I’ll carry this experience with her family, the land, and the animals with me for a lifetime. So many fond memories made, and I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a home away from home.

Thank you so much Victor and Jackie. At first, I really appreciate they accepted me. This is my first time to do Workaway. This experience was amazing. They were very welcoming to me. They put me in their life and I have learned how to live sustainable life. The habits for sustainable are small things but there are so many. I believe the ways would be really great for sustainable living. They tough me how to cook, grow plants, languages(English and French) and so on. I hope I was able to help them. There are also lovely dog, sheep and chickens. The view of house and around house were amazing. It is very quiet and relaxing area. They gave me free time as well. I just sat down and read books. My favorite place is a long walk with dog under the tree. It was so beautiful.

We spent one week at Gautham's place, he is very welcoming and trustful person. The house is surrounded by trees, plants and it's really calm. During our stay we helped him by tidying up the terrace, doing some gardening and cooking. While staying he gave us a private space next to his house. We mostly worked in the morning and evening (with very flexible hours), a few hours each. The rest of time was spent with Gautham, his neighbors or exploring the area. We spent really good time with him talking about interesting things of life, different way of livings, books, and especially about his project of unschooling. We also spent one day with the kids, all of them are really talkative, curious and joyful, we had a whale of time with them.

“Rosie was a fantastic host during my three weeks in Oaxaca. We got a solid amount of work done around her place—everything from small fixes to bigger projects—and I really poured my heart into it. Honestly, I’m proud of what we accomplished together. She’s kind, down-to-earth, and super easy to talk to. The whole vibe was relaxed and welcoming; I showed up knowing no one, and by the end I felt like part of the Family. Super grateful for her hospitality—great food, great company, and a place that actually felt like home. Definitely recommend.”

We are truly grateful for the time Marlee spent with us. She has a real passion for Thai cooking and brought great energy and kindness to our home and community. She was wonderful with the children at our school, offering help, encouragement, and warmth. We deeply appreciate her support and positive spirit. We fully support Marlee in continuing her journey to share her experiences around the world. Any community would be lucky to have her.

My experience was best here and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this place.
