Katie and Ian were wonderful hosts. They both had great attitudes and expectations were communicated clearly. We were able to grow new skills from the maintenance tasks and contribute to the ongoing passion-project of their home. We would recommend them as kind and generous hosts who looked after us very well 😊 Thank you!

What a pleasure to have had Alexandre giving his expertise with permaculture, digging up hundreds of blackberry roots, and putting back the terraces- plus planting the first of this year's food crops :) Thank you for all your hard efforts, and also for bringing me little fruit saplings to plant here :) So nice to have had a willing pair of hands for 3 weeks, as too much for me now. You're welcome back. Enjoy your current workaway

Ida was a pleasure to host. She comes across as a care free, fun and bubbly person who is always having a good time, but underneath that she is very responsible and always made sure that she completed the tasks assigned to her with dedication. She is someone who connects with people easily, and can always be seen having conversations and connecting with everyone, so she really made an impact towards making sure that everyone feels like a part of a family. We wish her all the best and highly recommend her as a volunteer for your projects

Hanchun was a very pleasant Workawayer, always ready to help and try her hand at learning new skills. She is kind and cheerful and always nice to have around. Although she had very limited experience with horses we were lucky to have one of my daughter's horses that is suitable for novices, staying with us at the time so she was able to go for a few hacks with us. I took her out with the ponies carriage driving and she really appreciated the countryside and being with the animals. Hanchun was always interesting to talk with and she was kind enough to make some really delicious Chinese food for us. She was respectful and considerate and worked really hard to help sort out my rather neglected vegetable patch .

Jan stayed with me for around 3 weeks. He is a plesant friendly guy. He helped varnish the balconies and fixed up some of the steps leading up to the house. He did a great job. All the best for the future Jan 🙌

Asnieres sur Oise is a charmig, calm, cozy village with old architecture and close to nature. At the time I was there most of the family members were away so it was only me and Fabienne which worked very well! Most of the tasks I was doing during my time were gardening, cleaning windows and fixing minor things on a bike which I also could borrow! I think Fabienne is a very caring and easy going person that cooked all meals from scratch with mostly organic quality food. She was very clear and simple describing the tasks and the simple rules of the house so it was very easy to understand. I could choose my work time as I wanted which gave me the opportunity to visit Paris every day if I wanted to. It was possible to take the bike (sometimes during the day also bus) to two different train stations that were around 10–20 min away. Fabienne is very nice to conversate with and can share a lot about French culture which makes the meals even more pleasant. In general I had a very good time and the room I was staying in was very cozy and private with a super comfortable bed! Thank you so much Fabienne for your care and this Work Away opportunity! Best regards Driton

So well with Lucia and Roberto that I stayed with them about 6 months! Excellent the accomodation, with my own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. There were so many things to do in this beautiful country house and garden, and some of them new for me: they taught me how to prune vines and build a stone wall, things I really appreciated. How I appreciated their cuisine (Lucia is a very good cook, but also Roberto with his Sicilian dishes). I loved their charm, their way of life, their friends... and the good wine of course! I've grown fond of Tuzza and Dilly, their sweet pets. We promised each other to meet again, I hope very soon. Thank you!

I had a wonderful time with Karen. We spent the time together working and rebuilding her garden outside of the rampart of the village. She will lovingly cook tasty food for you and be present if you need anything. Open minded like, we really dug deep about a lot of differents subjects :) Pleased to have made your acquaintance

Hannah was a delightful volunteer and we really enjoyed having her stay at the Quinta. From helping in the garden, to cooking, DIY projects and looking after the animals, Hannah gave her all with everything that was asked of her and did an excellent job. She is also queen of the boardgames and as well as beating us all at Catan, introduced everyone to lots of fun new ones. Wishing her all the best on her travels!

