We loved hosting Rosannah She is good fun, great conversationalist and a really consiencious worker. I would recommend her to any future host. While she was our guest she assisted in maintaining our extensive garden, making pickles and sauces and general household cleaning and maintenance. We wish her all the best in her travels and want her to know she would always be welcome back should she wish

Leo was a delightful house guest and a thorough and hard worker. He cleaned our bnb accomodation, cleared a very large area of vegetation, and assisted with a range of gardening work. Leo treated us to some delicious dishes and was great at keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.

Our three weeks here were amazing! The most important, the managers are supportive, flexible, and really kind. We worked two hours of cleaning in the morning or an evening shift. The schedule is very chill and gives you plenty of free time. The city is super lively with many cafes, shops, and markets. Also, the river is lovely. You will find plenty of things to do around here with a car! Meeting other Workawayers is great too. You discover new cultures and share awesome moments together. We definitely recommend this place. You will feel well-supported and discover a typical Australian city near nature. Thanks again for this great experience! ;)

I stayed with Damian for 20 days, and my stay was fantastic. He took me birdwatching and showed me around the beautiful reserve where he works! As for the house, it's simple and efficient. The work consisted of watering and various tasks centered around the plants. The number of hours is really reasonable, and the schedule is flexible, which was perfect for me since I like to set my own hours! And most importantly, Damian is a really great person. Despite my intermediate English, he taught me so much! His roommate, Amy, is also really great! Thanks again for this opportunity :)

Gurmeet was more than an ideal guest. She cooked wonderful vegetarian meals, and cleaned way beyond the call of duty. More than sightseeing, she was happy to just hang out, which suited me perfectly. It was endless ly amazing to me to see a young woman with a degree in medicine sweeping floors and washing windows. Even better she was happy to just hang out rather than going off site-seeing. I wound host her again without question, and truly hopes she heads deep into Mex ico again at some point. Wishing you all the best in your life path, dear fri end, Gurmeet!

Darling Lucie (from France) joined us for her last 2 weeks in NZ. (February 2026) She is amazing! Always smiling and ready for action. Lucie was so capable at any task we asked of her. She is polite, tidy, punctional, respectful and caring. She did tasks ranging from calf training, chicken care, fence repairs to weeding and mulching around shrubs and trees. The chickens and calves loved her. Lucie is a fit, strong and compassionate young lady. ❤️ Her 2 weeks with us was so much fun and went by so quickly. We highly recommend Lucie as an enthusiastic and valuable Workawayer.

Jon & Evelyn’s was my first workaway experience and it was great! They have lots of animals and a beautiful property that they care deeply about and are working to restore for a better future. You can also tell that they both genuinely want you to enjoy New Zealand and explore as much as possible. They were always willing to give me recommendations which was much appreciated as I found my footing in NZ. Thanks for having me Jon & Evelyn!

The week we stayed with Isabel and her family will for us be a time to remember. We where picked up by Isabel, and she welcomed us with a warm hug and a big smile. In general her, Frank and Lowis (we didn’t meet Amalie and Mathis, as they were studying in Germany at that time) were all the time very warm and positive. They included us in more things than we could have asked for; Isabel took us to several daytrips and we went bouldering twice with Lowis. Furthermore they all three did their best to give us recommendations and make plans for our future, since we arrived here with only a WHV and no plans ;)) The work in the garden was fun, and Isabel did just a big effort with the work as she asked us to do. Uh and then we already miss the great and healthy food! Again thanks!

Rumiko made my stay in Gotemba an unforgettable experience. Even though I wasn’t able to work directly at the school, she organized fantastic Japanese lessons with Miho-san and gave me the opportunity to gain real teaching experience. She provided a great inside look into the daily lives of Japanese high school students and helped me discover many fascinating aspects of Japanese culture. She was always kind, attentive to my requests, and made sure everything was perfect despite having a very busy schedule. I highly recommend visiting Gotemba for the chance to meet the wonderful people there and gain a deeper understanding of the Japanese education system. I look forward to returning to Gotemba and reconnecting with Rumiko and the amazing community she has built there :)

