Description
Kia ora! I am an environmental lawyer and community organiser from Aotearoa New Zealand, traveling Europe with the aim to learn about different environmental, social, arts and community initiatives and to offer my skills!
I have unlimited energy and positivity which I have brought to my wide range of volunteering roles across various environmental and social charities and organisations. As a leader in my own community space (vogelmorn.co.nz) I know the value of a dedicated volunteer!
I grew up exploring the outdoors and have a great love for nature and protecting our biodiversity. I enjoy hiking, running, biking and swimming and a range of outdoor activities. I am also a creative soul - I sing and play guitar and would love the opportunity to exchange songs from different cultures.

I love the linguistic and cultural aspect of learning and teaching languages. I previously volunteered as an English language teacher in Ecuador for 6 months, where I also learnt Spanish. I have studied and taught te reo Māori, the indigenous language of New Zealand. I am currently learning Italian as I have family in Italy, and I would like to learn the Welsh language as that is my heritage. Over the years I have picked up on small bits of other languages such as Hindi, Norwegian, Greek and New Zealand Sign Language.

More details about your skills
Beyond my strong written and oral communication skills from my work experience as a lawyer, I have a range of other practical skills such as gardening/DIY, painting. I am generally fit and strong and happy to get my hands dirty!
My previous volunteer experience includes food waste rescue, waitstaff at a community restaurant, radio journalism, earthquake disaster response, English language teaching, providing community legal advice, and fundraising.
I have worked for various environmental organisations doing legal research and conservation work. I also have hospitality experience as a barista/FOH and bar staff (including duty manager).
As a trustee of my local community organisation, I gained extensive experience in event management, volunteer coordination, governance and strategy and conflict resolution.
As mentioned I am generally creative, including music and drawing/painting. I also am a digital native, with proficient IT and design skills.
By far my strongest attributes are my willingness to try anything (always with a smile on my face!), and my ability to connect with a wide range of people.