What an awesome beautiful family! I’m so grateful for the time spent with Hakon, Emilie and Skarge. They are such wonderful and clever people, kind and hardworking, nothing is a problem for them. They bring so much joy to everything they do and we miss them every day. This gorgeous family will always be welcome to stay with us any time they are in Tasmania, I wish them every happiness in life.

I stayed with Jigear for a couple of days and enjoyed my time there. He and his family made me feel very welcome and we had some interesting conversations about the Kazakh culture and Jigear's future travel plans. Since there were no other volunteers at the time, I helped in the kitchen and the tasks were easy. A highlight for me was interacting with his mother, who is an inspiring and kind woman. I wish you good luck with your community in Albania!

Nini is a very responsible and caring person. She did all her jobs well and with enthusiasm and responsibility. She also kept the house clean and tidy, which i really appreciate. I just wish we had had a shared language to be able to communicate better.

Terasa is a pleasure to host. She worked with a smile, even though some days the rain tried to take our smiles away. She is punctual, enthusiastic and interesting to chat to. Terasa did a beautiful art piece for my kitchen. I love it so much. Terasa you are always welcome back. Wishing you wonderful adventures ❤️

Rob has been a great workawayer. It was a short stay, but I found him to be friendly, open, and hardworking. He made good and easy connections with my son, animals, friends and neighbours. I am very grateful for the visit and support with my project. Would be very welcome back

I had a truly wonderful time staying with Gordon and Judy. From the very beginning, they welcomed me with so much warmth and kindness that I quickly felt like part of the family. The work was varied and rewarding, including construction, gardening, and all sorts of different tasks around the house depending on what was needed. Having a dip in the pool after work to cool off was a big plus and enjoying organic, healthy food, fresh from their own garden. I learned a lot during my time working with Gordon, who is not only a great builder and hard worker, but also a wonderful company to chat with in between jobs. He has so many great stories. Judy is simply the loveliest person: a brilliant thinker, passionate, and with a wonderfully refreshing sense of humor. I will always remember our conversations during breakfast, dinner, and the quiet moments we shared throughout the day. Life in the house was made even more special by all the other members of the household too: the dogs, the cats, the ducks, goats, sheep, chickens, and especially the two lovely pigs, Mr. Joe and Piggy Sue, whom I completely fell in love with. They all brought so much character and joy to the experience. Sometimes you begin a Workaway expecting to help out, travel, and have a good experience — and then you meet people who leave a much deeper mark on your life. I honestly could not have asked for a better experience, and I hope to have the chance to visit them again soon.

We really enjoyed having Hayley stay to help out with our tiny house project. Friendly, chatty and with lots of stories to share, and curiosity about other people. She was a nice presence to have around at home, and was a tidy and very considerate house guest. Hayley was keen to learn new skills, was happy to get on with the various tasks we asked her to help with, and manages her time well. She got on well with the other Workawayer we had staying. She also cooked us a meal one night, which was really nice, and brought a lovely enthusiasm to our evening music jam sessions :)

Me and Malina got to experience our first time in Japan with a very unique and heart-warming family, consisting of Jerry and Imelda with their two young boys. The boys were incredibly smart and fun to work with, what surprised me was that there was no language barrier between us from the start. Breaking the ice with both of them wasn't easy at first, since they had very different personalities. While James was more on the quieter and shyer side, Phillip was a confident spirit for himself. Though both warmed up to us so quickly it felt like we were taking care of younger siblings. We had fun all around in Japan, starting with Osaka, where we moved throughout Kyoto and Kanazawa to finally get to Tokyo, where our journey ended. From having fun in Universal studios, relaxing in an onsen, playing games, exploring the traditional side of Japan, to trying new delicious foods - it was an unforgettable experience. I've rarely seen so much in nine days - of course, moving around so much was a bit tiring, but it was really worth it in the end! True to their profile, the family was very generous and kind-hearted. We truly felt taken care of and after a short time of knowing each other, it surprisingly felt less like looking after the boys, and more like a family trip. Thank you so much for this experience, we hope to see you again! :)