Yann: I genuinely don't think that this workaway could have gone better. From the first minute to the last we felt really connected to this place and to Hanif, Elias and Sajan, the three brothers that run the place. We stayed for 10 days overall and worked on preparing windows and doors for the different huts and kitchen (sanding and painting) which turned out to be really fun. Woodwork and helping out in the kitchen were also part of the daily tasks. Everything was made easy for us so that we could work comfortably. Apart from working, we specially loved living in what felt like being a small community. Cooking on woodfire, sharing stories, showering with the stars above and relaxing under the trees with sunrises and sunsets. I will never forget the feeling of waking up in this peaceful place and drink the first Chai of the day (there were quite a few!). A big big thank you to Hanif, Elias, Sajan and Gabi. I will be back. __________ Lucie: If you are reading this, this is your sign to come and help out at the farm ;). Whether it’s painting and restoring doors and windows for the huts (with full creative freedom), working with wood, making new furniture, helping out with cooking, cleaning… they always had something for us to do or help out with. Staying in a hut and in such a remote place was simply wonderful. They took care of us like family. I cannot say how thankful I am to have crossed paths with you Hanif, Sajan and Elias (also special mention to Gaby). You made us feel at home straight away, you all cook the best food and chaï! You create a magical atmosphere between your family, friends and guests. Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful oasis… which is so hard to leave. See you again.

I stayed in this hostel for two weeks, and it was my first experience with Workaway. Everything was great. I met a lot of people and practiced my English, learned a lot a bout different cultures and nationalities. Unfortunately, I couldn't meet Badh in person, but he always stayed in contact and was very friendly. I recommend everyone who wants to stay in KL.

Dear Ashling this feedback is a little late but thank you for all your wonderful help. Ashling stayed with me for three weeks and was an absolute pleasure to host. She was super funny, hardworking, clever, efficient, and possesses the most amazing work ethics. She went above and beyond to help make the garden look absolutely amazing, cutting grass, raking leaves, clearing tree debris along a very long fence line to make it fire safe. She was very generous and on arrival brought a lot of her own food and snacks. During her free time, she was very busy preparing job applications and she enjoyed exploring the local area and going swimming. I highly recommend Ashling to other hosts. You will be glad you took her on. Ashling you are most welcome back anytime and thank you for the lovely chit chats and sharing all the nice food you brought along. I wish you all the very best for the future and your travels around Australia and I trust you are enjoying South Australia. Thank you and miss you Vita xx

Dear Margherita this feedback is a little late but thank you for all your wonderful help. Margherita stayed with me just under four weeks and was an absolute pleasure to host. She was super talented, hardworking, clever, efficient, very responsible and possesses the most amazing organization skills. She went above and beyond to help make the garden look absolutely amazing, cutting grass, sorting and bagging kindling for winter, rehabilitating a garden area that was previously damaged by a storm, spreading mulch around garden plants and planting new plants. During rainy days she helped me declutter, sort and reorganize the barn so that everything can be easily identified, accessed and the space is more functional. If Margherita offers to make you home-made gnocchi please let her. Margherita thank you, to you and your Mum for teaching me how to make fresh mango ice-cream, and teaching me to make the most delicious and super soft, home-made gnocchi and you are right they do taste the best when made with a blend of semola and 00 flour. During her free time, she enjoyed exploring the beauty of the garden and working on her English grammar and online English conversations and she is extremely generous, she came to visit me, for my birthday with two lovely presents - thank you they are most appreciated. I highly recommend Margherita to other hosts. You will be glad you took her on. Margherita you are most welcome back anytime and thank you for the lovely chit chats and sharing all the healthy food tips and I hope that you are having a wonderful time travelling around Tasmania and Australia. And thank you to Pablo for all the fresh cherries. I wish you all the very best for the future. Thank you and miss you Vita xx

It was a joy to host Johanne. She is such a positive, helpful, friendly and energetic young lady . Johanne attended to every job with enthusiasm and drive. She willingly worked both with me and unsupervised. I felt like we made a great team and that was a special treat for me. We spent many hours cleaning my shed, and sharing stories, making the task fun rather than onerous. Johanne also washed windows, vacuumed, cleaned, weeded and pruned plants, washed dishes and helped in the kitchen, always with a smile, thanks and appreciation. She encouraged me to do daily water aerobics with her too. Anyone having her stay will be blessed. Joe, I wish you all the best in your life's journey and hope that our paths cross again.

