Fred was an amazing host! He was very kind, respectful and a joy to be around. He fed me well, entertained me, made me laugh and treated me like family. He trusted me to the fullest with my chores getting done, his home and his lovely pets. His wife is an amazing woman as well. Their home, garden and neighborhood are beautiful, Biscarrosse is a hidden jewel! They also helped me with my French and would have taught me more if I had made more effort. If you get the opportunity to volunteer here take it!! Thank you Fred and Linda💕

I had a wonderful time with Giulia and Andrea and the boys (and Lulu!). They were so welcoming to me. Samu and Gabri were very funny, kind, and easy to be with. I was able to visit several cities nearby and Giulia and Andrea were so accommodating with transport to/from the station. I feel very lucky to have had this experience!

We were delighted to have Suzie with us she settled in so easily to our family and was a great help in do many ways, cooking, working in the garden, driving the girls places, painting , general house work, basically anything that was on our to do list, Suzie was happy to do it. We loved her energy and positive personality. To other hosts I say grab her quick. To Suzie we say, thank you so much and we wish you so much good fortune on your adventures.

SO MUCH LOVE!! I volunteered here on and off for almost two months, and it was an overall amazing experience! The staff is really wonderful, and I felt completely at home there 💖 The location is close to a lot of nice places, like the beautiful Arab League Park, the old Medina, the locals' food district, and the pidgeon square! I loved the long walks through the markets or along the port to get to Hassan II Mosque. The school is just above a cafe, and a block away from good tagine! The work is quite relaxed, and you'll find yourself with lots of free time to explore the city and learn about the culture! Saturdays can be quite busy, but I think the most time I've ever spent in class during the day had been a total of 3 hours, maybe 4. On weekdays, an average workday is 1-2 hours max. You won't need any prior teaching experience for the classes, but know that you will be teaching- not only facilitating conversation, but actually instructing classes! It's rewarding work, and the more you put into the class, the more you'll get out! I love the students so much, and it was a nice learning journey for the all of us :) You'll be working with all ages, from children to adults in their 60s. Sarah, the host is so kind and welcoming, and she does an amazing job to cultivate a healthy, drama-free workplace. She is very professional, and every week we had a meeting where she asked for honest feedback and if we needed anything. She and the team are all very hard workers, and run a beautiful project! I felt completely at home here, and will always look forward to coming back :)) Shukran Bzaaf, Jacob

We really enjoyed our time staying here. The area was beautiful and peacefully quiet but still nice and close to town as well as being close to some incredible sights to see. It was a great shame that the timing didnt line up and we werent able to properly get to know the family as they were away for part of it. Instead we had the lovely Neil as our leader and we learnt plenty from him and appreciated his company. We felt that we completed a lot of jobs that will help out in the long run and had a fun time doing it. Much love to the family, Neil and fluffy :)

I was only able to stay 2 weeks, but the family was so warm and welcoming, it made me want to stay longer, maybe next year! There are lots of fun things to do around the area as well!

I stayed with Alan and Dionny for 10 days, and it was a great and unique memory and experience for me! The work itself is not hard; usually we start working at the corn field around 9am, helping with cleaning the farm and harvest the corns. And usually volunteers would take turns to help with cooking and cleaning the dishes. The working time is flexible, e.g., I work more today so that I could go for a full-day hiking tomorrow. Also, usually there are several volunteers at the same time, which allowed me to know new people from all over the world, and I also had a chance to go hiking with other volunteers. Dionny and Alan are friendly and welcoming. Thanks so much to Dionny for cooking so much delicious food! And she also took care of me when I was unfortunately sick... And thanks to Alan who is the advanced hiker. He provided information and help the volunteers to organize several hiking activities. I also enjoyed the chats during lunch and dinner with other volunteers, Alan, and Dionny. It's a pity that my Spanish is not good enough and I couldn't understand all of the convo (while other volunteers all speak fluent Spanish), but I still learned a lot about Peru and some local culture. Thanks again to everyone (Dionny and her sweet family, and other volunteers) for everything 🙂🙏🏻.

Tom was an excellent helper during the full time. He and another of our "workawayer's" decided to start a bamboo structure that I was not even expecting to start now, Even that it was something new to them, they got super evolved in making it happen, did many researches, and the results are great! I am very thankful for them to have passed by! Tom is a very calm, caring and intelligent person. I would recommend him a lot!

I spent a little under two weeks with Hector and Edith in their beautiful home and had a wonderful experience. They were the most gracious hosts and made me feel welcome and at home right away. Hector is a incredibly kind and gentle person and I really enjoyed working with him. You will have all the food you could possibly need, as Hector makes seriously some of the best food I have tried in Mexico. He is a truly talented chef! I would typically work from around 7:30-1 with a break in the middle to eat. I found all the tasks to be relatively easy and enjoyable. Hector and Edith were even nice enough to show me around a nearby town of Tepoztlán on the weekend, a place I highly recommend anyone to visit! Thank you for everything Hector and Edith!

Tona is a lovely person, really hard worker, nothing could stop her, even an injured finger... It shows how much passion she has in what she does, in our case she was helping to build a bamboo structure and some other little things too... A resilient strong woman. Definitely worth to have on your team! Thank you Tona!! <3

Roser is a really interesting, genuine and strong character! I loved my stay at their place (altought it turned out shorter than I planned). She knows everything about herbs and gave me bunch of travel tips for their place future:) She and her family are very easy going people and they were also so sweet and patient with me when I got sick (even tho except for Roser, with the others I didn’t really have a common language sadly.) I enjoyed my stay, really glad I met you and wish you guys all the best:))

We are honoured to have been your first workawayers! Helene and I had a great time staying with Eric, Nastassia and the Girls. They’re kind, generous and definitely fun to be around. Both are very open minded and flexible. Our main tasks were dropping off the kids at daycare in the morning, grocery shopping, cooking in the evening and light housework. And of course having fun playing with the kids! We had lots of free time during the week and we were off on the weekends. Thanks to Eric we were able to get the ultimate Costco experience! Thank you for letting us be a part of your family! Especially during Christmas!

I stayed with Lory and Tim for about two and a half weeks, and I had an amazing time. They are such kind people and they really make you feel at home. They are super friendly and open, but also give you your space and respect your privacy. They also have such great stories to tell. I was a bit worried at first because my English isn't perfect, but they made me feel so comfortable. While I was there, I helped with cleaning and clearing up after the guests' breakfast, and I helped with various projects, like cleaning the beehives (which Lory takes care of so professionally), getting guest rooms ready, and raking leaves. I had a break at noon, where I spent a lot of time at the pool, in nature, and doing yoga. in the late afternoons, I loved helping Lory cook dinner for the guests. It was great quality time with fun and deep conversations. They even took me on trips: we went to beautiful Assisi, Lory took me to a second-hand market, and Tim took me to see an opera in Perugia!. The work there was always pleasant and easygoing; they really cared about how I was feeling. The room was great and the view is just stunning. I highly recommend staying with them, they are smart, wonderful people with huge hearts with a wonderful place.

Louise is as she says on her profile - reliable, hardworking , skilled and an excellent project manager. She began and completed many varied tasks, clearing old beds and restoring them to their former glory, weeding, laying mulch, clearing and laying paths, cutting back plants, transplanting and tidying. She is very willing to share cooking and was generous in sharing the space with others who joined us over a weekend. She is well able to work independently and to keep an eye on the daily tasks that need doing to keep a house/garden and home running. She was sensitive to me as a host with many other obligations and was well able to take time and space for herself without needing to be looked after. She is also a very good pet sitter. I found her to be one of the best workers I have had here and I can recommend her to other hosts.