This workaway was different than expected... I really liked the Farm, the nature is beautiful and all the dogs, horses and especially cat 'Milky' are the most beautiful souls. But being there will be different from the explanations on the profile. You will NOT be part of the family. You will have your own cottage, eat your own meals, barely do activities together. You will get 60$ food allowance per week, a place to sleep and the chance of being on a farm- this is what you get. If you dont have a car its hard to get around, but if you have the chance you should explore the beautiful grampians. There is always a lot to do around the house, with the kids and the horses. So it will easily be 7-8h/day, some days I had 10h. Also you will be working self responsible most of the time and get your instructions via whatsapp. Even the smallest tasks are supposed to be done by the workawayers, which makes the workload add up fast. Basically, you will run the whole place. It felt like Workaway is used to find free workers and not for a cultural exchange and learning together. There is mostly 1 or 2 other workawayers too, so a least you won't be alone and can have a great time with them. :)

Dear Maria this feedback is a little late but thank you for all your wonderful help. Maria stayed with me for three weeks and was an absolute pleasure to host. She was super hardworking, clever, efficient and very responsible. She went above and beyond to help finish pruning all the hydrangeas, cutting grass and making the garden look absolutely spectacular. During rainy days she helped me spring clean indoors, declutter and re-organize my pantry and rearranged the lounge room area so that the space is more functional. Maria was extremely clever at teaching me how to solve lots of technical issues with Apple products like why my devices would not recharge (also very generous at gifting me one of her spare power cables) and how to perform hard resets and thank you for teaching me the quirky instruments on my car dashboard, especially for the petrol tank. In her free time, she enjoyed exploring the local area and she is extremely generous, on her last day off, she treated me to a very expensive but most amazing High Tea at the Olinda Tea House. Thank you so much for such luxury. And she kept in touch while travelling around Australia and just before she embarked on more travels, she came to visit me in Olinda and was able to enjoy the fruits of all her help - the pruned hydrangeas in full bloom. I highly recommend Maria to other hosts. You will be glad you took her on. Maria you are most welcome back anytime and thank you for the lovely chit chats and sharing lots of technical tips and I hope that you are having a wonderful time travelling. I wish you all the very best for the future. Thank you and miss you Vita xx

It was so nice to have Cici with us at the school. She's a great Teacher! Unfortunately couldn't stay too long with us but had some great vibes and best willingness to help out in the week she was with us. Wishing her the best on her next journeys!

This was my very first experience with volunteering in a hostel, and it was so great ! This hostel has to be the most social place you can find in Malacca, everyone is very friendly and Howard and his family are very welcoming ! The reception tasks were really easy, and there is a great vibe and atmosphere in the staff team. I genuinely enjoyed every bit of my 2 weeks stay here and can only recommend it to everyone, guests or volunteers :)))

I stayed with Tory for about two weeks and really enjoyed my time there. After more than four months of travelling, it was the perfect place to relax and recharge. I loved that most meals were shared together, and the food was absolutely delicious! Tory always provided us with fresh fruit and vegetables from her garden. During my stay, we mostly helped with gardening tasks, including clearing blackberry bushes and general outdoor work. I stayed there together with another Workawayer, which was a really nice experience. Tory is a very relaxed and kind host, which gave me lots of freedom while still feeling included. We finished my stay with a pizza night — thank you, Tory! The accommodation is very simple and immersed in nature, which might not suit everyone but can be a great experience if you enjoy that lifestyle. If you love nature and are looking for a peaceful place to slow down and unwind, this is the perfect spot!

Best Workaway Ever. No questions around that. I stayed with Fran and Adam for a week and a bit in there secluded, sweet home in Waipu and the first thing we did was pop down to their beautiful local beach - Heaven! I reached out to Fran initially because I was super keen to learn more about bees, beekeeping and honey and man did I learn a lot. I was quickly introduced to the honey bungalow where I got busy de capping the honey comb, spinning the frames and decanting the honey into jars. Fran also took me out to see some of the hives she looks after and I got to don a bee suit and help her out! Incredible! Outside of work, Fran and Adam have some great suggestions for activities in and around Waipu (think glow worm caves, waterfalls you can swim behind, coastal walkways and beautiful beaches) and to top it all off they're great chefs too and meal times were always sat at the table, having a chit chat and playing a game of cards. Honestly this experience was the highlight of my Northland roadie! Fran and Adam also have a super cute shabby chic batch on the East Coast in a small village overlooking dunes and whoa it is serene! Thank you so much for hosting me I really valued my time here and to any potential workaways scanning the reviews - Definitely reach out! Phie
